This is our first time flying with Southwest Airlines. My son who's on the spectrum needed extra time to board the plane so he can settle in. Customer service rep kindly directed us to pre boarding line. We were the first to board the plane. Great start to begin our vacation. We were assigned to the front with extra legroom. Just glad we weren't sitting next to the restroom. Plane was cleaned with friendly flight attendants. During our flight, WiFi is available for rapid rewards members. I suggest you sign up for free otherwise, it's $8 per device. It's not the best WiFi network since it's running through T-Mobile. At certain points, it gets super slow then you have to refresh it manually. Made it very frustrating for us, especially for an autistic child who just wants to watch his favorite movie. Throughout our flight, complimentary snacks and drinks were provided. If you ask for full cans, they will kindly give it to you. Otherwise, they serve the drinks in paper cups and you'll constantly ask for refills. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience. As long we arrived to our Hawai'i destination safely, that's what really matters. Would I choose to fly again with Southwest Airlines? Only if it comes to desperate measures, then that's a maybe.

Well Jasmine has just told us middle seat passengers that we have to assist to open cabin windows if anything were to go down on this plane. Everyone in the middle section had to verbally say yes. That's a bit interesting. I could never be a flight attendant. Even tho they say planes are more safe than cars, I've seen some scary stuff happen on airplanes. I never fly tho. However that's all changing due to me wanting to travel and being invited to travel. Let's see how this flight goes! So far no one is sitting next to me! Thank god.

Flew on Southwest Airlines for the first (and last) time from Long Beach CA to Las Vegas Nevada. When traveling, Delta is the airline of my preference, but since that was not an option I upgraded my tickets to Business Select to be sure we would be comfortable. Our problems with Southwest Airlines started the day before we departed as the Southwest Airlines mobile site was down and their website wasn't allowing me to sign on. So, we checked in on the day of our flight. When we arrived at Long Beach Airport there was pure chaos at the gate. I asked the Gate attendant why there was a crowd of people (50 people or so) at the gate and if there should be somewhere we should be standing in preparation of boarding. The attendant said there was no need to "line up" as the Business Select would be announced and everyone would board all at once. So, my husband and I waited off to the side assuming "Business Select" would be announced first. We were not. The call was made for sections "A 1-30" to board. This was the CROWD of people I mentioned were lined up. Our tickets said A-9... but we had to wait until the entire crowd of people went before us as we had not "lined up". Once we made it on the plane were were shocked that obvious couples were bogarting and entire row by one person sitting in the window seat and the other person sitting in the isle seat. I guess the purpose of this is to hope everyone boards the plane and perhaps the middle seat is empty. Before takeoff that flight attendant came over to my husband and I and asked us to remove our crossbody bags from our person and store them in the overhead bin? We thought this was strange as we've NEVER been asked to remove our fanny packs or crossbody bags on any other flight ever. What struck us was the manner in which the announcement was made. Something to the tune of "remove fanny packs and crossbody bags... yes... if you carried it on... it must be stored"... the tone was very patronizing. After all the boarding drama... dealing with the isle hoarders... and being spoken down to by the flight attendants I was ready to redeem the "One free drink" coupons that came with my airline ticket. When I asked the flight attendant about the drink she said there was only going to be coffee or water offered to EVERYONE. Ok... why did I receive a "free drink ticket" when there would be none offered? Lord. So... we finally made it to Las Vegas. Got out bags and off we went on our adventure. A few days later, it wast time to return home... Again, the mobile site was down but I was able to check in on the Website. I downloaded our passes and off the airport we went. Our driver dropped us in front of Southwest Airlines where we were met by a Southwest representative SCREAMING at all arriving guests instructing us to follow the line of people and stand at the end to check in. As we and other arriving guests asked why... he kept SHOUTING just stand in line to check in! Wow. We followed the line... and the line went all the way down the front of the airport ... turned the corner... and continued around the back of the airport! I was shocked! Once we got to our spot in line I called the Southwest Airlines customer service number to find out what the hell was going on. The representative explained that the conveyer belt system was broken in Las Vegas and as such, all checked bags are being processed manually. Needless to say, we were going to miss our flight. The agent on the phone helped us to reschedule our flight for 3-hours later. We ended up waiting in line almost 2-hours... myself and other guests literally had to open our luggage to find jackets as it was cold. Once we checked in we made our way to our gate and guess what... it was chaos again! This time we wised up and decided to stand at the front of the lines. What was absolutely shocking and down right absurd was when the gate agent started boarding. He called for guests that required "assistance" at that moment a group of about 30 people made their way to the gate. Two people were in wheelchairs (these I understood)... a few were families with babies in strollers... and a handful of people were guests with weight issues... this I didn't understand so much. What I didn't understand further was that these people... guests in wheelchairs... babies... overweight guests were all allowed on first and EVERYONE in their travel party was allowed on BEFORE guests that paid for business select. How is that possible? Other airlines do allow wheelchair guests on first... but not their entourage of 10 traveling with them. Well... as before... we survived the onboarding process... we observed the same bogarting of rows of seats accompanied by unfriendly stares ... we found our seats.... and immediately, the flight attendant announced there would be NO beverage service at all on the flight. Again... I stared down at my airline ticket wondering why a drink is promised if it's not going to be offered.

