01-20-2026 Great experience flying out of Long Beach CA airport. Check in was a breeze along with TSA access. 10 minutes flat! Inside the Airplane. Outlets were avaliable for a long flight but keep on mind, you need a plug outlet that connects to your device. Snacks were provided with a complimentary alcoholic punch beverages along with an egg sandwich. Overall, I would fly out of Long Beach Airport to take Hawaiian Airlines going to Maui. 4 stars, since an LCD entertainment screen was not available. Mahalo read more

My wife and I have been using Hawaiian airlines for about 20 years. We go to Maui every year and ALWAYS use HA. Now that Alaska Airlines has merged, they have changed for the WORST!! My wife and her friend just went to Kauai and we paid an extra $250 for them to have extra leg room, drinks, etc.. They got NOTHING that we were told we would get by paying extra. When my wife brought this to their attention she was ignored. I am 62 years old and we travel a lot. This is my first time ever complaining about travel. SO disappointed in the service. NO MORE ALOHA SERVICE on Hawaiian Airlines!! They might as well rename to HAWAIIAN SPIRIT Airlines. Then at least you know you are getting shitty service instead of being swindled into it. Never flying with them again and getting rid of Hawaiian Master Cards. read more

Flew Hawaiian airlines first class yesterday from Maui into Long Beach airport. Flight was smooth, safe and the pilot's communicated well regarding what to expect upon departure and before arrival. Minimal turbulence. Kid had a rough time & was crying on the plane due to skin infection but I was able to cope through the 4 hour 40 min flight by comforting him at the front of the cabin and we also stayed in the restroom for some time. First class passengers were accommodating for the most part and we had staff that helped with bandages and drinks. I did not get to experience the Hawaiian meal service since I was so exhausted from carrying my child the entire time. Didn't eat at all. Guess I'll have to look forward to that next time. Forgot my phone in row 1 upon landing but their cleaning crew came to hand me the phone after baggage claim ended. Overall the plane ride was good -- service was OK -- and I'm so thankful my family landed safely after enduring 2 hours of a tearful toddler feeling miserable on the flight. At least we had some quiet time for the other 3 hours while he slept from crying too much. Phew - just relieved the entire episode is over. read more

I usually fly Hawaiian and think that they're pretty good. I have their credit card, so I rack up points for free trips. They're usually on time, flight attendants are nice and the planes are clean. The complimentary turkey croissant breakfast sandwich this morning wasn't bad, plus they have cans of Aloha Maid juices. The seating room is a little tighter compared to other airlines. You have to pay a little extra if you want to pick your seat in advance. If you opt for the cheaper ticket, you'll be assigned a seat by Hawaiian. It really is much better flying out of Long Beach than LAX. It has way less people and you don't have to walk as far to get to your gate. read more

Hawaiian Airlines is the only one we utilized for our annual trips to Oahu and Maui. My son who's on the spectrum loves this airline really familiar with the plane. He's so in love with Hawaii just like his mama and when he wants to visit Oahu or Maui, he'll let me know we need to get on Hawaiian Airlines. Staff are always so nice accommodating us when needed, especially when they realized my son is autistic. I had an incident a few times due to my son's meltdown. He got really impatient from 6 hours flight determined to land in Hawaii as soon as possible. Therefore, staff insisted to help me in any way possible without judgment. Thought it was so kind of them to do so when they aren't obligated. Our experience flying on Hawaiian Airlines is always delightful. Love the complimentary Koloa Rum POG cocktails, juices, water, cookie, Maui Chips, and hot indulging sandwiches they provide on each flight. Now they have free WiFi where you can watch your favorite movies and shows on Netflix or listen to music. Such a lifesaver throughout the long flight. We will continue to fly with this airline as long it takes us back to Hawaii. Mahalo! read more

Horrible experience this trip and we are frequent Hawaiian travelers. We booked two seats and upgraded our Hawaii bound seat to first class using miles. We repeatedly checked the status of our seats leading up to our flight. Less than 24 hours before our flight we checked again and my wife's seat had a problem. The agent that booked the seat screwed it up so my wife had NO seat, let alone a first class seat. No explanation. "Sorry, nothing we can do". The seat was given away to someone else. We can stick you back in coach". This is the only flight out on this day and we have hotel and transportation booked in Hawaii. Unacceptable. Extremely disappointed and upset over this experience. read more

