1 Star -- Extremely Disappointing and Dangerous Experience…read more This was my first time ordering from Top Tier Catering, and unfortunately, it will likely be my last. I ordered through Uber Eats, but before placing my order, I went above and beyond to make sure I could safely eat the food. I actually called the restaurant beforehand and specifically asked about my sesame allergy. I was told that the wings I was interested in contained sesame seeds, but that if I made note of my allergy, the kitchen would follow those instructions. Fast-forward to my order arriving about 40 minutes later -- and after spending $55 -- I discovered that two of my four items had sesame seeds all over them. And when I say all over them, I mean whoever prepared the food went absolutely crazy with the sesame seeds. There were even sesame seeds inside the container with the pork chops and in one of my containers of collard greens. I cannot explain how frustrating and upsetting this was, especially because I took the time to call the restaurant BEFORE ordering specifically to discuss my allergy. I also listed my sesame allergy multiple times when placing the order through Uber Eats. To make matters worse, the receipt attached to the bag clearly listed my allergies -- not once, not twice, not three times, but FOUR times under the individual meals. There was even a large section on the receipt clearly marked "ALLERGIES." At that point, I genuinely had to question whether the kitchen staff simply didn't read the order or were being negligent. This isn't a preference or a request to leave off an ingredient that I don't like. This is a food allergy that I specifically disclosed multiple times. Cross-contamination and failure to follow allergy instructions can have serious consequences. I immediately tried to resolve the issue. Since I ordered through Uber Eats, I had to submit a claim through the app, as there isn't an easy way to speak directly with a live person. So now I have to wait and see whether Uber will actually refund me. I also called the restaurant directly. A man answered the phone and told me to hold. I waited on hold for approximately eight minutes before eventually hanging up. I called back several times afterward, and the phone began going straight to voicemail. And before anyone says I should have simply brought the food back: I live more than 20 minutes away, which is exactly why I ordered through Uber Eats. I made several attempts to contact the establishment and give them an opportunity to address this directly before posting this review, but unfortunately, I was unable to reach anyone. I am extremely disappointed. When a customer clearly discloses a serious food allergy before ordering, in the order notes, and on the receipt, the expectation should be that those instructions are taken seriously. This was not a minor mistake -- it was a major failure in handling an explicitly stated allergy. I hope the restaurant takes this situation seriously and reviews how allergy orders are communicated and prepared in the kitchen. I understand accidents happen, but this should not have happened. You literally have to read the order to prepare the food so how did you miss sesame allergy on a receipt paper more than four times I will never understand!

So I'm always looking to try them from different places. I got beef birria tacos with no onions and the consommé dipping sauce. The tacos were meaty and cheesy and flavorful. I wish I had some guac and pico de gallo but they were still good without them. The dipping sauce was good as well. Has a it of a spicy kick. It was heavily tomato based from what I could see. Different than other Consommé that I've tried, but it did not quite taste tomato'ish which I'm glad of. It reminds me of certain types of salsa but still different. Give this place a try. I'll def be eating here again.

The operation is clean and well-run, and their stand at the festival turns out amazing, wholesome, richly spiced and always delicious food for thousands of festivalgoers. Needless to say, if they can handle the hustle and bustle of a huge music festival, they definitely have the expertise to cater your event. My favorite thing is the vegetarian curry goat. It is the stuff of dreams. I'm not sure what vegetarian protein they use--probably seitan?--but it is toothsome and hearty. The spices are intoxicating. You can get the curry goat and any of their other entree items either as a platter or a salad in a deep-fried tortilla bowl (which is delicious and perfect if you are spending a long day at a festival). If you see their stand at an event, definitely check it out, and if you are looking to feed a bunch of vegetarians at a party or other event, give them a call. She then hands me my food, I give her my credit card, and am then told that the machine can't send the signal, so my card won't work. Great! She then held my food hostage while another friend came to my rescue with some cash. Get your act together, Nyota, this is the 21st century and you're using some old-school credit card machine? Then I finally get to taste my food. If you like overly-processed, extremely high sodium food, then this might be your thing. If you also like food that's drowning in long, slimy onion strands (aka worms), then this is DEFINITELY your thing. Quantity-wise, it was well worth my $9 but quality-wise, I feel like I need to detox until the winter solstice. My advice? If you want delicious vegan food that will also make you feel good, Nyota's Ting is not it.
