I've been going to Southland Smiles for over 10 years now. Dr Kristina is great with both kids and adults. Their chairs have rollers in them so you get a little mini massage while you're getting your teeth cleaned. I've changed insurance several times over the years and that's been no problem. While my initial review was five stars, I have to knock it down for a year long billing struggle. While the billing issue was eventually resolved, it was completely avoidable and went on for an unnecessary amount of time. The employees were always friendly and professional, which was helpful. The facility and treatment are still a solid five stars, it's just hard to keep my old review up when I was forced to do all of the follow up and insist on a resolution. read more

All of the doctors here are amazing and are super caring for how you are doing in the chair. They explain everything to you and never blind side you with anything. I am great at the dentist and the only phobia I have of needles is when it comes to the dentist. I absolutely hate getting numbed at the dentist and had to here. Dr. Chris was the one who worked on me and he did an amazing job numbing me but did have to go in again a couple of times to put more in. He was so caring about it though and actually waited a bit before going back in. Needless to say, I was still shaking from nervousness when I left but he really was awesome. The assistant helping him was also very nice. She checked on me after everything and made sure I was doing okay. Now my cleaning was done by one of the female doctors and I can't remember which but either way the lady I had was so nice and again explained everything that was going on in my mouth and what she was doing. The lady that cleaned my teeth was also very nice and made sure I was doing okay the entire time. This office is also a step up because if you are getting a filling or anything they let you watch Netflix on the t.v. screens in the rooms. I love this dentist and I am glad I made them my new office. read more

Not just a dentist... Dr. Kristina is an aesthetic artist! I was able to have my six-month cleaning AND get Juvederm in the same appointment! The staff made sure that I was comfortable during the whole process. Sharon was my hygienist and was so careful with my sensitive teeth. After Dr. Kristina performed my dental exam, she provided a dental block to ensure that I would remain comfortable during the Juvederm treatment. Dr. Kristina was so precise while providing the injections to make sure that they would look as natural and beautiful as they could be. I was worried that I wouldn't find someone that I can trust with my injectibles, and now I am so happy that I have found Dr. Kristina! read more

I can not say enough about this office. Around Christmas time my 7 year old daughter was having severe tooth pain on a Sunday night. I raced around trying to give her any relief and finally called Southland Smiles right as they opened in the morning and they got us in a few hours later. Needless to say it has been such a long road for my little girls and their tooth issues, however I am happy to say that yesterday was the last of them for 6 months. Dr. Kristina is amazing. Staff: The front office staff are great. They always ready to answer questions, can fit someone in on a tight schedule and never lack in smiles. We are welcomed with a warm Hello everytime and they have known the girls names since the first visit. Dental Assistants: These ladies are all angels, every single one of them. They were sent down to hold the hand of the youngest kid to the most scared adult when it comes to dental work. I love these ladies and my girls talk about them like they are friends. It's a blessing. The billing department is a nightmare! They use a third party service. They demanded I pay up front then would pay back what my insurance covers. They took their time filing and then refuse to pay me back what they have collected so far- but they filed almost two months after my appointment. I am still waiting. My son had so much pain they sent him to a specialist to see if he needed a crown. The specialist said they couldn't believe how far down the dentist drilled on my sons tooth! Dental-phobic is a pretty accurate description for me when it come to getting my teeth worked on. From one bad experience to the next, my disdain for anything dental related had reached an all time high and I had spent almost 2 years avoiding the dentist's office. Eventually that caught up with me and I was again in search of the perfect dentist. I found Southland Smiles by way of another review site and decided to give them a try. The reviews were impeccable. In fact, I thought they were too good to be true! When I walked in, I could feel my blood pressure begin to rise thanks to previous experiences in a dental chair yet hoping once again that THIS TIME it would be different. Well it was. I walked in and met a super nice and friendly receptionist named Karen who gave me the typical paperwork to fill out. Karen is fantastic and is definitely on top of her game. She has the paperwork ready for you when your appointment is complete and everything is so easy to read and understand. The office environment is warm, inviting, and absolutely relaxing. It feels like a family atmosphere, where you just feel like you are at "home". Dr. Kristina Harvan could possibly be one of the kindest people I've met. Her staff is incredible. I mean incredible. I had a root canal done and it couldn't have been any more relaxing than if I had actually fallen asleep, which I almost did - twice. The assistant, Jessica, knew how nervous I was and constantly reassured me as well as to double check how I was feeling throughout the entire procedure. They even put on a movie for me to take my mind off what was going on. However, Dr. Kristina explains everything every step of the way - so you are never left guessing what's going to happen next. And the best part? She LISTENS! I know, it surprised me too! A super nice dentist with an incredible staff that listens... (Somebody pinch me, I must be dreaming.) Either way, if you are terrified of the dental chair, you MUST try Southland Smiles, because you'll never go two years avoiding the dentist like I did. Southland Smiles has the best Dr.s and staff! They are friendly, accommodating and they work with my schedule. They are great with handling all the insurance so I don't have to do a thing. The procedures are gentle yet thorough. The Dr.'s and assistants explain everything clearly and answer all my questions. The whole team really seems to care about their patients. Give Kristina Harvan and staff 5 stars! I don't give kudos unless it's earned. And in the case of Southland Smiles, it is indeed merited. In the last 3 years, I've gone to three different dentists for the same problem: cavities. Fill my cavities! Stop them from hurting! Sound simple? I know, it did to me too. But unfortunately most dentists won't see you until after their staff has worn you out with questions, suggestions, poking, and prodding. And I always left with the same cavities I walked in with and no additional information. That was until I went to Southland Smiles. My first contact was with Natalie, Dr. Harvan's dental assistant. I reeked of fear, which she surely smelled and quickly set about putting me at ease. She softly and gently explained everything she was about to do and then she did it all while making sure I was comfortable by asking questions and making necessary adjustments. I used to hate dental x-rays but I don't hate them anymore and it's all because of Natalie and the warm, gentle way she treated me. I was as relaxed as I could get until the doctor, Kristina Harvan walked in and sat down. I didn't think it was possible, but she relaxed me even more with her gentle probing questions, full explanation of technique and procedure and genuine interest for my concerns. She finished her exam, assessed my situation and, with my complete, informed involvement, mapped out several courses of action which would help me reach my goal. Then she did the most amazing thing...she backed off and suggested that I think about which treatment I would prefer before making a decision. She referred three or four specialists for the work which needed outsourcing and told me that, if I wasn't comfortable with those, I should call her and she could refer even more until I felt fully confident that the decision I was making was the best for me. She showed me pricing up front for the work I chose and fully explained what portion I would be responsible for while making it clear that for the actual amounts I would need to check with my insurance company so there would be no surprises at appointment time. The last contact I had was with Karen, the receptionist. Karen is like your best friend who happens to work at the dentist's office. She is as personable as Dr. Harvan and the rest of the staff and even called me to let me know that my wife had left her cell phone at the office. I give Southland Smiles 5 stars for listening and caring!! I am a patient for life and will recommend Southland Smiles to anyone who will listen. read more

