The Tacoma Dome is a large multipurpose arena in downtown Tacoma that handles events at scale in a way that larger, more modern venues sometimes fail to do. I walked into a space where the dome format gives the building a distinctive character that sets it apart from the standard rectangular arena. For a concert, the circular layout meant sightlines were generally workable from most positions in the building. I saw TWICE here, and the show was the kind of performance that fills a space like this in the right way. The production was large enough to justify the venue size, and the floor area in particular delivered the energy that a show like this builds toward. The acoustics in the dome held up better than the building's age might suggest, and the sound carried clearly enough that the vocal and instrumental mix came through without the muddiness that dome venues can sometimes produce. Getting into the venue moved at a reasonable pace even with a full house. Security was present and effective without being intrusive, and the entry process at a sold out show was more organized than I expected. The concession variety was solid and the food lines, while long during peak windows like opener breaks, moved steadily enough. Seating on the upper levels had a comfort issue for taller people, with the sightline angles and seat spacing working better for average height than for anyone over six feet. The main screen visibility also dropped off depending on my position relative to center, so seats closer to the floor or directly facing the stage tend to offer a more complete visual experience. Transit access is one of the practical strengths of the venue, with bus and light rail connections close enough that driving and parking is optional rather than necessary. For a large arena show in the Pacific Northwest, the Tacoma Dome remains one of the more reliable options in the region. read more

I can't believe I have never been here prior to my recent visit for the Ado Hibana tour. I thought the venue was just okay. It obviously is much older than the stadiums / arenas in Seattle. It kinda felt like I was in a big gym. Our seats weren't that great or expensive but we had a great view of the stage and we did not feel like we were that far away. Seats were fairly comfortable too. The parking situation is a bit of a mess and it's a horrible place to drive to and back. There is no easy way to get there. You will be dealing with horrible traffic and there will be lots of constructions going on in the summer time. If my favorite artists decide to perform here in the future, I would not hesitate to come back but Tacoma dome is definitely not my favorite venue for events. read more

Depends on what you're at the Dome for, but we have been to many events from RV shows to concert to PBR and it has always been a fun time. This recent time we went to Holo Holo, and the only complaint was that the food inside was not the best. I ordered a cheeseburger and fries and it just wasn't great. I did like that we had in and out privileges so we ate at a food truck. The location and venue were clean and nice, music was great, and there weren't many long lines so it was quick to get food, and merch. read more

Came here for a concert. Staff was unknowledgeable and several were unfriendly. The seats offered a good amount of leg room however they are set in a bleacher type situation. It's a bit uncomfortable when people start dancing because they shake horribly. It's not located in a convenient area for uber. Streets were closed and uber drivers could not access the designated pick up area. We waited for over an hour to get picked up. I went to the Thunderdome (bass music show) here - and let me tell you, that show has lasers for days! It is not fancy by any means, but I remember having a good time. Get there early because parking can be challenging. I parked in a nearby paid lot. The chances of me driving down and up to Tacoma for another show are close to none, but I don't regret that I went to this one! read more

Parking getting to the Dome was a mad traffic mess. Didn't seem like there's enough staff controlling the traffic. Once we parked across the street at the car museum we were able to get thru the metal detectors. There were multiple locations and they were fairly ready to deal with the crowds. There was medical staff on site I did see them... ample security and police presence. Restrooms were clean. Wouldn't come back for a concert to this location? Probably not. So here's the thing, it's a pretty good venue, but the seats we were in felt dangerous with no handrail and a steep drop. They wouldn't let us go up from the bottom which did have handrails instead it was up and over and down. Also the people next to us stank so bad we left the event early. Not sure why you would sell two sets of seats right next to each other when the whole section is empty. This would have made it a three for me, but I raised it back to a four because the prices for food were pretty reasonable, I mean, not great, but nowhere near as bad as Safeco or even Cheney field read more

