When running this track the thing that struck me was that even if you have an "off" you're not as likely to destroy your car - the runoff areas look pretty well designed. There are garages for rent which is really nice in the PacNW. :) Would be nice to have more access for spectating/photography but other than that if you've got the need for speed - connect with one of the groups that organize track days here and have a great time! Recently visited on a wet day. It's slower but you also learn more about the limits of adhesion and how your car behaves at the limits. More importantly for me it made for some cool photo opportunities.

From a safety standpoint they have continued to improve and maintain the asphalt track, guard rails, grass, pedestrian access and striping. All a testament to management's concern for the safety of both participants and spectators! KUDOS! I have never been here but what there wasn't a medical emergency team on site in full readiness, I believe it's Mason County FD - but not certain. In addition, at larger events the Mason County Sheriff's are present and hopefully won't ever have to be called into action.

got up saturday morning looking forward to what I thought was going to be my first time on a 1:32…read moretrack... not unhappy to say that I have rarely been more wronger. turns out that despite what it says on the wall they also race 1:24 scale cars here; 'car' being the operative word. the cars you race actually look like cars, only smaller! about 96% smaller but they are obviously real cars with wheels and tires and electric motors and subject to sudden power loss just like full-size electric cars ;-) wasn't sure if I'd get any track time because it's a race day but I figured that since I was here I'd have a look at how the other half lives. fortunately for me a light turnout left an open space so I was able to borrow a car to get me some laps and enter my first competitive event! yea!! on the down side I still don't know much about the scale racing crowd other than the racers are genial and tracks are a little slower but way drivier; it's kinda like the old VHS -vs- BetaMax discussions. for the casual driver it's not really a question of better or worse, it's a matter of what appeals (more fastly or more drivey?) and what's available. 132 is a great facility featuring scale model racing on a couple of different circuits with a couple tracks currently off-line including a straight line along the wall. Alan is more a host than a front man, ready to share his vast knowledge and stories to entertain as well as educate and introduce people to the world of little cars. and of course parts and accessories and cars are available for purchase. If you never have you really should. if you did you will. if you do you know: race what you like, like what you race, but above all it's supposed to be fun :-) guess I'm gonna buy at least one car when I come back.

To drive the track solo under their HPDE track days, they required me to take their "One Day High Performance Driving" class which entailed a morning "street skills" session followed by an afternoon coached "on track" session. It's not until a second track day where they clear you for "full solo" driving. It's an expensive initial buy-in, but makes for nicer track days (compared to other sanctioned companies). The instructors are all friendly and willing to chat with you when they're not running around coaching others. Find some time to chat with them as they have different tips, tricks, and driving styles you may pick up on. Thanks Don and Donna for running an awesome school!

this business sold me a car that broke within 24 hours of purchasing it, a set screw that's suppose…read moreto be loctite in place fell out causing the wheel hub and tire to separate from the vehicle, after that the steering servo has completely broken and an additional screw that's suppose keeps the axle in place fell off which has caused the axle to damage the entire knuckle. all within 1 week of owning the car. only been driving on grass and asphalt. the business told me they would not do anything for me or refund any money when I've spent $1,900 on this setup. I will be filing small claims against this business this afternoon and will provide updates on everything as it proceeds for future customers

Decided to support my local hobby shop and maybe get some pointers from the staff. Google reviews looked decent. We walked in and the old dude just looked at us. No greeting. No welcome in, how you doing. I eventually said how you doing. Just and ok he says. I proceed to tell him I'm new to RC and just bought my first car. No response. Just a blank stare. Hmm ok I think. Well I need some nitro and glow plugs. How many? 2, 3,10, 15, he says in a short, unfriendly tone. Dude had no customer service skills. As I made my debit payment he glared at my wife and our baby. Maybe he doesn't like our brown skin kind in his store. Who knows? He was rude and made us feel uncomfortable and unwanted in his store. I would've been a repeat customer. I have a nitro car and buying an electric 6s car this week. I'm sure I'll need extra parts and batteries and a charger. Tacoma RC Raceway will never get a penny of that business. I'll buy online and not have do deal with a rude old dude that's ungrateful for my business. I'm a very loyal customer when I find a friendly welcoming business. That old dude was neither friendly or welcoming and made us feel very unwanted in his store. That's my experience there today and good for you if you've had a better experience.

For beginners they hold clinics and membership options to get you started racing. I still to this day come to river valley to relax, jump some doubles and have fun exercising. Its not the nicest track, but it is the best track to train on because of its length and riding surface. I could come to this track every day. its awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!
