(only women answering calls and barely speak English, and are hard to understand) they processed a refund within 48 hours. I then placed another order and their webpage declined my credit card payment so I tried a different card and it went thru. that motor arrived in decent condition. then I received a text from them that another motor was enrout. evidently they put thru another order using my original credit card and now a duplicate order was on its way. they would not cancel delivery, but instructed me to decline delivery, take pictures of in-delivered motore and email them to the warranty dept. I did just that. well now it's been 15 business days and today I spoke to 4 different agents each of which gave me another run around story of how the claim was now in the finance dept for approval. each time I requested to speak to a supervisor and each time I was disconnected. with all the complaints I have seen about this company from people all over the US, is there a way to sue them as a group? read more

Do not do business with this company. They sell engines that have not been tested and will ship you junk. There warranties are useless and they do not stand behind anything. I spent over $8,000 for an engine with a blown head gasket. I spent $6,000 removing the old engine and reinstalling the one that they had provided. When installed and started up it was blowing smoke. After spending another $1,100 for testing and diagnostic on the engine it was confirmed to be a blown head gasket. At that point I submitted a warranty claim and provided all of the documentation to SWENGINES. After a runaround for over a month and no communication except with there call center I was informed that the warranty was voided because I was driving the vehicle. The truck was never driven and never left the shop. I am now left with $15,000 in expenditures and no truck to drive. And now I have to spend the same amount for another engine and labor again for removing and reinstalling. Totally disgusted and financially ill over this whole experience. read more

I ordered an engine. It was not delivered in the promised 10-14 business days. I've now had it a week and it's nothing but a paperweight. I've called numerous times. No one calls back. In fact they don't have any ethics or morals. They have hung up on me and now refuse my calls at all. They don't know how to treat customers. The coil packs were melted onto the plugs. After a few days I got to the plugs and there is no way this engine has run in at least 5 years. The plugs have no tip and are rusted. With the he amount of rust in the cylinders this engine must have sat in the yard for years uncovered. Yeah I'm ticked, even more so that they won't fix the problem. I paid for a 5 year 50,000 mile warranty on a used engine from Southwest Engine Exchange, from Springfield, Mo. It started a light knocking at 4,000 miles. At 7,008 miles my mechanic discovered metal shavings in the oil, and said it was a lifter knocking. Southwest Engine said it was not under warranty. Do not buy a engine from SW Engines. I bought a engine that was supposed to have 75000 miles on it but 145000 was written on the intake manifold. I cost me $1,600 to have it installed and diagnosed to find it had a bad cylinder. After two months of aggravation they sent me a good engine which cost me $1,300 to have installed. I am trying to be reimbursed the $1,300 for the install of the second engine. I am getting the runaround by Sancho Pike in the warranty dept. This company has left us high and dry. We ordered a drop in engine that once received was verified by our auto shop to be incorrect. Both my husband and the shop owner tried several times to contact the company to fix the problem. They were told that the engine would work if they used some different hardware then they just quit answering our calls and emails. We disputed with our CC company, but SW engines told them we disputed before we even received the engine and that we signed something saying we would accept a drop in engine. Apparently the CC company doesn't understand what that means because they denied our dispute and now we are stuck with a 6K bath on an engine we can't use. On 4/27/18 I purchased a 6.0L gasoline engine for my 2011 GMC Savana Van for $2850.00, plus spent $1500.00 to have it installed. It was ordered and paid for on 4/27/18, but did not arrive until 5/21/18. When it arrived, it was painted to look like new (wrong color), but was only a cover-up. It came with a 5 year/50,000 mile warranty, which was not worth the paper it was printed on. After 34,000 miles the engine developed a knock. I have always used Mobil 1 5/30 oil which has been changed at the recommended intervals. After contacting the Warranty Department, I was told the warranty was never activated, which I disputed. They said since it was not activated the warranty period was only 6 month, which has now expired. I asked for a copy of the warranty information and was told that information is only provided to existing customers and since my warranty has expired, I am no longer a customer. They then hung up. This is not over. I will be contacting the local authorities to file a complaint, and pursue every legal option to recover my expenses. Do yourself a favor and find another supplier for your engine and/or transmission needs. I bought a 2003 BMW engine with 63K on it for a lot cheaper than other places selling the same engine with more miles on it. I fitted it in with all of the changes required to keep the warranty active and it started first time and purred like a kitten. After putting in the order I did a search on SW Engines and all I saw were bad reviews. I