On Cerritos Ave, apparently there is off street parking, but I parked on 10th St in the 30-minute parking, green painted curb since I came from eastbound 10th Street and would have never known unless I came from westbound approaching Cerritos. LOCATION. Lock your doors and clutch tight to your purse. Mind your jewelry. As I waited, two LBPD cars had already made their patrols of the area. High police presence and houses with bars on the windows usually equates to a high crime area. BUSINESS. Received my wired money after the lady, I don't know her name, texted me to come through the side when I texted I was out front and the steel gates were padlocked. She neither introduced herself or any indica of her affiliation. She asked me the name of the person who wired the money and how much was wired, and that's about it. Didn't ask me my name, verify my identity or anything. Gave me money, told me to count it. Nothing less, nothing more. Granted, I wasn't asked for five-star service, but still... they operated out of a garage off Cerritos. Not sure what to think. I'll have to pass on using their services just because I'm not into that don't ask, don't tell nonsense. Business is business, and it was not a comfortable experience for me to be handed money without verification. Google maps indicated this business as being "permanently closed" but I'll suggest an edit to that.

My family had purchased airline tickets from LAX to Phnom Penh, Cambodia through this agency, and when we heard of the arrest, we called to confirm reservations with the airline. I was told that the airline did not receive payment for the seats listed on our itinerary! I went to the business to see what contact info was listed, but saw that there was a posting by the building management that the storefront was deemed abandoned due to non-payment of rent. Additional information was posted to contact the Long Beach Police Department to file a police report. Inside was completely vacated except for debris and trash strewn about the floor. So.. after leaving there, I found out my dad had bought calling cards from Cambodia Express. Tried them out to find that all nine cards had accounts that were suspended! Boo!! to this business... also beware of their sister business from which they branched off of--PHNOM PENH EXPRESS & WATER. It is owned by the same family.

I told her that we didnt receive the money she said that I would have to contact the agency. Sure enough the number that was given to us was cancelled. I finally called the Long Beach Police Department and left a message with the detective whos in charge of the case. Will we receive anything back from them??? I highly doubt it. I noticed that this particular terminal is the home for other cruise lines as well, including Princess Cruises, Holland America Line, and Seabourn Cruise Line. Before I was able to successfully board the Carnival Radiance ship, I had options to either drop off the luggage with the porters or take the luggage with me. I decided to take my bags just so I can have them readily available. Next, I proceeded to the "Arrival Appointment On Time" where my designated boarding time was set for 12:30 PM on May 14th. The line was moving at a fair pace and it didn't take long. At the first station, a Carnival employee checked the boarding pass and respective identification, whether it was an ID + birth certificate or just solely the passport. Furthermore, items were screened through security. Lastly, the walk to the cruise was a bit of a distance. Then, it was an ease to board the cruise. I loved the presentation of the indoor space. It had a bunch of fun Carnival wall signage, airplane decor, etc. The workers inside the cruise terminal were firm and straightforward with the customer service. The building space was spacious and clean. The Long Beach Cruise Center can get crowded easily at peak hours of pick up and/or drop off. It was crowded with many vehicles upon returning on May 19th. Thankfully, I had a ride-share that picked me up at an alternative location nearby to beat the traffic. The Long Beach Cruise Center gets the job done when it comes to accessing cruise vacations.

The great thing was they had excellent employees routing the traffic to different lanes to help the traffic flow so much better. As soon as we parked at drop off an employee got a cart and started putting my parents luggages on it. Extremely helpful, and patient with my parents. I was probably in and out in maybe about 15 minutes. From waiting in line to get in, to the drop off, unloading and leaving.

Life on the Ship: Once I'm on a Carnival cruise ship, it's time to eat, relax, and start enjoying vacation mode while waiting for the rooms to be ready! I've sailed on the Panorama, Firenze, Radiance, and a few others whose names I can't remember, LOL! I'm perfectly happy with an interior room. I once had a balcony, but honestly, I barely used it because I'm usually all over the ship, enjoying everything there is to do! Things to Do: Make sure you download the Carnival HUB app! It keeps you updated on everything happening around the ship, from activities and entertainment to events you don't want to miss. There's truly something for all ages, so you'll never be bored! Food: The food is always a highlight for me! There are so many options, from the buffet and dining room to specialty restaurants and other food choices available for an additional, often reasonable, fee. And let's not forget the FREE pizza and ice cream -- always two of my favorites! Overall Experience: I genuinely enjoy traveling with Carnival. One thing I really appreciate is the hard work of the crew members. These amazing workers spend months away from home, working onboard and doing their best to provide great service and make our vacations memorable. That deserves recognition and appreciation!