My husband and I moved to the Denver area two years ago from St. Louis. We had a great dentist there and thought there was no way we could find anyone as good, then we found Drs. Chris and Kristina. Both are gentle and extremely caring and truly care about your comfort and your smile! In fact, the whole staff is great. I really love Dr. Harvan and all her staff, I've never had a bad experience. She's gentle with the kids and forward at the same time, they like to impress her with cavity free check ups. I can always count on her for referrals and trust that she will get me to the right person for any job from orthodontics to physical therapy after injury. She has good input on more natural approaches which I appreciate. She has provided both data and her experience on both sides of potentially controversial issues like Mercury in fillings, fluoride, X-rays, and using Nitrous. Prices are fair and upfront, the office is clean and comfortable, the kids enjoy watching movies while they get work done and so do I! After trying out some other dentists in the area, and not being happy with the customer service we have finally settled with Southland Smiles. I have a daughter who is pretty phobic about any dental procedure and the staff did a wonderful job with her. She came out smiling after getting a filling. The other thing I really appreciate is that the dentist does not come into the waiting room to discuss your personal business in front of other patients. We started going here with our three kids last fall. Dr. Kristina Harvan was great with my kids but then months later my husband I went for our own exams and I was shocked to hear Dr. Chris Harvan (who had terrible bed-side manner and was very rough with me) tell me I had several cavities--I've had maybe one cavity in the last 15 years so this was pretty surprising. When I questioned him about the details of where these "cavities" were he showed me the photos they took (not the X-rays) and said that staining in my molars were decay that had to be filled. I knew this did not sound right (I've had staining for as long as I can remember and dentists have always said it was normal). When Dr. Harvan had little more information to explain this other than--go see the front desk for your treatment plan. I ended up going to another dentist I trust (one my parents have gone to for 10 years) and he said I had ZERO cavities. Dr. Harvan also said my husband had gum disease (and several other cavities as well) but he then went to the other dentist too to get a second opinion and it was the same thing--zero gum disease and zero cavities! I am appalled that this man is a practicing dentist and isn't in jail. What he is doing is criminal. He would have happily charged my family over $1,000 to fill all these imaginary cavities and no one would have been the wiser. I am sick to my stomach knowing that before we met him we had his wife Dr. Kristina Harvan filling 2 'cavities' in my 7yr old the week prior. I guess we'll never know if those were actual cavities or not, but he got his money just the same. Just sickening...I wish I could file a criminal complaint against this guy. Best Dentist service I have ever received. In the past I have visited many different dentists for all kinds of different work, but Dr. Kristina Harvan is by far the most pleasant, proffesional, and comforting dentist I have ever met. I have made multiple visits to this office in the past two years ranging from simple cleaning and filling to root canals, crowns, and extractions. I have never had a single complaint. Everyone working here is friendly and very proffesional. Everything in the office seems new and clean. All of the work I have had done has been great and has changed the way I see dental work. .Please be careful, the staff here tells you they "pre-authorize" your insurance and then months later you get a bill. I even questioned it prior to my appointment, at the scheduling, because I know my insurance coverages. I was told that due to the necessity of the work that Southland Smiles recieved the pre-authorization. Four months after my appointment I recieved a bill. When I called I was told it was declined by my insurance. When I mentioned the "pre-authorization" I was told that was for my prior visit. After multiple people called me and told me that they do "pre-authorize" but that doesn't mean the insurance will accept and pay it. I am not sure what that means. I was then offered a reduced bill (50%) to settle. I told them I would pay whatever they wanted but I was changing dentists and they said that's fine here is the total what is your credit card number. read more

Awesome! Bet you've never heard or said that about a trip to the dentist before. I can truly say that's what it was like from the time I entered the office space. The receptionist was very gracious, knowledgeable and friendly. I found the dental assistant and hygienist to be the same. And then enters Dr. Kristina: extremely personable and you can just tell she knows her stuff! I am 62 and if you can believe, this was my very first pleasant experience at a dental office.
