It was a busy Friday night, yet the staff treated my father with urgency, dignity, and genuine compassion. What could have been a chaotic and impersonal experience instead felt human and attentive. After we arrived, the ER team worked tirelessly -- not just medically, but administratively -- coordinating with insurance, social workers, and case management. When my father became stuck in the ER due to complications with his prior facility refusing readmission, the UCLA team did not give up on him. They continued advocating, communicating, and ultimately helped secure placement in a better facility after nearly a week in limbo. That level of follow-through meant everything to our family. I especially want to recognize Nurse Claire in the ER. Her kindness and humanity were extraordinary. She gave my father blankets, made sure he was comfortable, and even offered me blankets, food, and water during a long and emotional night. She cleaned my father up with such care and dignity. After 10 hours of uncertainty, she brought calm, reassurance, and genuine bedside compassion that I will never forget. I also want to thank Dr. Carson Dangberg for advocating for my father during a very unfortunate situation. His professionalism and willingness to step in made a real difference. In one of the hardest moments for our family, this ER team reminded us that healthcare can still be compassionate and patient-centered. We are deeply grateful.

High-Risk Pregnancy Care Felt Unsafe, Rushed, and Poorly Managed:…read more I am writing this review because my family's experience with UCI Labor & Delivery was extremely disappointing and scary, especially because my sister was considered a high-risk pregnancy due to her age, diabetes, and other medical concerns. My sister was originally supposed to be induced at 5:00 AM on Sunday, 4/26, but there were no beds available. Later that day, around 6:00 PM, the hospital called and told her to come in around 9:00 PM. When she arrived Sunday night around 9:00 PM, she was brought in, but instead of starting the induction process and properly monitoring her as a high-risk patient, she was discharged around 1:00 AM because they needed the beds. This was extremely upsetting and concerning. A high-risk pregnant patient should not be sent home in the middle of the night because of bed availability. By around 8:00 AM the next morning, she started bleeding and had to rush back to the hospital. A nurse apologized and said they were sorry, which only made the situation feel even more concerning because it seemed like they knew the situation should not have been handled that way. Once she was back at the hospital, the experience continued to feel chaotic and poorly managed. The hospital appeared to be short-staffed, and communication was not reassuring. Her epidural was delayed because the doctor kept getting pulled away. She was in significant pain, and for a high-risk patient, the delay in pain management felt unacceptable. By Monday, 4/27 at 12:49 PM, she was around 4-5 cm dilated and waiting for medication to help her dilate more. Around 3:51 PM, contractions were getting stronger, and she was waiting for the epidural. Then around 6:25 PM, we were told she needed an emergency C-section. This was terrifying for our family, especially after everything that had already happened: the delayed induction, being sent home due to lack of beds, having to rush back because of bleeding, short staffing, delayed epidural, and poor communication. Thankfully, the baby was born Monday evening and is okay, and we are extremely grateful for that. However, the process leading up to the delivery was stressful, scary, and poorly handled. I understand hospitals get busy, but bed shortages should never come before the safety of a high-risk pregnant patient. My sister should not have been discharged at 1:00 AM, only to have to rush back by 8:00 AM bleeding. This experience left our family feeling like patient safety, communication, and high-risk pregnancy care were not prioritized the way they should have been.

It was empty inside, but then someone a little bit later asked if I had been helped. I sat on one of the couches so I can lift my leg up because it was hurting so bad. I got dropped off and then took an uber home because I wasn't sure how much it would hurt after and since I was already in pain I figured it was safer. First they did a simple test then the EMG test with needles. I just gotta tell you it hurt like hell. The nurse that took me back was really sweet and friendly and sort of talked me through the process before the dr came in to do the EMG test. When the dr came in she was nice I couldn't tell if she was being all the way nice or not but she did answer all my questions and told her all my pain and symptoms she made a note for my neurologist. When she first put the needles in my arm it wasn't bad but then she got to my leg and that oh my gosh hurt like hell. I couldn't handle it cause of how bad it hurt. She couldn't do more cause it was too much for me. But she did get enough of a reading she said to send to my neurologist at least. I see a lot of bad reviews for this place, glad I didn't look at them before i went lol. But glad they took me seriously and tried to help me as best as they could and appreciate the kindness of the nurse bringing me a warm blanket since it was so cold in there. I didn't have a bad experience I would come back again. Hopefully they can give me some answers Have a beautiful day, be kind to all your patients. Aloha

My wife had her well women exam completed by the NP at this location. She has a IUD in place and wasn't sure the date or the type. The NP said that she could electronically message her that information through the EMR. It was only a simple message that was sent to the NP. There was no indication that there would be an charge associated with the online messaging. She logged into her billing portal and found there was an $80 fee associated with this. In all the places I have worked before, never have myself or any other providers or the organizations billed a patient for messages! This is blatant extortion by the people that run UCI health, to take advantage of patients. I am sure there was some training involved to direct this provider to bill for such trivial tasks. Also the facility/doctor fees UCI charges are exorbitant compared to other places. WARNING to future patients, don't go with UCI otherwise you will get a shocking medical bill afterwards!! I plan to fight this and if things don't change, then escalation will be the next course of action (ie news, state representative).
