Edgar from Airmaxx proposed several different options for the best way to add air conditioning to our home. He was very knowledgeable, professional, and responsive. They were not the cheapest bid but I was confident they could deliver the quality job I was looking for. Vitaliy and two other installers arrived the morning of the scheduled installation. We walked the job and discussed my expectations. They got started and shortly thereafter Vitaliy came to me with the first problem. The location of one of the ceiling cassette units would not work because of how the roof was framed and the roof pitch. We discussed alternatives and decided on a new location for the cassette unit. The next problem was how to run the line set to the furthest location taking into account the shallow roof pitch and access. After some discussion we came up with an approach. Vitaliy and the crew along with Edgar were able to run the line set to the furthest location. The installation proceeded smoothly until we discovered that one of the condensation drain lines was not working correctly (thank goodness Vitaliy had the foresight to check it before it became a bigger problem). They got the drain line fixed and completed the installation. Before you question why there were "problems" know that any retrofit has potential issues and it is how the contractor addresses them that determines how good the contractor is. I say this having been a high end custom home builder in another state since 1986. Their workmanship was excellent ( lines and items they installed were plumb, level or sloped, and well secured as appropriate). I would not hesitate to recommend Edgar, Vitaliy, and Airmaxx to family and friends.

He told us to call if it happened again, and ideally to record the event, and he would come back and fix it. We did just that, and he ultimately was correct about what the issue was. He installed a new pump to replace the one that failed, cleaned the drain line, and the leak stopped. Uz was accurate in his read of the problem, honest about what the test showed, and then installed the part cleanly and quickly. He was professional, thorough, and knew what he was doing. I'd ask for him again.

I was told it was a bad thermal expansion valve and would need about $3800 worth of parts and labor to fix. I called West Coast for a second opinion seeing as they did a great job installing a mini split unit for me 2 years ago. Uriel came out and determined it was a bad sensor in the outdoor unit and to replace that would be 1/10 the cost quoted by the other company. Uriel found that the wire to the sensor had been chewed through, likely by a rat. The A/C is now functioning correctly and I'm very happy with the team at West Coast Heating Cooling and Solar.

My point was that your employee's don't care about the customers at all. I was honest with the tech when I told him I'm new to HVAC systems and don't want to be taken advantage of, and listened to everything he told me. I'm glad I didn't trust him though because I would've been 4000$ more poor. The point was, your technician at NO POINT thought that airflow might be restricted by something, let me troubleshoot it quickly to see. Our AC unit wasn't working well so we got three quotes. George was able to come out same day to…read moregive a price and was the only one to suggest keeping the furnace as a backup to a new heat pump AC unit, as our old furnace was still working and didn't need to be removed. I'm sure this cut some costs with remove/setup, but based on some research this is ideal as the weather can get down below 40 degrees where I live. We went with GVK due to this, the fact he took the time to answer all questions thoroughly and honestly, and they were able to install the next business day; got a quote on Friday afternoon and scheduled me for Monday to install the new system. The price was also very competitive with the other options. We did have a delay in starting as they had a mix-up on install dates and had to postpone one day. However, George called and apologized and offered a discount for the mistake and to charge our current system to help keep the house cool until they came out the next day, which I think reflects how he runs a customer focused business. When he did come out that day I had more questions about the setup and based on our discussion we changed the coil for more flexibility in moving the unit in the attic one day. It was pretty clear that George runs a solid business; he double checked they left no trash after leaving, his workers made sure to set up mats everywhere they worked inside, they let us know when they would be using louder tools (as we have a baby), and they stayed until the unit was fully installed which meant they stayed pretty late. I couldn't recommend them enough. George is really easy to work with, does a great job on the customer side and also steps in to do the work himself which is all reflected in the impressive reviews he has.
