There are activities, arts and crafts, photo opportunities, bouncy houses and more! Activities are located outside in the parking lot outside the Marcus Pavilion and inside the Pavilion itself. The Marcus Pavilion was filled to the brim with educational booths and art/craft booths. My daughter and I attempted to try all of them, but it was so jam-packed we were only able to visit half. We ended up spending most of the time outside. She had a great time in a bouncy house and learning about the Fire Truck. There is a stage where performing groups ranging from elementary schoolers to senior groups showed off their stuff. I performed for the Fun Fair when I was in high school. Everyone did a great job. The only time I worried was for a brief second when elementary-aged kids were singing the normally inappropriate/sexual innuendo ridden song Greased Lightning. It turned out it was the kid friendly version. Phew. Wondering if there are food booths available? Of course! In addition to various activities there are food booths selling traditional fair food. Saint Martins, of course, has one. It was SO HOT last year I parked myself near the Saint Martins booth so I could get water and extra ice. My kid ate her weight in burgers, elephant ears, and snowcones. We would have stayed for the parade had I known there was one. The parade is on the second day and closes the event. I will definitely be sure to see it this time! The Lacey Spring Fair is AMAZING. Definitely try to go on both days, if you are able! The Lacey Spring Fun Fair 2013 will be on May 18 - 19. The parade starts at 6 pm on Sunday the 19th.

Visited the clubhouse for a fundraising event and it was lovely. we were greeted in the parking…read morelot by a guy in a golf cart who offered to drive us up to the club. It wasn't a far walk and I'm sure he didn't pick everyone up, but what a cool gesture. The dining room has large window to almost floor windows so there's tons of light and a nice view of the golf greens. The bar was set up outside of the event room and it was perfect. They set up the buffet in the outside hall and had it go one way, so I liked how the staff knew how to optimize the space. Before thhe event they had a tray pass. Only two items, but when we saw the buffet I'm glad we didn't fill up on the cream cheese stuffed peppers and the crab filled mushroom appetizers. The restrooms were clean and they had them located on both sides. This was a great space to hold an event, so I'm glad to have that on my list for the future.

Nettle Fest was an absolute blast. It's a potluck style festival where attendees make and bring…read moredishes and drinks made with nettles. Folks are friendly. The food is delicious. I met a wonderful range of people and had the chance to swap recipes. I absolutely loved hearing everyone brag about their dishes! Nettle Fest is celebrated at Calliope Farm in Olympia, WA. It's all ages friendly and definitely kid friendly. I'm going again next year!

Sausage Fest is truly a community festival of sausages. Is there accordion music? Check! 3 types of…read moresausage served with warm potato salad and red cabbage? Check! Are there event t-shirts for sale? Triple check! Sausage Fest is a fun all-ages event that has been around for 30 years. It is held at Gull Harbor Lutheran Church. There are two ticket 'donation' prices: One for children and one for adults. The child meal is smaller. It includes one sausage, a roll, warm potato salad, red cabbage, and a dessert. The adult meal includes knockwurst, bockwurst, and kielbasa. Tickets are available at the door or at other community vendors such as Wagner's Bakery. Parking includes the parking lot and the property behind the church. Attendants will show you where to park. When you attend Sausage Fest you should have your ticket in hand when you are ready to be seated. An attendant will take your tickets and place the order for you. You will be seated at a long 'community style' table. There is non-stop accordion and singing. Songs include The Chicken Dance, Roll Out The Barrel, Edelweiss, with some Beatles mixed in. There is a pitcher of water on the table but there is also coffee, tea, and soda available. If you don't mind paying extra you can order the specialty Sausage Fest Root Beer bottled by the Gull Harbor congregation. Honestly, the root beer is one of the reasons I attend! It's delicious and sells out quickly! Assistants are easy to spot because all of the volunteers at the event wear Sausage Fest T-shirts that have an illustration of Martin Luther on the back. If you are unable or uninterested in staying for the event, you can order your meal(s) to go. I was sick one year and had a relative pick up my order. It's a good way to go if you just want a meal without all the hubbub. I for one would rather attend if able. Nothing is better than watching the whole community get down with the Chicken Dance. This event is truly fun for all ages! Other stuff to do at Sausage Fest include buying a t-shirt containing the catchphrase "The Best of the WURST", entering in the raffles for various prizes, and of course, buying Sausage Fest Specialty Root Beer. This event is on the second Friday and Saturday of October. It's a blast and all of the proceeds go to charity. Do you think the sausage-y goodness ends on Saturday? Think again! Any unused food is for sale in bulk the following Sunday after the church service.