I got to see a show here that involved hella lasers. It was great! Parking was $40 by the venue. They allowed parking in the museum across the street, and they also charged $40. I found free street parking up the street. Going back to my car was a bee though because it was uphill. There were two portapotties on the west side, where I entered. Security was fine, but the ticket lines at the entrance were a mess. Getting down to the floor was awkward. There were no direct paths down to the floor, so you had to weave through the seats. There is a section of steep stairs that do not have railings. This caused a bottle neck effect when getting out of the venue. That was the worst part. Everyone was forced to crowd around the steps and push their way up. Honestly I think they should do better. The website says they only allow clear bags. I was weary of this being an indoor venue that I wouldn't be able to breathe with all the vaping, etc. However the ceilings were high enough that I actually had a better time than I normally would at a stage like at NOS in California. There are lockers upstairs, which is nice because you definitely don't need a jacket. Drink tickets were $15. Max 2 per person. read more

I had the best customer service experience surrounding lost PBR tickets. After trying to track them down with UPS and stuck in the automated system abyss I thought reaching out to the Tacoma Dome would be my last ditch effort. Laree answered after just one ring and was very attentive to my needs. She took down my name and number and within just a couple minutes Adam Gesacion, Director of Business Development, called me. He listened to my predicament and offered to help. His customer service went above and beyond my expectations. I will forever hold my experience with The Tacoma Dome Staff with the utmost appreciation and will return for future events in the years to come. While in the Overlook I left my purse in the restroom and although I went back just a few minutes later I thought it would be gone...I frantically went to the hostess and she handed my purse to me and directed me to the staff member who found it. (Handsome man with gray beard) I refrained from hugging him but thanked him enthusiastically and continued the event with even more gratitude in my heart. Fast forward to yesterday evening (12/10/22), we braved the rain squalls from hell and traffic hell from Shoreline to Tacoma to grab an early dinner before seeing Jo Koy. The Homie is now a college student. Pro tips learned from this visit: *Give yourself ample time to get to your destination *Take Exit 135 not 133 from I-5 South, this has little to no traffic *Better yet - park in downtown Tacoma and use light rail to TDome station or walk *Paid parking via card, no cash accepted by the nearby car museum was $30 *Leave excess stuff at home or car trunk, have a clear bag, no pocket knives, be prepared to go through security screening *Masks are optional, but wise to wear at a sold out event *Main doors opened up at 630pm for this particular 8pm event *Trust the signage and not necessarily the onsite staff to locate your seats *Stand or walk around while onsite before the show starts *Be careful when going up and down stairs, the railing is wobbly *Eat before arriving, kiosks and merch onsite had crazy expensive prices *Pack your patience and remember your driving etiquette when leaving the parking lot areas...don't be that honking idiot. Imagine up to 20K trying to exit and leave the TD at the same time. *Followed the traffic flow where most did not go, thankfully found an alternate route to get onto I-5 North Worthwhile because the overall Jo Koy show was fantastic, even had a surprise guest at the end - Macklamore! Tacoma Dome may be my least favorite venue to attend any sort of events. This past weekend, my friend and I went to Thunderdome. If you are lucky and come early, you may be able to find free street parking near the venue. The parking directly across the street is $40, there are restaurants and other places around that charge for parking that is a bit cheaper compared to the $40. I believe the Tacoma Dome Station charges for parking as well when events go on, but not sure how much they would charge. The bathrooms weren't that clean, but there are lots of people going in and out so that is bound to be the case. Leaving the venue once the event was over was horrible though. It took sooo long to wait for people to go up the bleachers since we had to exit from the doors at the top of the bleachers. It would have been way faster if we did not have to all file through the bleachers to leave. Leaving the parking lot also took a very long time. read more

