San Diego Cool Air just finished installing my new HVAC system- they replaced my 37 year old gas furnace heaters and AC's into two new heat pumps and air handlers. The quality in air difference is SHOCKINGLY immediate. I used to have dust all over my house whenever I turned on my old HVAC system- I found out from San Diego Cool Air it was fiberglass dust!! After this new HVAC install, I can breathe very easily now in my house and the air flow is so strong that the old metal register grill covers are rattling from the strong air flow which the owner Robert will replace as it wasn't part of my original contract (unlike my in-laws new HVAC system that has no air flow coming out of their air registers). That's how I know its a quality job- there is no leakage of air because of quality plenums, so that's why the air flow is so good and strong. I am confident our lives will be much healthier as a result of this new HVAC system. HVAC changeout is not cheap, but I took the leap of faith to get the work done because I want cleaner, healthier air for our upcoming family since my husband and I plan to start trying soon to have a baby. SD Cool has changed my air quality for the life of my La Mesa house. I'm set! My system was overhauled from the home original unit that was 32 years old. Come to find out the system was not sized correctly (4-ton condenser matched with a 5-ton blower), ducts where not connected and I was bleeding good air into my attic. When my system was on, it was a hell of a racket. I bought my house last year and they did a poor job on the flip. My system performance is simply stellar now! Robert and his crew designed, replaced (all ductwork) and balanced my system. The job was quoted for 4 days and they were done on time. Between each day, the crew left my home in a clean state. As progress commenced, I received video updates while I was at work from Robert. The guy was even working 2 days after major surgery! Now I'm running a variable speed 5-ton which now matches my blower's specs. All new high end insulated ducts with custom plenums and dampers for adjustments. SD Cool Air was referred to me by my real estate agent after we closed on our home in Serra Mesa.   The home inspector found some HVAC issues that needed to be addressed. I initially called another HVAC company (before my RE agent referred me) and I felt like they wanted to sell me everything under the sun. I politely asked the company to leave.  Robert came out and was really honest about what items on the inspection report needed to be fixed (for efficiency/safety) vs items that weren't as urgent. Never tried to sell me a new system.  Highly recommend.  His technician, Justin, was consistent with what I expected, after meeting with Robert.  Super reasonable price for the amount of work that needed to be done. read more