Lacey's Children's Day takes place in October at Huntamer Park. It is a FREE all day festival…read morecelebrating children with activity booths and entertainment. Last year's Children's Day was Pirate and Princess themed. It was around Halloween, so there was also a costume contest. The live entertainment was a humorous pirate performance. There was a princess booth were the young ladies smiled for pictures with children. My kid was, of course, first in line for this. The line became quite long and the princesses never for a moment slipped out of their happy voices and sparkly smiles. Timerland Regional Library had a booth providing handmade blank books kids could illustrate. It was definitely a fun booth. They were kind enough to remind me when the Library book sale was. There were SO many craft booths, I can't remember them all. All were great. The main things I remember were the two bouncy houses and the gymnastics bus. My daughter played in them at least 5 times each! If you have a kid this is a great place to take them. It's fun. It's free. It will keep kids occupied for hours.

However, we always find a quality Noble fir if even we have to hunt a bit. This year was REALLY unusual. The Monday after T Day we went with the idea we'd have to spend time searching. The most helpful young man pointed us to a new field of Nobles. And there, no more than 10 feet in from the path was IT (visions of Clark Griswold!). There were countless more even after that Turkey Day rush. The same man came by in his tractor and asked if he could cut it down for us. He had a chain saw. I had a hand saw. No brainer!! The service and selection are first class. Topping this off is the gift shop, where you pay, has all sorts of Christmas related things, including fresh wreaths (which we bought)

We absolutely LOVE the King Agriculture Museum and have been there multiple times! This is a…read morelittle gem of a place just east of the main downtown stretch of Centralia. Open seasonally during the summer, it's a place that you have to check out if you like getting an up-close and personal looksie at vintage farm equipment! Walking in, you enter their main "gift shop" type of room. In it, you will find all sorts of toys, models, and the like - including agriculture vehicles, trucks, construction vehicles, etc. The selection is vast and the pricing is varied, so there is something for everyone. Going through the back exit of that room takes you to the heart of the museum. It includes multiple large, high ceilinged rooms that house their enormous collection of farm equipment. The biggest collection includes tractors, but they've also got other types of equipment and vehicles too. Your visit has to take you outside through their backdoors and enjoy even more, larger pieces of equipment. Back there, your little ones will find a cute little play area that includes a dried bean-filled play table, "big-wheel" type tractors for them to pedal around, and a playground with vintage equipment (remember the old metal slides that burn your skin going down and leave a silver streak down your pants?). LOL! The staff is extremely kind and family friendly. They do not rush you through the visit, are patient with the kids, answer any questions you might have, and let you take your time. I have brought my boys here for almost just the purpose of looking at the models and playing in the back, and the ownership is totally cool with that. They love the fact that the kids like to experience the museum and look at what they have. Very cool, indeed. Their hours are Thursday - Sunday from 10:00am - 4:00pm during June - September. Free for kids 12 and under and only $6.00 for adults, this is an easy and inexpensive option for things to do. The only thing I wish they offered was a membership. Other museums in the area offer a yearly membership that gives you a free admission as one of the perks. Alas, they don't. But oh well. We'll still go there.

It WAS NOT scary there were CHILDREN IN LINE, three 8yr olds were behind us. The animatronic were giving discounted spirit Halloween. My partner had done a ruck HOURS before going (18miles with 25+ pounds on this chest under 4hrs) he was tired sore and his ankle was alittle sad but he was a trooper and stood in line for OVER AN HOUR no complaints. The haunted house makes you walk in a single file line. The walk ways are very narrow and they give you REUSED flimsy glasses to alter your vision. Going into the haunted house it's dark but the ground is FLAT, midway the ground goes to an incline and then declines and that happens over and over again then it suddenly SLANTS OVER AND OVER AGAIN that is the reason my husband limped out of the haunted house. My husband is 6ft and i am 5ft we had to crouch sooo much so we didn't hit our heads so be prepared to take some ibuprofen coming out