I always have mixed feelings about the Tacoma dome. I recently went here for a holiday food event and the event was lovely but the things that you can't take in or you get stopped for amaze me. Not letting people in with water bottles, a granola bar, etc. I get that they want to make money on the food but ppl that bring small munchies are not likely to buy your food. Also, it was a food fair.... there is other food options there in the event. Small but still. I even saw someone get questioned about a keychain they had. It was a utility one with no knifes and staff were so unsure what to do with it.... Also, why are bathrooms only on one side of the place? Anyway. It's fine. No an amazing venue or anything. 5 stars for the lady working the Elysian Brewing stand across from entrance to section 118 for the Tool concert. She had blonde short hair maybe in her 50's. I left my wallet back at my seat, my stomach wasn't feeling well so I asked for a cup to use at the water fountain. She said all the cups are accounted for (counted) so she couldn't give one away. I thanked her and started to walk away and she called me back, gave me her employee water. She didn't have to go out of her way.....but it made a dramatic difference in my night. I hope someone can thank her for me. Now for the negative......security at the metal scanners. Manager was rude when I tried to ask about bringing in a poster tube that was in the recycle bin by the scanners. Then we go inside the venue and other people are walking around with the tubes. Crowd was so thick in the hallways it was unbareable. Will not go to this venue unless it's the only option. read more

Entrance to the arena was disorganized and took a bit longer than it should have. Parking is Awful ($80 to park in Tacoma?? WTH). Be prepared to WAlK. We parked at the train station and hiked it to the Dome ($20.00). It took over an HOUR to get OUT of the garage. The Tacoma Dome / venue is ok. They have added more modern features for faster drink service. The Acoustics are ok too. I wouldn't go out of my way to see a show here unless it was someone that you really really really wanted to see (Elton John for me). They do still have a clear bag policy (as of 10/22). read more

Throughout our email communication, Tiffany was extremely informative regarding ADA seating and helped us determine the best location for my client. She was also able to arrange accessible parking and secure a seating area that minimized my client's mobility challenges. Tiffany went above and beyond, and my client could not have been happier. Came for the PBR event and this was my first time at the Dome. To start off, parking wasn't great. It seems great being right in front of the venue but once you leave it's disorganized chaos and you'll be stuck there a while. Now that I see other reviews more, I would park further away and walk next time. The dome seems to need some updating overall. Immediately we noticed the neon shapes in the back wall which give it an old casino/arcade vibe. Bathrooms seriously need updating. No reason to have one giant urinal for the men's bathrooms, that sounds uncomfortable. The sinks in all the bathrooms also don't work well. The vendor situation could be better, quite a few stands were closed and the food didn't look very good. We stuck to beer, which surprisingly they had a variety of choices at different stands. Our seats were pretty good in section 102 and in a closer row. The area and everything was okay and comfortable to enjoy the show. Seems like there's great events here but the Dome needs some work. read more

Parking took one hour. Never have I been to a large venue with this level of incompetence. My show starts now and we are still not in a parking spot. Concert started at 8pm. After taking an hour to park we still had to wait in line until 8:30pm to get inside. Inside, multiple bathrooms had toilets which didn't work/clogged/constantly running. I've always heard about this place because of the Trailblazers, but never had the pleasure. Checked out a K-Pop band called Tomorrow x Together and the band was great, but the stadium lis just okay. Getting through security was fine, but they don't allow you to bring a bag unless it's one of those see through purses, so we ended up stuffing all of our things into our pockets. I understand the reasoning behind it, but I would've been more prepared had I known. When we got inside, all the bathrooms had outrageously long lines and so did the merch tables, so you pretty much had to wait till the show started to get either of those things. I was in the nosebleeds which makes it super hard to see the video screens on stage. They couldn't have larger displays on the walls? We ended up leaving an hour early because we didn't want to get stuck in traffic on the one street out of there. I probably will avoid going to any shows here, but I'm glad I learned for this show. read more

