Small store off the highway on the south side that sells some fresh food, tortillas, a few groceries, fresh condiments for Mexican meals/ snacks (salsas etc), and dry goods. A meat market with pre- packaged meats (appear freshly packaged) at a reasonable price- several cuts and mostly packaged in bulk. My favorite part of the store. a large selection of fresh burritos for a snack or quick breakfast.., you get two decent size burritos of your choice ( and they have a decent selection; steak and potatoes, green chili, etc, etc, etc) and a bean burrito in a small ziplock bag with red and green salsa on the side. My friend and i were in search of carne asada tacos. We came accross this carniceria and were amazed. This place has been a butcher shop for nine years and just recently opened th hot food side. They wer fresh grilling carne asada on a charcoal grill and it tasted excellent You get a choice of flour or corn tortillas and they have a homemade salsa made from these little round chilis (forgot the name, maybe chiltepin?) So good that i took a jar home and i make very good salsa myself. Also, they serve you a little bean taco with every order which I thought was a great touch. My buddy got a sonoran hot dog and he liked the crispiness of the dog and said all the right flavors were there. This has got to be just about the WORST beef market in Tucson! We went in there based on good reviews and instead of a beef market, we found all products pre-packaged and difficult to judge. We wanted a good sirloin or filet style lean cut of beef, but no; so I asked for a thick ribeye. He brought out a T-bone so I said no, a ribeye. "Sorry but we don't handle that". Okay, so what thick steak do you have? So he gets me what looked to be a thick relatively lean package. Sucker me, bought it and it turned out to be that thin folded in on itself thing they call diezmillo. It turned out to be at least a third fat and the rest TOUGH as cardboard! Seemed like a good mom and pop restaurant/meat store. You can order food and also buy meat and a variety of other food, salsa, snacks. I had tried the chicken street tacos and some home made peppered jerky. The tacos were tasty and fresh. I'd recommend. The jerky was also very good. Very different if you're used to the typical gas station stuff and a lot better tasting. Overall I'd rate this place 8/10 I have only ate here once so I can't say for certain how the other food is. read more

Beef Masters "Tutorial": 1. You enter the store go to the fridge pick out some: beef, chicken, pork; your choice of marinated or non. 2. Pick out accompaniments: salsa, cebolla, tortillas(corn or flour, big or small size), and pick out some drinks. 3. Pay for your things. 4. Take outside and they will place it on the impressive charcoal grill. 5. Socialize with the locals and other friendly patrons as you wait for your food to cook. 6. Pick up your delicious BBQ, warmed tortillas and grilled cebollas and package them to take home or plop down and enjoy on the spot. We visited Beef Masters on Fourth of July. Everything in the surrounding area was closed but Beef Masters were open and they were drawing a festive crowd. We went up to the grill and tried to order tacos( many other people did the same) but were told of their unusual meat to grill process. We followed the steps because we were starving and were glad we did because it was an awesome experience! Really cool to kick it with the locals. Another perk was that we had prime seats for the Tucson fireworks show. BBQ and fireworks on Fourth of July with friendly folks, good food and a great atmosphere. Memories were made! read more

Birria tacos were good, Cabeza tacos good. Carne Asada tacos had a weird smell as if meat was old. It was probably the last of last week's batch. Pancakes were good had a Vanilla taste however kind of mushy. We asked for eggs medium well and they were over cooked. read more

This place is great. The food quality is amazing, the selection is sufficient, and the prices are reasonable. What I think sets this place apart is the staff though. I was greeted, asked what I was looking for, suggestions were made, and I got what I came in for. The staff also made recommendations on things I should try next time I drop in. I love that they grill the meat on site, and you can ask them to "marinate" it, it´s actually seasoning it before cooking, you just give them a tip for doing the job for you, 15 min later you have your meat ready to go, they will also do onions, beware, not actual onions, but chives. I love this place, it´s waaaaaaaaaaay cheaper than dining out, and zero mesy and annoying as it would be if you grill it yourself. read more

The market is fine, I love buying my meat or chicken from there no problem. It's the restaurant that I recommend not going too. The ladies there are super rude and In bad moods all the time answering you in a frustrated manner and they advertise " quesa Birria tacos" for $1 and so we asked for 10 and the total was nearly $40 ! Was asked why so much and she said the deals " it's only on Wednesdays " besides the Birria is not even good the soup tasted like water, the restaurant is just not good overall. read more

I love the diesmillo (carne asada) from this place. Their butcher skills are top notch, in that their meat is cut evenly so it's much easier to cook. The meat comes vacuum sealed in 3,5, and 10 pound packages. If you want it marinated, just ask the lady at the counter. It maybe be a touch more expensive than some places around town, but in my opinion it's worth it for the quality and consistency. Also, their chorizo is phenomenal! read more
