I'm not usually a lumpia person, but Patok by Rach fully converted me. Dangerous drinks. They're sweet enough to completely mask the alcohol, and they're definitely on the stronger side. The garlic rice is absolutely worth the extra $3, no question. And all of the pickled veggies across dishes were standouts (bright, flavorful, and balanced everything really well). The chicken bao was probably my favorite bite. It was packed with meat and layered with pickled veggies, would probably order a full plate of those (wish I had taken a better picture). The lechon isn't the traditional rolled style--it's more like softer chicharrones with two large sheets of crispy skin. Not traditional, but honestly delicious and very satisfying texture-wise. Not pictured but took the ube flan and regular flan home and it was delicious. Not sure what they add to the caramel but it felt slightly richer than usual. Super good. read more

I had a wonderful meal here with my kids. At first I thought I was at the Bronx and even though they're at the edge, they are most definitely located in New York. Parking was. A little bit of a challenge being on the street and I really didn't feel like parking a distance so after a few circles, I was able to park my car a few doors down. Maybe best to plan ahead at busy times. I came wjth my three kids and we ordered Lumpia Shanghai which was gone in an instant. We then settled for Adobo, Sinigang, Sisig and Fried Chicken. The whiff of the food definitely brings you back to the motherland. The spices and even the way it's cooked. Everything is authentic! Had I had a bigger appetite, I would have had a slice of the ube cake on the counter. Also, can't forget the calamansi juice! So refreshing! Everyone is extremely friendly and beyond respectful. Got the sisig, popcorn chicken, and palabok. The rice that came with the sisig was way too sticky and wet, and the pork was very dry and chewy. The sauce helped. The palabok was a little better but the noodles were very skinny, so if you're expecting thick noodles like typical palabok, this might not satisfy your craving. It also tasted a little on the bland side. The popcorn chicken was good! Not as crispy, but the flavors hit. For dessert we got the halo halo, and honestly, if you come just for that, it's worth it. Calamansi lemonade always hits the spot as well. The restaurant is very home-y and cozy. It's nice to have a Filipino spot uptown! read more

Finally, this area has decent casual Filipino food. Dropped in for dinner with my sister and nephew. You can smell what's cooking from the outside and boy does it smell good. The 3 of us ate family style and shared everything. We started off with the lumpia which was fire. The dipping sauce tasted like banana ketchup. Their chicharon was pork belly style, not fried fat which is the one we're used to. I didn't love it, but it was enjoyable. Their laing was my favorite out of everything we got cos it tasted like home. Their sisig was tasty and not oily like the ones you get in the Philippines. Ended with the chicken inasal. Every dish comes with rice - plain or garlic. Your choice. Ended with the ube sansrival. Not sure if getting the regular would've made a difference, but the bottom had zero crunch. Took one star away because the service was kinda off towards the end. It took us a while to pay cos the lady at the front was busy helping tidy up. The ventilation here is wild. I stopped by their food stand at Union Square because their Lechon was calling my name. The Lechon belly though wasn't as satisfying. It tasted like braised pork belly with a few pieces of chicharrones. I wouldn't recommend getting that if you're looking for some crispy lechon! read more

Came here for dinner on a Saturday and was craving for Filipino food. Patok was the perfect place. Nice ambiance with beautiful Filipino decor, service was good, and food was yummy. We ordered pork lumpia which is always a favorite. The chicken bao bun was ok, but my friend enjoyed it. Lechon kawali and chicken inasal were delicious and is a must try if you haven't had Filipino food. Parking can be difficult, might be easier by subway. I stopped by here for lunch not long after this place first opened. It is a nice restaurant with lovely ambiance, serving Filipino cuisine. Of course I had to order the Pork Lumpia and I chose the Sweet Pork dish, served with garlic rice and egg. The lumpia was delicious and oh so crispy with tons of flavorful pork filling. The entree was beautifully plated, with plenty of each ingredient. The pork was slightly charred, succulent, juicy, and wonderfully well seasoned. I also enjoyed the garlic rice, which was cooked perfectly and full of garlic taste. The fried egg had a runny yolk, and I usually prefer completely cooked, but didn't mind in this instance, as it paired so nicely with the rice. There was a sweet sauce, as well as pickled veggies, which were crunchy and added a fresh element. Service was great. The lady at the counter was welcoming and helpful with the menu. Also, the pricing was reasonable. I would be open to returning at some point, but would like to see a more varied and larger menu. read more

