I get tired of seeing the same cuts of meat at my local grocery store and I am always on the look out for a good butcher or meat market. A friend told me about this place as he knows the owner as they went to college together and stated that the owner has several degrees in Meat Science. I went there and looked at all the cuts in the refrigerator section and noticed that he has some meats at the perfect refrigerated temperature so that you can purchase it and go straight home and throw it on your grill. I also noticed that someone had ordered a special cut and wanted him to age it for them and he had it behind glass at the temperature needed for the aging process. Was cool to see that meat aging. I bought two well marbled steaks and the size of them were perfect. I paid $20 for both! In my opinion that was a bargain. I grilled my steaks and boy was the flavor tasty and tender. The steaks cut like a knife going through butter. Next door from the meat section he has a counter where they can prepare and grill your purchased meat. I tried this service and the steak was grilled perfect and the French Fries on the side were delicious. I don't know what type of grease they use on the fries but they tasted delicious and crispy. The workers in the meat department and the cook were so nice and friendly. Stop in and make this your family meat market and if you want a steak grilled for you this is the place. read more

This is for the Lomo Grill section. Ordered a beef and cabbage burrito. The beef is definitely of a higher quality when compared with most restaurants and fast food joints. I did not encounter any stringy or infinitely chewable meat, and the beef itself is quite juicy. The burrito itself comes with an optional sauce packet, but it tastes juicy enough to hold its own without it. My only gripe is it's smaller and less nutritious than one you could grab at Chipotle. The rice, beans, vegetables, and guacamole options at chipotle contribute to a larger nutritional profile than just beef and cabbage at this location. It's also bigger at chipotle. My overall logic is this: If you're looking for a good quality beef burrito, you can grab one here because the quality of beef is worth the price increase and size reduction when compared to Chipotle. Let me first start with the positives. The beans were REALLY good. I would've been convinced to come back for a bean and cheese burrito had I not witnessed a severe issue I'll cover later. Full flavored beans are rare, so I was grateful as that made my burrito edible. The decor is a modern, black minimalist design, which I like a lot. It was clean. The Asada was an excellent cut itself. The quality was great. Now, I have some issues and we'll go over them. First off, this restaurant was my third stop on my journey to find the best Carne Asada in Tucson. I had the burrito with cheese and beans and cabbage. The cabbage was a non-factor, but I guess I would prefer that than getting too much cabbage. The steak itself was juicy, it was high quality, but lacked any seasoning. I think I should go over what makes a great Carne Asada, much like I do burgers. 1. Juicy meat 2. Well seasoned 3. Good cut(no grisle or bones) 4. Tenderness Lomo had the good cut of meat, one of the better I've had actually, it was juicy. And it was fresh. But it was just so bland, I couldn't really take it. It ruined the rest of the positives for me. Now, if it was just this, id give it 3 stars and keep it moving. I might even return and give it another shot. But unfortunately, that's not possible. If you read some of my other reviews, I am VERY intolerant of food safety issues. Anything I witness that can lead to food contamination is an AUTOMATIC one star review and I will call it out every time. That said, when I entered, there was this larger man in a Lomo branded shirt, floating around the entrance. I noticed right away, that he had on food handler's gloves. Which is WEIRD, homeboy was in the front, far away from food. Why are you wearing gloves? And he was touching things, like the register and he handed me a menu when I asked. I let this go, he wasn't even trying to go cook, he seemed distracted with overseeing things. He poked in while I was ordering to make sure the cashier was saying the right things? By the way, the cashier was a bit monotonous, but whatever. Anyway, after my burrito was prepared, the cook(a different guy), pulled the TRASH CAN over closer to him with his gloved hands. He did it twice, actually, the second time to adjust it. He then disappeared in the back. I was hoping he would change his gloves and wash his hands, as that is procedure. But no.....he was back literally 10 seconds later with the same gloves on, fiddling with different items, spreading the germs from the trash can. I thankfully got the burrito before that, but I was disgusted. I was told the restaurant part is new, but food safety is not something you mess up in so badly regardless if you've been operating for 7 days or 7 years. Train your staff, make SURE they know not to do these things. It's inexcusable, much like not salting your meat(well not really, but there's no excuse to why you can't follow handwahsing procedure and salt things). Anyway, I am not coming back. These things are what gets people sick. read more

This is a Tucson gem!! Not only can you buy quality meats to cook at home, they recently opened a restaurant that showcases their delicious meats. The burgers and burritos are cooked to perfection!! They also sell spices, jellies and jams and sauces. We cannot wait to return and I highly recommend you go to their grand opening on March 1. read more

First time at the location, tried that burrito once with Jason Scott at his restaurant that carries Lomo Meats. I was disappointed as the meat was extra salted, not to mention I requested one of the 3 burritos without cabbage for a person that is allergic to cabbage, even the paper was marked as no cabbage that was the only burrito WITH cabbage discovered after the first bite. The lack of attention to this tiny details make a difference on going back or not. After one bite I realized my burrito had no cabbage and switched that for my husbands to avoid any issues. read more

Ate at Lomo Grill and had a burrito off of their secret menu... carne asada and jalapeno poppers! It was so good paired with the house made salsa. The meat was melt-in-your-mouth tender and full of flavor. The steaks were high quality and grilled to the temp we requested. The burger was big and juicy and the bun was good too. My husband loves to grill and smoke meats so we came to Lomo to try to get some fresh meat and support local. I wasn't immediately blown away with the selection and I feel like most of the meat was very dark in color and from the date on the packaging have been sitting for a few days so just felt like it wasn't as fresh as I had expected. I thought their prices were fair for the cuts of meat that they carried, but again was not blown away with the selections that they had. The service was pretty good. The girl that helped us wasn't too knowledgeable, but she was friendly and had way more suggestions for their grocery section than she did for their meats. I spent over $100 on a few different cuts but wasn't so blown away that I'm dying to go back but I probably will give it another chance to see if they have fresh or meat on a different day of the week. read more

I walked in here after visiting UPS next door. I believe it was their soft opening but I was very drawn by the colors and signage. Inside is a spread of jerky's, seasonings, meats, refrigerated cases of things.. salsas. So much to look at! I got some jerky and a seasoning as well which staff helped me pick out. The east side of Tucson is lucky to have Lomo Premium Meats on Wilmot. The meat, which can be grilled inside while you wait, is healthy and delicious, and I love that the cuts have no hormones or antibiotics.
