I messaged them to ask when a prescription I had ordered two weeks ago might be in. It's not an uncommon prescription so if having to back order it was an ongoing issue, they likely would be able to say "on average it seems to take X amount of time to get this is." Or, "I will call our supplier and find out." Instead I got a snarky phone call saying they didn't know and it's "out of their hands." I wasn't blaming. Just asking. And my thoughts turned to little confused elderly people who may have the same question. What if it's an important medication and they have run out or afraid of running out? That could be pretty scary to them. For me, if I don't take this prescription I usually end up in urgent care so obviously I was concerned. I was able to transfer my prescription to a different pharmacy and got it the next day. And it was challenging to do because the new pharmacy couldn't get CVS to do their job and transfer the prescription. I really wish CVS would do a better job. Customer service seems to be a lost art. And while I can navigate the "system", older people can't. They need a bit of compassion and someone at least trying to help.

This, for the time being, is our new normal, so one needs to accept it, and I did. Easy, easy, easy. I first thought that the worst part of this was having to do the test myself. But on second thought, it was better than someone else shoving a q-tip half way to my brain. Made the appointment on the app. Drove to the drive thru. Got to the window. Verified my ID. Got the test. Inserted q-tip 1/2 in (NOT UP - don't want to lobotomize myself). Placed q-tip into vial. Returned vial. PAU. Service was efficient and friendly.

However, the spotty customer service makes me hesitate to recommend it at all. I've been here numerous times and experienced really rude and unprofessional service (e.g. I've personally been and seen others be judged and berated at the photo counter when picking up items "late" i.e. within a week or less of placing the order). Sometimes customer service has been nice or fine, though (e.g. one time the photo department called me when they found my photo order, which I appreciated - since when I went to pick it up the first time, they didn't find it). I return here for the location only, but I wish for a more consistently cordial (if not friendly) and efficient experience.

Walking through the Assembly Food Hall we cut off some of the uphill climb up John Lewis Way that is bothering Dad's knees. Now walking up John Lewis Way we are passing by the historic Woolworth Theater and what looks like a Theater District. At the crest of the hill, we step inside the only downtown Nashville Walgreens. At least the only one I am familiar with near Broadway. This store is "blah" in comparison to the Walgreens that I am familiar with in major cities such as Las Vegas, Chicago, San Francisco,and Denver. Their Nashville caps are overpriced and fail to strike me. They fail to carry the bullet beer (24 ounce cans) that I want to pick up for the hotel room. However, they have cold beverages and snacks that my Dad and Brother are buying. I am headed to Starbucks for my beverage. Toi, who rings up my Dad and Brother, is a friendly and personable Cashier.