My work would have catering from here that starts at 11:30am and I would line up by 11:25am because I'm that excited to get my hands on it and to beat the line! Our lunch ends at 2pm, but the catered food would be gone by 12:30-1:00. That's how good this place is! My favorite is the lechon pork belly. So fatty, tender, and it comes with crispy pork skin. Pair that with their pickled onions and it's so delicious! The mushroom and tofu sisig is a runner up. It has a nice soy sauce and black peppery flavor to it. read more

So happy to have this Filipino joint in the neighborhood! They have been open at this location for a short period of time and still figuring some stuff out. For instance, my food (Tosilog) was absolutely delicious, but the temperature was off (rice was cold, pork was warm ish). I arrived when they were packaging my food and walked only two blocks before consumption. Despite this I am giving Patok by Rach five stars because every new business deserves grace and I thoroughly enjoyed this quality meal--the sweet pork was finger licking good. "Plating" even for the takeout order was lovely (my photo doesn't do it justice as I had already dug in). I am very much looking forward to going back for lumpia and other items on the menu. Though pork is all over the menu, they have vegetarian options. I liked the feel and decor of the restaurant; there was a plenty of sunlight with natural elements and good amount of seating. Visited Patok while on a visit to NY for a few days. Ordered food for takeout. Tried the Lechón Kawali and the Calamansi juice which was a lemon lime drink. The Lechón Kawali was interesting. The chicharrón was quite crunchy. It lacked some flavor but with the sauces provided, good flavor was added. I probably would have wished that the Lechón was a little smooth that way the meat would be a little tender and hold some juice with the tenderness. The Calamansi juice was refreshing. Pretty good food overall. The place is a nice little hole-in-the-wall that can't go unnoticed with some good service. read more

Came here with some coworkers for lunch. We ordered the chicken bao buns and vegetarian lumpia to share. I ordered the chicken inasal for myself with garlic fried rice, and my coworkers ordered the liempo. I really enjoyed everything that we ordered in terms of food; everything was flavorful, tender, and juicy. The one thing that I didn't love was the mango juice. I asked our server, and she told me that it was made from a house made syrup. I decided to give it a try, but the drink was so watered down that I might as well have just gotten water. Came last night to have dinner with a friend and it did not disappoint! Filipino food finally came to Inwood and we can not be more delighted. The restaurant is welcoming and warm. I ate them after 2 days, after heating them up, and they turned out to be flavorful & good. I will be back when I get the chance, and will try the other items in the menu. As soon as I heard Patok was making their way to Inwood I was excited to try out their lechon. From all the pics I saw on Insta it looked absolutely glorious. Finally got my hands on it at their first brick & mortar location and I wasn't proven wrong. It's as good as it looks. The lechon is pork heaven. Tender, fatty, oily. It's all I've ever wanted. Also tried out their pork lumpia. While I'm not doing alotta carbs nowadays, a few bites ain't gonna hurt nobody. And I'm glad I used up my carbs for these beauties cause the flavor was on point. Keep coming back here because it's really the only Filipino spot in my neighborhood, and I want to support local small businesses. This time I got the tocilog. The portion and the flavor were great however, I wish the pork had more meat. It was honestly mostly fat and although it tasted good and I ate it, it was very heavy and there should've been more portions with meat rather than just fat alone. I will probably still come here, because like I said it's local and if I have a craving for Filipino food, it will do the trick, but I think they can improve on some of their dishes. The last time I had the sinigang it was completely flavorless. The owner claimed to tone down the flavor to cater towards the locals (white people?!) I don't know... but to me if you're going to be authentic, keep the flavor how it's meant to be, and if people don't like it, then they can go somewhere else that suits their tastebuds. The sinigang meat was super hard and even though it's in a soup, it was surprisingly very dry meat as well. In sinigang I expect the meat to be fall off the bone tender and flavorful. read more