Gosh I was surprised to see such a low rating for this airline. I recently flew Hawaiian Airlines for the first time in February 2023. We went on a family vacation to Maui from Long Beach Airport {THEE best airport everrrr}!! From the moment we walked onto the plane I was happy and relaxed. They had soft Hawaiian music playing as we boarded. Everyone working on the plane was so friendly and helpful. They served a complimentary meal, which was pretty tasty, and some AMAZING Pineapple Passion Rum drink that I instantly fell in love with. *drool* I found out that it is nowhere to be found locally here in/near Long Beach. *crying* I digress.... I would fly Hawaiian Airlines again in a heart beat, especially if it's out of Long Beach Airport!! read more

I've been on an airplane hundreds of times and trust me I've had my share of awful experiences but using Hawaiian Airlines flying to Oahu wasn't one of them, I had the best flight going to and coming from. Hawaiian Airlines had a special for $199 roundtrip and I just couldn't pass up on this offer so I booked our flight and 48 hours late we're on our way to Hawaii! Everything from checking in to to getting on board was easy. Our flight departed a few minutes late but arrived in Oahu early so no complaints there. The plane was clean, the seats were comfy and the entire staff was great to us. I'm not one to constantly ask for stuff anyways when on a plane but the one time I did ask for a beverage they came to me immediately and were very pleasant. The stewardess even spent time doing small talk with us before the plane land giving us suggestions around the island. Coming back was also a great experience with a smooth flight as well. We've flown on Hawaiian Airlines a few times but this was the first time flying out of LGB instead of LAX and all experiences so far have been really great. I definitely can't wait to fly with them again. It's an easy five stars from me. read more

i'm pretty sure we've been conditioned to accept so much worse by now, but our experience flying in and out of long beach/honolulu on hawaiian airlines was just fine, if not pleasant the food they serve in the main cabin is nothing to write home about (is it ever?), but the upholstery on the seats look clean and new enough, and everything went pretty smoothly overall for us, since lgb is such a great little airport in its own right we arrived about 90 minutes prior to take off and after parking, checking a bag and going through security, we got to the gate more or less just as boarding began. walking up a ramp to your airplane is also a nice little photo op/souvenir as well! :) read more

This strictly a review of Hawaiian Airlines...I would give 10 stars to both the HA crew from LGB and traveling from LGB (the ONLY way to travel from the mainland to Hawaii!) Something terrible has happened to HA the last 3 years, might be because of the financial loss due to Covid, but nonetheless, extremely poor business practices to make more money. I understand that all companies are trying to make up the money that was lost. They no longer serve "meals" on HA, they are simply very small sandwiches. I understand that cuts have to be made, so this doesn't bother me. What is NOT acceptable is changing flights without any notifications to the travelers! And I mean NO NOTIFICATIONS THAT THE FLIGHT HAD TO BE CHANGED!! IF I'm "lucky", I may get another confirmation email with the new itinerary (with no indication in the subject line that this is a revised confirmation). One flight was a return flight from Kauai to LGB, with a connecting flight to Maui. I never get a flight before 9 AM because it means rushing early in the morning. I just happen to check our flight information 3 months before our trip and happened to notice our return flight was before 9 AM! Called HA and they said our original flight was cancelled. Wow, and NOTHING was sent to inform me?? My most recent incident is our direct flight from LGB to Maui was changed to a stopover to O'ahu. Once again, no notification that there was a change, just a confirmation email! HA support person gave a lame reason of "maintenance issues". Really? My flight doesn't leave for another 4 months! I personally believe that the direct flights to Maui aren't getting filled so they've just decided to cancel them. I agree with so many others that are saying Hawaiian Airlines company has no idea of the true meaning of Aloha ,l read more

