Nice little family diner for a quick bite! Big portions with reasonable prices, great service and the food came out FAST and hot! I had the fish and chips which delicious, and the batter was crispy but not heavy- just the way I like it! Their soups are homemade, and the chicken noodle soup was very good! My grandson got me some takeout chili from southside. I didn't eat it that same night. I waited till the next day to heat it up and it never did look like chilly. It looked like refried beans. It was a thick paste. It was actually disgusting. I could not eat it. read more

When they hired a short order cook they got a magician. Omelette was fluffy without undercooking the potatoes and onions inside. Sausage links were not pink inside without being over crisp outside. Portion size was great. Servicexwas polite. read more

This is the second time I ate here. The first time was not worth writing about, not good or bad, just not memorable. Today on the other hand, I was very impressed with my pancakes. Today is my brother-in-law's birthday, and since his passing, we've all gotten together to have Brinner, breakfast for dinner, and we all get is favorite, Pancakes! We usually go to Cracker Barrel, but this year the family is dispersed, so we're all on our own for Pancakes. The Pancakes were light, fluffy, with a hint of vanilla, and good enough to eat sans syrup. Although I did partake in the syrup every couple of bites. I went here with my son, nephew and sister.. it's less than a mile from my house and I never thought of going there til recently. It's your average Greek themed coney/diner. It's got lots of seats, it's clean, and the people are friendly. Menu is pretty tiny... but the staples are there. The spinach omelet I had was actually so good then I shouted "YES!" when my sister asked me if it was!! LOL The food came out so freaking fast, Hash in a can... This is one of my biggest no-nos, but other than that pretty fuckin stellar breakfast!! /Breakfast!! read more

Friendly staff and prompt service. Food is hit or miss with some dishes being great and some just passable. The decor is typical with an updated floral display in the center of the room BUT you'll find rips in the upholstery and the bathrooms need major work on the wall and floor tile. Since opening it's doors a few years back, it has become a staple in the neighborhood The building itself sat empty for many years after the closing of My Johnny's, and one day suddenly was opening for business. It was like Willy Wonka's factory suddenly coming to life again. And did it ever take the community by surprise. The food was absolutely amazing. And that is reason number one, the food. The Southside Grill is of course like most normal restaurants, with a menu full of plain (yet trusty) meals. But they do a good job of making each entree delicious. I have yet to eat something that I did not enjoy. The owner himself is frequently in and helping around the restaurant, which gives the place a great local feel to it. Back when I was in high school, I would have dinner there at least once a week. To date, I have yet to find a place that makes better fish and chips. Lately construction on 9 mile has made access to the restaurant difficult, and the sales are down. But if it's a good meal in a clean restaurant that you're looking for, make the extra effort, because there aren't too many restaurants like this left. read more

Friendly environment nice waitresses and great american/greek food just like a coney island but with more love in the food. They have great lemon rice soup and pitas/sandwiches. Stopped in here last night for the first time after doing some shopping. It's a basic place, with a basic menu. What's not basic is the cost, flavor and portions! My boyfriend got the chicken tender dinner, it came with strips, fries and soup or salad. It was fresh and delicious. I got the fish n chips dinner. The fish was HUGE and so amazing. Neither of us finished our dinner and brought the leftovers home and our kids jumped all over them. The food was toddler approved also, and we all know how picky kids are. If I could give them more stars I would, we will definitely be back. We can't wait to try the breakfast. read more

they have the worlds best burger, its a secret though, its not on the menu, but its a huge bacon barbecue cheese burger with crispy onion straws and its so huge, you wont be able to finish it, its amazing, i cant remember what they call it, i think its the "madison burger" but describe it to the waitress, and shell know exactly what your talking about !!!!! read more
