Great spot! Southern Hops Brewing Company is super easy to get to and has plenty of parking, which is always a plus. There's also great outdoor seating as well as indoor. Pretty laid back vibe and good music! The beer flights were fantastic, the staff was incredibly friendly, and the food was both delicious and priced just right. We visited on Valentine's Day, so it was a little slow to place our order, but once we did, the food came out quickly and did not disappoint. Definitely worth a visit! read more

Fantastic spot for beer and food in the Murrells Inlet area! This was my first time up this way and it seems like this is one of few breweries around this part of town, so we had to try it. They have plenty of seating inside and outside, as well as games outside and tvs inside. The service was quick and great, and they have plenty of types of beer to choose from. The beers I had were pretty good and had nice flavor. The secret to this place is their food! I wasn't expecting to be super impressed, but I really was! Cute brewery on the far end of Murrells Inlet. It's off the beaten path a bit. Place was packed when we arrived but within a short wait we were seated. Booth was terribly uncomfortable (cushion was old and a bar dig into our legs) and the cooling system couldn't keep up. It was set to 70 and was 81 inside (we could see it from our seat). Drinks were good, my husband enjoyed the flight and another pint of his favorite. We ordered an app of the pretzel with cheese dip, it was quite tasty. Pulled pork was delish per my daughter. Cheese pizza was a little blah. And the burger with a side of red rice and beans was wonderful! Live music outside on a Friday was fun, they opened the garage doors so music came inside. Love the place. Good food. Great atmosphere. Customer service was awesome. You can eat inside or outside. If you outside you can bring your dog. The only issue I have is they need to update their food menu on Yelp. It's really frustrating when you want to order something for pickup by phone but there's no food menu only drink menus and an appetizer menu. We went to Southern Hops on Saturday night because they had an awesome local duo (Joe's Garage) playing there. We had a fantastic meal with quick and friendly service. They have a great selection of beers, but they also had a mango NA beer that was one of the best I've ever had. The pumpkin soup with creme fresche was an excellent starter, and I had a great shrimp burrito (spiced so well) and my husband loved his burger (he's a former chef and is quite critical, but he had zero criticisms). Been going to murrells inlet for years and totally missed this place. I will say when we did hear about it we were initially deterred by lack of children's menu but alas there was one and I will post for other parents. This place has a nice vibe and is very open and fun. There are shelves of games to play and a wall made of garage doors so you can sit inside and enjoy the ac but also enjoy a little of the outside. I am not a huge beer person so I stuck with water and tea but my husband said they were good. He did a flight and then landed on the peach wheat beer. My son got a grilled cheese and we split nachos. The food was good and I really want to give this place five stars but I was slightly taken aback by the receipt tip area showing the math for 20%/25%/30%. Service and food were good but 30% tip! A wonderful brewery with fabulous food! Angie behind the bar was spectacular. Started with a nice Leroy Brown ale which was quite tasty. Ordered the special which was a flounder over grits with a veggie succotash . I added blackened shrimp at Angie's suggestion and oh my, quite wonderful! My wife, daughter and I went to this location on Saturday for a late lunch. We read the reviews and decided we wanted to give it a try. We were not disappointed. We each had a cocktail which was good. Especially the wife and her hurricane. (She drove us there, but I took the keys and drove us home.) Yes it was potent. My West Coast IPA was flavorful and just what I wanted. For an appetizer we had the Gator Egg Rolls. (Special that day). They were excellent. Honestly, thought about getting a second order and a side salad for my main course. But instead, I did a Cuban with Pasta salad as a side. My wife had the BLT with a side salad, and our daughter had the regular Luigi pizza. Everything was very good. The food arrived hot and fresh. Everything had great flavor and was very appetizing. In fact the pasta salad was so good, I had to threaten both my wife and daughter so they would stop taking it from me. This was honestly the best pasta salad we have had in SC. If I had to guess, it is seasoned with Old Bay. Our waitress was very pleasant, knowledgeable, and efficient. I only wish I could remember her name. (Young, dark brunette, small build, and soft but clear voice). If you are your boss sees this, awesome job. We have found a few very good eateries since we moved to the area. Last night (for sweater party) was the third time in three weeks my wife and I have been to SH. This place is fantastic and ran by great people. The staff is exceptional,always welcoming, and great at what they do.The food is some of the best in the area, and of course not to mention the brews. I've gotten different things both to eat and drink each time, all fantastic. Great ambiance on the inside and plenty of seating and things to do outside, and very family friendly. Had another great visit on June 30. Our server Cheyanne was the best. Helpful with the beer and food menus, checked on us at just the right frequency for rounds of beers and brought refills of the non alcoholic beverages without us having to ask. The beer brewed on premises , the smell of hops as you walk into the door. Wow nice, I had the 5 points ipa and I loved it. Not tasting like grapefruit. Very smooth.