Our flight from Los Angeles to Auckland was lovely. However, getting back was another story. We had to return early due to a family illness of great severity. We had not purchased trip insurance on our flight because we were guaranteed that the flight was refundable. Hawaiian had no flights available for our early return, so we booked a different airline. At that point we found out our flight was not refundable because we had used one leg of it. We could only get a credit. Okay-- now we're trying to use that credit, but must talk to an agent to do so. It took so long to book 2 seats, that by the time he booked the third the price had gone up. Also, this flight is way cheaper than our credit, their policy is the credit is good for one flight only, no matter the cost. We cannot use the balance for another flight. So, we're out $4,000 and we were on the phone for nearly 2 hours! I'll think twice before using this airline again. read more

Hawaiian Airlines recently added Long Beach airport to their list of destinations. My friend, Jeff, messaged me with the news and highly recommended this airport as an option to LAX. I received an email from Hawaiian Airlines announcing this new route and even offered a lower introductory price to encourage passengers to try Long Beach airport. Of course, I had to book a flight! This is my favorite airline! The Rewards program is great. I get extra miles when I use the Hawaiian Airlines charge card; when I purchase from certain vendors; and when I shop at designated malls. I apply the miles when I book a trip and get a discounted fare. I also can use miles only and just pay the taxes and fees (less than $12 total!). Hawaiian Airlines also proudly states that they are the only airline to offer a complimentary meal. I appreciate the hot sandwiches, chips, soft drinks (and water, coffee, and tea), Koloa Rum Punch, chocolate covered macadamia nuts, and pretzels. The airplane that we boarded was an A-321-neo. It had WiFi which linked up to movies and music. I just downloaded the Hawaiian Airlines entertainment app before I boarded the plane. I didn't want to pay for a movie, so I chose the audio option. The music selection was great to me. Besides country and classical music, they offered rock/pop. I listened to Prince, Coldplay, Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, Simon and Garfunkel, Pearl Jam, and The Thompson Twins. My favorite was Kenny Loggins...it made me want to go karaoke! I earned the Gold Pualani status for being a loyal customer. Admission to the Premier Club lounges (free beverages and snacks, free wifi, and clean restroom), free check-in baggage, early boarding, and specially tagged luggage (first out) are some of the benefits. The service is friendly and efficient. I feel like the flight attendants really have the Aloha Spirit. They are really what make flying on Hawaiian Airlines so special! read more

We had a flight from Sydney to Honolulu and then to Long Beach and our baggage was not there and everything was closed because it was the last flight. Our flight from Sydney to Honolulu was delayed which caused our baggage not to get to the plane in enough time. I left a message with baggage claim in Honolulu and returned to Hawaiian Airlines LBX on Saturday being told there was a flight coming in by the Bor and his Security staff were awesome. I was assisted by Monica and Julie they confirmed my baggage was arriving in Long Beach flight 70 it was diverted to LAX from the bad weather. Unfortunately I had to wait 5 hours but thanks to Monica and Julie at HA they confirmed bus was coming with my items and they even went out to bring my suit cases in the rain from the bus so Kudos to the Staff for their assistance. All my items were recovered. read more

Airlines typically have low ratings, so I was not surprised when I saw the low average rating for HA in Long Beach, I was not surprised as I have rated airlines low as well. Firstly, the ability to fly to Hawaii from Long Beach rather than LAX is such a huge plus since LGB is a smaller airport and much easier to navigate than LAX. Second, the fares are the same price. One downside is the limited number of direct flights on a daily basis. Boarding took a little longer than I was hoping, but it was mostly due to all the families bringing their kids and hauling what felt like hundreds of carry-on items. The flight crew was friendly. There was also an in-flight meal free-of-charge, which was nice. They do have in-flight entertainment, but you need to download the HA app ahead of time, before take-off. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would definitely use it again. read more