My wife and I attended the Luke Combs concert at the Dome. We stayed at the EQC for this concert to avoid the bottleneck of trying to leave. Rather than pay the $40 to park at the Dome, we took a taxi from the casino for $30 round-trip. Thankfully there are several entrances into the Dome since there were so many people. Bags were checked and we each had to walk through a metal detector before entering. My wife and I chose floor seating for Luke. Poor choice on our end since everybody stood during the concert and we couldn't see a thing without standing ourselves. Security and Alcohol control were constantly chasing people away who kept trying to access seats that didn't belong to them or stand in the aisle-way. Luke sounded great. I was a bit surprised that the Dome didn't have any monitors mounted anywhere for those seated further away to view Luke on. Hell, I would have liked to view a screen myself even with as close as we were sitting. All other venues that we go to have viewing monitors: Key Arena, Paramount, Angel of the Winds Arena, etc. Beer and bottled water were disgustingly priced. Beer was $13 and water was $5. Overall, Luke Combs was amazing. Tacoma Dome isn't our favorite concert venue. read more

Went for a concert. Entry was quick and easy for the door I went in. Food was okay, only got it because I was hungry as I forgot to eat before going. If you sit in the back of the dome be prepared for some steep stairs to get to your seats. Some people were getting confused where the sections started and ended that they ended up asking where their seats were to which the gentleman that worked there was telling them to come to the section I was in even though they were on the other side. read more

Were here with my spouse on the Queen concert. What could I say... acoustic inside is actually good, but that it. All other thing just 100 cons. Especially that we've got email for day before the concert that it will be too crowd there and would be good to use public transportation. We've used it. But it was our mistake, because we had a super long trip to our home in Seattle downtown from there at night. We've met couple girls who also have same issue like us. And I believe that they had to find a hotel for 1 night... Because there are wasn't any buses in the schedule at the end of the concert. P.S. beer is also so so for 11-13$!. read more

It was the Jonas brothers concert (!!!) last night and i sat in section 203 row N seats 18/19. If you're scared of heights i would stay away from the 200 sections unless you're in the first row! It's really steep when sitting/standing and not a lot of room to move around. Stairs are a bit steep, i wore wedges but i was fine! But i couldn't imagine being under the influence and being up here! It would be a nightmare. Other than that, if you aren't scared of a little height, the view of the stage was pretty good for the price i paid (under $50)! Perks is no ones blocking your view! I also had no problem with the sound quality! It was amazing! The j bro's setup had 2 large monitors. Parking was sooo easy! No complaints. Staff was kind and helpful! read more

Attended the Tacoma Dome this past weekend for the Ateez concert. The concert was amazing but I was very disappointed with the Tacoma Dome staff. Please teach your staff about the different mobility aids disabled people need to use. A seated cane is a necessary mobility aid for those with POTS, connective tissue diseases, fibromyalgia, and other invisible diseases. My friend and I, who are disabled, had to suffer in pain when staff told us we were not allowed to use our mobility aids on the floor. They were "worried" that we would get trampled. Your staff should be worried that a disabled person will pass out or need medical attention due to their ignorance. Disabled people are not stupid. We were using our seated canes only before the concert started while all of the abled body people were waiting sitting on the floor. Were they not in danger of being trampled too? How is it different that we were sitting on our mobility aids? My disability didn't allow me to sit on the floor. Would you ask a disabled person to stand in pain while all the other abled people get to sit on the floor comfortably? That is exactly what happened to my friend and I. Your staff was rude, ignorant, disrespectful and hostile. We on the other hand complied respectfully despite this, because we felt we had no other choice. I have never faced this blatant disability discrimination at any other venue. Do better. read more

It is smaller than Climate Pledge which I appreciate, however no matter how far away from the stage you sit at climate pledge you can see the stage and the huge television monitors. At Tacoma Dome you wouldn't be able to see the monitors if you are pretty close to the floor. The floor seating is VERY tight. Not comfortable at all and even though you are close to the stage your view can be easily blocked by the rows in front of you. read more

If I could rate the event, staff and their rules, I would give them a zero. Multiple women have very tiny purses with barely anything in them and there's a bunch of arrogant event turning them away. This is absolutely ridiculous, half the population (woman) has a purses. It is nothing but a false pretense on security and charging for overpriced lockers. Once I saw this, I started doing some researching, and I am seeing multiple blogs talking about off-duty police officers being turned away for carrying. I have not seen a single ON DUTY police officer during the event. This is prime for a devastating event. I hope the city recognizes this potential problem and get it corrected quickly. read more

