He listened to us and made suggestions and gave us a quote while he was here. We agreed and he told us it would take about 3 weeks to get the materials. So I HAD an original 1963 blue cast iron bathtub with a window in the shower. A GC back in 2010 told me the tub couldn't be removed without gutting the whole bathroom. I couldn't afford that. In January 2020, I learned there was water damage behind the tiles beneath the window. Tiles started falling off. I decided I would get the problem taken care of after bonuses went out at work. By the time the bonuses went out, we were in a pandemic. So I put an ENORMOUS band aid on the problem. Now that the pandemic is over, SSDB took great care of me and my bath. Steve came over and did a full assessment of the situation, provided clear, concise options, recommendations, and easy to understand pricing. I was impressed by his knowledge and confidence. He assured me the tub could be removed without major damage to the existing flooring and explained why they could do what another contractor had told me couldn't be done. He also advised if there was damage, what the would do to remedy the issue. Suffice it to say, no damage was to the floor. Normally, I would solicit 3 quotes for the job, but the pricing seemed more than fair, and as I mentioned, I was impressed by the personal sales approach. So, against my better judgment, I trusted my instinct and it paid off. The tub, surrounding walls and window were removed. They installed all new walls, a window, shower base, floor to ceiling shower, all the fixtures, a corner tower, and were out by 5:00 p.m. Color me impressed. The shower bench was back ordered. It came in about 4 weeks later. They came back and installed it in about 30 minutes. He also saved the grip bar to install when the bench came in to ensure the alignment made sense. My wife and I are ecstatic about the final result. We couldn't dream of being happier with the finished product. I highly recommend South Shore Dream Bath. read more

4/14/21 I wish there were more stars!! That's how pleased I am with my new "Dream" Bath to Shower conversion. I first met with Mike when he came to my condo to measure, show me pictures of completed projects they had done, and spend a great deal of time helping me to decide what colors, styles, accessories, etc. would work for my daughter and I. He had lots of samples for me to choose from. He had some good suggestions and was not pushy. He wanted us to have the perfect shower designed specifically our needs. One of the main reasons I decided to do this conversion is I had two pretty tough major surgeries the end of last year; and attempting to get in and out of my old tub to take a shower was a pretty scary! We had to put up suction grip grab bars and I had to use a shower seat. Even then, taking a shower was difficult and very worrisome for me. Unfortunately, I have more surgery in my future; and I needed a new shower both for safety and a much needed modernization of my 20 year old Master Bath! I chose SS Dream Bath because they had competitive prices and awesome reviews. Yesterday, Rich and Bob showed up at 8:30 AM. They worked diligently and efficiently to finish the whole project by about 3:30 PM. Both of the guys were friendly, polite, knowledgeable, and professional. My bathroom, upstairs hall and downstairs entryway were spotless when they left. They took care of the disposal of the old tub, walls, etc. My new shower has a built in seat, hand held sprayer and an awesome rain spray shower head, built in shelves and two sturdy, long, permanent grab bars. The edge of the shower is only about an inch high and eliminates all concerns I previously had of falling. The finished project is BEAUTIFUL!! I am so happy I used SS Dream Bath!! Rich put our walk in shower in two years ago and we were thrilled! We recently had the old Bathfitter's walls taken down and had the walls match the shower insert and had a new vanity put in. I'm so glad I read the reviews on here, as they are why I choose to go with South Shore Dream Bath to install a a new (acrylic) tub line, shower walls, and gorgeous shower door for me. It is absolutely beautiful and still looks the same it did the day they put it in with minimal effort cleaning it every couple of weeks....and the bathtub is white! Their liner is so much better than what you'd get a Home Depot in which the tub is pre-made and they basically slap it into your old tub...and you lose a lot of space in your tub/shower as a result... Not with these guys. They take numerous measurements inside your tub/shower and have the pieces cut to fit and mold to your existing tub/shower so you really don't lose any noticeable space in your tub/shower. The maintenance guys who work for my condo association were so impressed. I have recommended South Shore Dream Batch to numerous people and have allowed my condo associatoin to show numerous people in my complex who were thinking about having one done. We recently had a bathtub converted to a shower. My husband has Parkinson's and needed a shower that would be accessible for him. We love the conversion. The representative that delivered the presentation was very knowledgeable, helpful, courteous, and "not pushy." We opted for a shower with a grab bar, seat, and a fixed shower head as well as a hand held. The option is great. The step into the shower is probably about 3" with the door frame; definitely do-able. The installers were terrific. Attention to detail and precision were noticeable. About a month ago we had our bathroom completely renovated with S.S. Dream Bath! I recommend them highly for a number of reasons.....Steve, the salesperson, is very professional and very patient. He helped us out with our choices, and the best thing is that it's "one stop shopping", which made it very easy. We didn't have to run around trying to find everything, the only thing we had to pick out was the tile for the floor, and even then we only had to tell Steve what we chose and he ordered it, so it was all part of the price, and we didn't have to go pick it up or anything! Rich the contractor was so easy to work with, as was the electrician and the plumber. The first day we had a problem with a leak and I can't tell you how efficiently Rich and the electrician were at coming back to solve the problem, they even went out and bought a new light fixture (the leak had run into a light in the ceiling on the first floor) and put it in immediately. Problem solved!! If I had to find a negative with the process at all, it was with the floor tile guy, I had called him to come back to fix something, and he finally responded after a second call, but then we had to call him again and he never got back to us at all. Otherwise all the guys were great to work with and very efficient. Also, when I talked with Steve after everything was done, to finish the payment process, he told me that they couldn't use the light fixtures we had picked out for some reason, so they went and found others that matched and then took them off the bill! I thought that was over and above the norm for customer service! And the price was within our budget and reasonable. All in all, it was a stress-free project, finished in a week, and everyone was very easy to work with! If you are looking for a beautiful new bathroom at a most reasonable price, and don't want to run around crazy looking for everything, this is the place!!! read more

Admittedly, my review comes from a point of frustration. The work that I hired SSDB to do, was completed, on time, and they were cheaper then the other estimates I got. There are a few small annoyances that I didn't notice right away that have since come to light: #1 they installed the shower curtain rod about 2 inches too high so it is higher than the rim of the shower base and too high for a standard shower curtain. This usually results in water dripping out during a shower. #2 the flooring installers only removed some of the molding/baseboards at the base of the walls, so the tile goes to the sheetrock on one side and to the baseboard on the other. The grout is also cracking and its not even a year old. My opinion of the work completed is this - They do show up, on time. The guys were nice and respectful of my home. Ask questions and inspect the work. If you think it looks wrong, say something. read more