I should have start looking at YELP before booking with Hawaiian airlines. Customer service sucks, the wait time for call is minimum 2hrs. Calls are unresolved, they promise to give you a refund and failed to disclose a $50 service fee. I lost $300 with my reservations. I requested a full refund, they granted via email twice. Took over a month to refund, called about 5x Plus numerous emails to get it resolved. Once the refund hits the account, I was shocked it was short $300. It is for "service fees" they say, wow! Very expensive service fees for incompetent people working there. I read the email to the supervisor and "I requested a full refund", they confirmed via email twice that a refund has been processed BUT they failed to mention on it is minus the $300 bucks service fees. I went on vacation to Sydney, Australia with my sister and cousin last Feb 6 to 17, 2023. Our flight via Hawaiian Airlines left the Long Beach airport at around 7:30am last Feb. 6, 2023. We landed in Honolulu, Hawaii on the same date at around 11:45am (Hawaii time). Our flight to Sydney, Australia is scheduled to leave Honolulu at around 50 min from the time we landed. We were almost running in order for us to be at the gate for our next flight. Fortunately, we got to the gate in time. Our flight to Sydney was alright with just a few bumps along the way. When we landed in Sydney, Australia we went straight to the Baggage Claim right after the Customs Declaration. Almost every checked-in luggage had gone through the carousel but ours were still missing. The Baggage Claim personnel radioed the people unloading the cargo from the plane to check if there are still luggage left in the aircraft. It was confirmed that no more luggage in the plane. We were told that our luggage did not leave Honolulu, Hawaii with us on the plane. We were advised that we can have our luggage on the next Hawaiian Airlines flight from Honolulu to Sydney and that flight will be in two days after. That was so wrong! Our clothes, medicines including Insulin, High Blood Pressure medicines, CPAP mmachine, etc are all in our checked-in luggage. I had to buy clothes to wear, bought medicines, had to pay extra for our rides to do the errands, and all the toiletries we need while waiting for two days before our luggage get to us. It was so disappointing and frustrating and very inconvenient for us without our luggage. We left Sydney at 9:40pm on Feb 17, 2023 (Friday) via Hawaiian Airlines and landed in Honolulu on time. This time, our next flight is a little over 2hrs from the time we landed. We boarded our flight to ONT on time and landed at around 8pm on the same date Feb 17, 2023. Same thing happened again. Our luggage did not show up. We were told that our luggage did not fly with us from Honolulu. Unbelievable! Hawaiian Airlines did this to us twice! I wrote a complaint to Hawaiian Airlines about their unprofessionalism and mishandling of our luggage. But no response from them whatsoever. This is so unfair. So wrong! IF YOU ARE FLYING ANYWHERE, PLEASE THINK TWICE AND AVOID FLYING WITH HAWAIIAN AIRLINES. read more

I usually drop shitty reviews on Tue. However, Hawaiian responded last night one month after my complaint (talk about Hawaiian time!). They offered me $100 off my next flight: As you can tell from my rating, I didn't like their response. I flew from HNL to LGB (Long Beach). However, when I tried to check in the night before, I noticed I did not have a seat assignment. I called Hawaiian, and they said they could give me a seat assignment over the phone, but I had to upgrade and pay $80. My other option was to try to chance a seat at the gate, and who knows where they would have seated me. To add insult to injury, we were told the flight would be delayed 15 min. The 15 min turned into almost an hour w/o an explanation. Lastly, Hawaiian touts itself as the only airline that offers a meal: Not on this flight! The pilot arbitrarily decided to cancel meal service in coach. I didn't buy my normal Zip Pak, so luckily I had a Cup O Noodle. The only food available for purchase was overpriced AF snack food. The pilot tried to make it up by offering a free movie and a serving of Koloa rum punch. I told the flight attendant I wasn't falling for this inadequate offer. Mai'a (Fuk U) Hawaiian Airlines!!!!! You can honi ko'u 'elemu (kiss my ass). I'm never flying your piece of shit airline again! read more

It's amazing how bad they have gotten I would give negative stars if I could. They used to provide a little meal on flights to Oahu with a cookie. Now they throw you a crappy little sandwich that tastes awful. I know Covid affected them but it's become a bus service in the air. We took them internationally and they were very good on the same trip. I guess the Hawai'i routes are popular and not as competitive so they don't care anymore. They tried to be nice when we finally got off the plane in Long Beach but it was too late. Plane was crowded crying babies and no leg space. I remember when they were special not anymore, read more