General review for LB airport Southwest. Always like flying southwest. Pretty much Self service, checking in, tagging bags & seating which keeps costs down. Just wanted to comment about LB Airport. Smaller airport which I absolutely loved. super easy for getting car rental, which was across the street. Getting ride share pick up which was in the middle island. Only 2 main Gates that I noticed which was either left or right. Would fly to and from here again if going to Disney

Flight home was half full so we had time for a snack they offered both items lol

I been using Southwest for a while now especially out of Long Beach. I mainly use them for Vegas since it's easy and convenient only issue is prices at certain times, usually going home from Vegas it's always delayed. They still use the first come first serve seating no assigned seating. You have to get your boarding pass group 24 hours in advance to get the better group. You can also pay extra to upgrade your boarding pass to get priority boarding. Staff however are excellent I have had no issues with them. Overall a good airline for me others may disagree but it's ok.

I'm a total SWA fan, and have been for decades! Seriously, I fly Southwest, out of Long Beach specifically, whenever I can. I know it's not fancy, but if you're looking for a good, solid flight crew, stability and security, and free stuff, SWA is the way to go. I flew on Thanksgiving this year AND a few days before Christmas. I flew to Minneapolis, (which is never a direct flight, but I don't care as long as I can fly from Long Beach and not LAX) right before Thanksgiving to be with family for a couple of weeks (and my new grandson was born while I was there!!), and then picked up my 4 year old grandson to bring back to CA with me. Flying with a small child is rarely easy, but the crew on SWA flights are always so kind. They treated him special, gave him "wings" and colored pencils and an activity book. They let him order his own drinks and brought him extra snacks. And the gates in all the airports we were in (Long Beach, Phoenix, Denver, Minneapolis) we totally decked out with fun and playful decor. I brought my grandson to CA to stay with me for a couple of weeks, but then I got COVID! I had to change my flight twice to bring him back home and it was looking like he might miss Christmas with his family!!! I finally got better and I called SWA again to see if I could get him home ASAP, and they helped me get another flight out for us both for a little more than 11,000 extra Southwest Rewards points (a few days before Christmas!!!) and a return flight for me the next day, so we both got where we needed to go with no problem!!! The Christmas and holiday decor at the SWA airports gates were hands down the best in the airport. Lots of places for my little guy to take photos and play. The flights were ALL on time, and not oversold like some airlines do. So, we got great seats, lots of attention, kind service, free luggage (no fees), and extra snacks. What more can you ask for???? I LOVE SWA. #iFlySWA

Delta has 3 daily round trip flights, using an Embraer 175 aircraft. It has 12 first class seats (3 across, with seat A being a solo seat), 20 Comfort Plus (4 across, no middle seats) and 34 Main (same as Comfort Plus with less seat pitch). The size of the overhead bins are variable with the ones above the solo seat not deep enough to hold any sort of luggage except personal handbags and jackets (e.g. my laptop bag couldn't be stowed above). The plane stays overnight in Long Beach (e.g. the first flight is LGB to SLC, last SLC to LGB)...any delays propagates to subsequent flights. That being said, the last SLC to LGB flight of the day (ours) was right on time. The two hour flight was good. We were notified by the Delta App in Salt Lake City that we had both been upgraded to First Class, giving us a little bit more space. I was curious how much more First Class was, and noticed it was about 50% more. The upgraded seats did provide us complementary alcohol, bottled water, and bagged snacks. There are no video screens on the flight, and wi-fi still uses the old system that requires payment. Upgrading these regional jets is low on the priority list. It was great seeing the Long Beach skyline from the air as we flew in from the SE.