started to panic and asked them to provide me with the VIN number which they did. I check out the engine and the previous car it was in and everything seemed ok. However, because of the reviews I kept hassling them for more information and I even took out a fraud alert on my credit card just in case the engine turned out to be a dud. When it arrived, it had been painted but thats only cause they wanted it to look clean but the performance was spot on. My shop charged me $2,025.00 for replacing the bad motor. The warranty agent only allowed $500.00 towards the replacement labor. When the engine in our 2004 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon slung a rod, we searched high and low for a new engine, but non were to be found. After talking with several dealerships and mechanics, they suggested a used engine. So, when we found the "Grade A" engine for our Jeep listed on Southwest Engine's website for considerably less than we could get a rebuilt engine we were excited. We read reviews about the company, and despite the overwhelming bad reviews we assumed only people who were upset at the company were posting. So, we ordered the engine for $1850+/-. Their contract states "Delivery within 7-14 business days...". That's bull. After waiting 28 business days - not calendar days - we still had not received the engine we'd paid for over a month earlier! After calling the company EVERY DAY they continued to give us the run-around until we hired an attorney to get involved, due to their breech of contract. After much research by our attorney, he found this company doesn't have an office in CA as their website states, at all. They're acutally based in WI, and go by the name Engine & Transmission World. And, they're being investigated by the BBB and the DOJ for FRAUD! Our attorney issued a breach of contract letter (for $150), and we had to go through Visa to get our money back. The day they received our attorney's letter, they shipped an engine out to us, for which we refused delivery. We didn't feel the engine we were sent was as it should have been. We've turned this information over to the DOJ to aid in their investigation. Steer clear of Southwest Engines (aka SWEngines, Engine & Transmission World, ETW). They have other aliases, too, to evade criminal prosecution. Do your research before dealing with them or any of their other business names. It's a SCAM!! Well I really wish I would have seen these reviews before I ordered my engine, however as I now know the company works under 14 different names and is a complete scam! I received the wrong engine from them over 2 weeks ago and have been trying to get it resolved every since with absolutely no success!!!! They never call back and ignore emails as well!! Besides the fact that it is the wrong engine, it also showed up in a cardboard box with rusted exhaust valves that are so bad you would have to have the heads machined even if it was the right engine!!! Oh yeah supposed to only need to add starter, alternator, and power steering pump, however it is missing way more than that and as I first stated isn't even the right engine for the vehicle!!!! SW Engines promptly sent a truck to pick it up right away after I called and left a message. But I have not herd a peep from them since. Wow, Where to start with this company SW engines. I purchase an engine from them on November 10th 2015, after a week I started receiving emails stating that the engine was being tested and cleaned. Ok two weeks goes by and I continue to recive email, but now they are stating is ready for shipment. Here come November 28th and when I called I spoke to a person named Scott and he says your engine should arrive in 2 days. December 1st and still no engine, I called again and now there saying they can't locate the engine. Ohh wow you can't locate the engine are you kidding me, I talked to them again on December 8th and told them I want a refund, according to them they did the refund on December the 9th and they say wait 3 to 5 business days. December 16th no refund as of yet, I called my bank and they have no idea of what refund I'm talking about. So I called again and this time they tell me they haven't done the refund because they haven't received the engine yet, but are you f~~ kidding me you never sent the engine. So today December 16 the finally submitted the refund because I got an email. Stay away from this company not only the lie to there customers but they don't even know what the hell there doing. This company is a fraud. Believe me not the fake reviews you see saying good things. I ordered an engine then looked at the reviews so I got very worried due to seeing all the bad ones. So I tried to cancel and called my credit card company and couldn't unless I pay 25% restocking fee which I get it since it's in the contract. So I said I'll go through with it. I figured I'd chance it. So I got the engine that was 35k miles supposedly. I found the VIN plate on it and ran a Carfax and Carfax stated the car had 100k on it. So called them up and told them I don't want it. Then I figured to check it out in case they just cut the price and I could use it. So I ran a leak down test to see for leaks in the cylinders and found it was not holding pressure and found a ton of trans fluid in the engine spitting out. Complete fraud and junk. They said it must have been the wrong engine which is an excuse. I have never been through such a terrible buying experience. I returned it and did get my money back. We got the engine installed, the customer picked it up, had it less than a month and was having issues. They brought it back and we found that the heads were warped.