I was not able to find HA counter. all the check in counters were foreign flag Airlines. I found HA self check in kiosk but it was out of order. My flight was delayed for 5 hours. I know the delay happens. My problem was the airplane was going to arrive my home airport at 2 in the morning. No one couldn't pick me up, no public transportation available . We went to Big Island to welcome the New Year last year. Our return flight made us go to Honolulu first before returning to Los Angeles. On the day of our flight, I received multiple text messages/updates that our connecting flight to Los Angeles will be delayed. When we got to the ticket counter in BiG Island, I asked the usual questions of whens our next flight and what are our seat numbers. The crew basically gave each other a look and told me that Honolulu will deal with it when we get there. I also got a half assed reassurance that since our morning flight from Waikoloa was delayed, our connecting flight would be delayed as well. But they would not give me my seat assignments that I already paid for for the connecting flight. As soon as we got to Honolulu, I got a text stating that our revised connecting flight is delayed. But the original connecting flight left on time. They left us stranded in the airport for 8 hours. Long story short, I wrote an email to customer service and they gave us flight credits. Fast forward to a year, I tried to use the credits for our annual trip to Hawaii but found out that they had an expiration date. I wrote an email to customer service and followed up with them weeks later. They basically told me to just keep waiting. Multiple phone call and emails to customer service were just met with a JUST KEEP WAITING answer. I even went as far as emailing the CEO and a couple other "higher ups" but I guess that the customer service department reflects the mantra of the people that run this company. I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ONE RESPONSE FROM ANY DEPARTMENT IN THIS COMPANY. ALOHA SPIRIT MY A$$. They pride themselves with having a great customer service oriented business but cannot even respond to a customers concern at an appropriate time. The last time i called they said that they were responding to emails sent Feb. 19th. I then asked what about the email I sent on Feb. 1st. I got silence and the please be patient and just wait. It has been more than 3 months and nary one reply aside from the auto generated email response when you first make contact. Guess what the generated response was? "Please wait for them to contact you" I know that there are other options to fly to the Islands. But Hawaiian airlines never disappointed us before. Until now. I know that a family of four flying other airlines will not make a dent in their annual revenues. But please don't claim Aloha spirit and great customer service when it is absolutely nonexistent. read more

We flew flight 72 from Maui to Long Beach. The employees we encountered at every phase were courteous. However, our full flight included a couple of people traveling with cats on board. The airline never informed the passengers that there were cats on board, which would have cause me to switch flights as someone who has an allergy to cats. I actually sat worried on the flight that my son, which is too young for the vaccine, might have contracted COVID in Hawaii, only to see the cats at baggage claim in Long Beach. If airlines are going to allow people to travel with their pets (these were not service animals) then they should at least disclose to their passengers that this is happening and offer alternative flight arrangements to those passengers that are allergic to animals. Well what can one say about a crappy customer service airline in Long beach and Honolulu. On our outbound flight to Oahu this morning 1/17/20 at 7 am our plane had to shutdown one engine and we had to return to Long Beach AP. So it's now 9:00 pm departure now tonight 1/17/20 and landing in Honolulu at 1:10 a.m. While waiting 10 hours we never were offered a lunch or dinner voucher unless we asked. No announcement was made. We boarded the plane at 8:40 pm and during our flight I asked if my husband and I could sit in some occupied seats that had more leg room. NO was the answer! That will cost you $80 each! When we landed in Honolulu at 1:30 a.m. our car rental was closed so we wondered the Airport for 4 hours. Hey wouldn't give a hotel voucher when asked. While at airport we were hopeful the Hawaiian Airlines lounge would welcome 2 tired senior citizens but again NO! Get out! Lots of we are sorry but no Aloha kindness. I was told by Jet Blue personnel at Long Beach AP that Hawaiian Airlines has horrible customer service so don't hold out for any help. What's mahalo? I haven't even flown out yet I'm throughly disgusted with this airlines. My flight is May 5th 2021 and so disappointed with poor customer service and inflexible policy. I found out my flight is over $290 (2 passengers) cheaper today than when I bought them in February. I really wanted to buy early and support the economy and the airlines industry. Well they taught me never trust and never but early. What's worse is I paid extra to get the roomier seats with more leg room. When I asked to change flight they told me the $160 per passenger was non transferable to future flights , I couldn't even apply that amount to first class. There is no flexibility and c/s is horrible with their explanations. I challenged the rep to the policy and he could not point it out to me in the ticket information.