Overall the plane ride was good -- service was OK -- and I'm so thankful my family landed safely after enduring 2 hours of a tearful toddler feeling miserable on the flight. So rather than pay an astronomical fee for the privilege of proximity, I did a quick search of the area. There are plenty of options, but many of them just seemed suspect. The I came across the Varden. Definitely a boutique hotel, but definitely worth checking out. The rooms are typically small with barely room for a bed, a partial desk and a small bathroom area. But the room was extremely clean, the fixtures and bed were new and cool and for one person, really perfect. Particularly since other than sleeping and checking emails, what else do you really need? Well, for starters you need to feel safe. And this place does a great job of securing the facility at night, but you don't feel you're in a bad neighborhood anyway. You also might like to enjoy a welcoming attitude, and the staff and place has plenty of that. The young staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. Being forewarned that the property has 3 levels and no elevator is important, but honestly, it's not a tough climb to floor 3. And as a testament at how great the staff are, they wouldn't take no, and they carried my bags to my 3rd floor room. Since I was there for meetings, I needed to press my clothes, so a call to the front desk resulted in a brand new Iron and Board appearing at my room within minutes. And being welcomed by a reception with snacks, wine and drinks between 5:00 - 7:00 everyday, is just super nice. They also do a continental breakfast from 6:00-9:00 daily. They have a hip space right behind the registration area for these treats so it's easy to walk through on your way in/out of the property. And best of all the price per night was less than 1/2 of what those big chain hotels were charging. And I was less than 4 blocks (and a very nice walk past lots of local stores/restaurants to give me a feel for the area) from the Convention Center. For all these reasons, if you're in Long Beach solo, I would highly recommend you check out the Varden.

I decided to use them when the international connections and requirements became more than I could manage while working a high stress job (who needs more stress planning a vacation?). The advantage of their services were immediately apparent but became a Godsend when - unfortunately - my father became gravely ill and I was contemplating sending my family ahead of me, and then connecting with them somewhere mid-trip (depending on how my father was doing). The team was immediately helpful, offering a variety of flight options depending on when exactly I planned to connect with my family. The second trip (in 2025) involved flight itineraries to the Isle of Man, connecting through Manchester. The flights needed to be at a certain time in order to catch a ferry to the Isle of Man. Furthermore, between booking the flight and the actual travel day, there were changes in requirements for those passing through Great Britain - something that we would not have really known about if someone in the travel industry did not bring it to our attention. Next year, we will likely do a multi-city trip to Europe and we will definitely use them again to book the flight to and within that continent!

Dropped off my parents for there cruise…read more It was extremely packed, lots of cars, kind of stressful to see. The great thing was they had excellent employees routing the traffic to different lanes to help the traffic flow so much better. As soon as we parked at drop off an employee got a cart and started putting my parents luggages on it. Extremely helpful, and patient with my parents. I was probably in and out in maybe about 15 minutes. From waiting in line to get in, to the drop off, unloading and leaving.

Very easy to access cruise terminal used by Carnival Cruise Lines…read more Lots of parking via the multi level parking structure, and helpful porters, I would tip $1+ per bag checked. Just drop off passengers and luggage and then park if driving to the port. On my sailing there were numerous lines dependent on both scheduled boarding time, and loyalty status with Carnival $CCL. If standing in a line is a physical issue make that clear to the staff directing the cruise guests. It took more than 30 minutes to board, but once inside the terminal the air is slightly cooled. FYI, review the current item / beverage restrictions / limitations. In my case a white noise generator was removed from my checked bag because it was mistaken for an audio speaker. Overall a positive experience both boarding and departing, with easy to navigate ramps and clear direction in the terminal, and large ample elevators in the garage.
