This location is heavy on the charm given the stone tower that houses it. In fact, one feels a bit like Rapunzel, climbing a staircase that leads to a secret treasure trove space at the top. It's a pleasant escape and a safe place I cherish, as an introvert. This particular branch butts up to a beautiful park with water features, gardens and more. In fact, the second floor of this library provides a serene view of Civic Green Park, alongside cozy, well-cushioned armchairs tucked in bright corners and ergonomically friendly office chairs on wheels, facing broad desks for laptop use, backpacks and paper writing. The second hand bookstore upstairs often offers sales and it's a fun escape to browse the selection on hand. There are private conference rooms for studying, along with strong WiFi, as well as an enticing children's section with colorful play stations. My favorite time of year to visit is without a doubt the holiday season. The staff goes all out with themed Christmas trees stocked full of whimsy, wonder and inspiration. Parking can get tight, depending on calendar events, but there is overflow parking next door. The bathrooms are always clean and well stocked, on both the first and second floor. Strongly recommend checking this place out if you're in the mood for magic.

My toddler loves the Storytime and Tots Tunes classes, and it's so nice to have some structured "class" time for the littles. It's also nice that they follow each class with play time so the mamas can have some time as well! The calendar of classes and events is posted online and now they allow online registration for their more popular classes that tend to fill up quickly. So much nicer than driving over only to find out there's no more room in a class! The children's library area is nice that it's separate, but could definitely use some updating and improvement. There's a staff desk that no one ever sits at on one side, and on the other side is a little area that they set up for play. Pre-pandemic there were a bunch of toys for the kids which have since been removed. There's also a huge hot air balloon in that area, but it is also just taking space as there are signs not to touch it or sit in it. Staff is nice and helpful at this location, and the building is very bright with lots of windows.

Here at the Aurora Library, there's plenty of parking in the lot. Signing up for a card was quick and easy. All I had to do was show my CO ID and a piece of mail with my name and current address to show that I was from Colorado. When visiting for the 1st time it may seem closed or under construction because of all the chain link fences. This is simply not so. The fences are there for the Police station sharing the other side of the building. Speaking of Fences , it's a beautifully written piece by August Wilson. One of my favorite authors. The history on how he wrote was so interesting to me when I was in College and took African American Literature studies. I recommend that title. The Library attendants are very helpful and will guide you to any section you might be looking for and they are very knowledgeable. I enjoyed that they were engaging and not passive. They have movies to check out too , some DVDs some BluRays. They have current titles which is great. They have music and audio cds to check out as well. I have been adding a few to my music library. However, the music is a bit outdated. Currently (Spring 2021) magazines cannot be checked out. There is a great perk of being a member of the library right now where they have curbside assistance. Sometimes they give away books, music , audio books and I got a great one that happened to be in my interest. That was cool, and I'll be back to this library for sure.

I am writing to share a very concerning experience my son and his grandfather had during Story Time…read moreyesterday. From the moment they arrived, they felt they were treated differently than the other families in attendance. My son was not allowed to have any of the toys that other children were using. Later, when stamps were handed out to the children, every child received one except for my son. The librarian looked him up and down and intentionally moved on without giving him a stamp. My father-in-law also tried asking a few questions about Story Time, but instead of receiving help, he said the librarian raised her voice at both him and my young son. Throughout the program, she appeared to engage warmly with the other children while largely ignoring my son. This was incredibly hurtful for our family. Story Time should be a welcoming and inclusive environment where every child feels valued and treated with kindness. No child should leave feeling excluded. I hope you will look into this matter and ensure that all families are treated with respect and fairness. Thank you for taking the time to hear our concerns, and I would appreciate hearing what steps will be taken to address this situation.

As soon as you enter…read morethe front door you must go up the stairs or take the elevator as the whole library is on the second floor. The décor is nice with different displays of art and it also has a outdoor patio and several little space capsule looking booths that you can sit in, but the internet access is very restricted here, I was unable to connect to my remote work server, rendering my visit practically useless. Nice library otherwise.