There's a reason I avoided it for so long but when Elton John said he was on his final final farewell tour I knew it was time to give in. We arrived in the dome vicinity 30 min before showtime only to sit in a nightmare of traffic that was basically a parking lot in all directions around the venue. False advertising of parking prices, disrespectful staff, & not ADA friendly policies. Several conflicting signs posted with differing prices for parking, facing the same parking lot. My little sister is wheelchair bound & had a bag on the back of her wheelchair that she uses constantly to keep her hands free to move herself independently, & security told her the bag was "too big". That if she wanted inside that she would have to rent a locker, which being on a fixed income & only getting to attend the concert because someone got her ticket for her, she did not have funds to cover. So my sister got to be singled out in front of a line full of people & told that she was going to have to hold her things & be unable to move herself... which is even more embarrassing when you consider how much resentment/hostility/mistreatment folks in need of ADA accomodations are greeted with in their DAILY LIVES... so to single them out & deprive them of their independence because their bags may be "too big"(which is kind of laughable considering it is hardly wide enough to span the handles of her wheelchair), is beyond disrespectful ... especially since she wasn't refusing to allow them to search the bag before entering the building, & the fact that the event was selling bags of equal size just on the other side of the doors... but again, being on a fixed income, she is not able to purchase said bag. So, please, tell me how ADA individuals are being accommodated in these cases!?!?! read more

Aramack IS HORRIBLE to its employees. They are currently in arbitration for wages. They REFUSE to let workers split tips amongst all workers to include, cooks, servers and everyone hired as a shift worker. Instead they WILL ONLY LET CASHIERS get tips. BTW Cashiers are not paid by Aramark, they are temp employees who make twice what hourly wage workers make. It doesn't make sense to just give the Cashiers tips, when all employees should split all tips equally. The cashier HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH MAKING FOOD, THEY RING UP THE ORDER. PLEASE pass on this outrage Cahiers asking for tips is pushing it and ARAMACK AGREES read more

Parking for this place is very expensive, crammed, and just a giant bottleneck. Poorly designed and limited. Getting out was a nightmare and they eventually just made everyone turn around and drive the other way that takes you around to a different entrance to the freeway that's much farther away because things were so jammed. Bathrooms are nasty, the urinal is one long trough that 10 people are peeing in all at once. I've never seen that. ALSO, just a heads up about the Men's room, turns out even though it says men I guess it is gender neutral because there were 4+ women that came in. I think they were saying the women's line was too long so they came to the men's. Not the best venue. Poor quality and the acoustics were not very good. read more

This is a neat place to go to concerts and or events. My husband brought me here for the Garth Brooks concert, which by the way was awesome! The place was very organized and clean. We bought some beer and snacks. The lines were a tad bite long but hey! the lines are long in all events. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our seats were a bit on the back but in front facing the stage and we were quite pleased. The bathrooms were something else haha, well I should say the woman's bathrooms were always slammed. Same thing as anywhere you go, there is always a big waiting line. However I do enjoy a clean and fresh smelling restroom and they did awesome in that department. The cleaning crew was doing great. As for parking, it's a bit of a nightmare but again, where isn't it. Right!?! So you just go with the flow, enjoy music in your vehicle and stay warm or dry. read more

I was told I had to put my mini backpack in bag check because it was too big and while I don't mind, I had to download an app and pay $12, which normally I wouldn't mind if I knew ahead of time but the security was rude and didn't inform me. Food was awful, the lines were incredibly disorganized, and our seats were taken because people were being sent to the wrong seats, so we ended up with worse seats then we paid for. Everyone was confused. Terrible experience, especially since bigger bands and events tend to be here, you'd think it would be better. I can't stress how much I would genuinely skip out on an event if it is ever here again. It needs major changes and policy updates, and far clearer communication.
