Mike M is the manager and does an amazing job. Kacie is my savior and deserves some type of Budget award. My step-mom had reserved two cars at this location and one at the Kelowna location. They got stranded in Alberta and were unable to pick the cars up on the designated day. I emailed the manager, Mike, and he responded immediately saying he'd hold the cars for us. Of course, he did and we picked up the SUVs from Kacie the day after originally reserved. They even let us leave the vehicles in the lot while we went to the Penticton Farmer's market, 2 blocks away. Days later we had to go to Alberta to drive my dad to pick up his stranded RV. Kacie was able to switch out our vehicle for a larger one with no problem. Even after our mess up and not getting to the downtown location before they closed, they met us at the airport location and made it happen. What really impressed me was the way that Kacie was able to clear up the mess that the guy at the Kelowna location had made of our rental. We told him about the crazy situation of me renting all the vehicles in the place of my step mom, who would we driving each of the three vehicles, and when they would be returned. The incompetent guy at Kelowna had me paying for a supplemental insurance that did _nothing_ for me. Kacie told me that the supplement was only for people using a credit card with car insurance on it, which I told the guy in Kelowna. She was very sweet but she was clearly frustrated that the guy in Kelowna had me paying for something that had no worth to me. She fixed our contracts and back dated them. She was patient, helpful, and all around the best car rental person I have ever dealt with. I guess it could be a small town thing, but whatever it is, I'm impressed. I will always rent from them when in the Okanagan, which is often.

When I picked up the car, the desk clerk presented me with a bill (679 CAD) that was more than twice the email estimate on my 6-day reservation (296 CAD). When I protested the amount and showed her the original estimate, she looked confused and said, "for some reason they are charging you an extra $50 per day. I don't know why. I will make some calls and get that sorted out. In the meantime, go ahead and take the car, because this is only an estimate, not the final charge." She clearly didn't deal with it because the higher charge is on my credit card bill and neither the corporate nor the Penticton airport Budget office will do anything to rectify it. I have this ugly feeling that I was played for a fool. Glad I can dispute it through my credit card company - who knows if that'll go anywhere -but definitely want to spread the word about Budget and particularly this Budget location. Update: Only after filing a dispute through my credit card company (communications previous to that were completely fruitless), Budget returned an amount that brings my charges in line with what I was expecting to pay. This took weeks of phone calls and paperwork. During the course of this process, I happened upon Budget's Facebook page where I found literally thousands of recent posts where customers complained of being lied to, cheated, and put into unsafe vehicles. I don't feel good about leaving such a negative review, but it seems to me that this company has a corporate culture problem, and I hope to save someone else from the wasted time and stress I experienced in my dealings with them.

Thank goodness, because with OK Wine Shuttle, not only did we need not worry about our sobriety, we also had an air conditioned place to store our purchases. I really didn't know what to expect when we booked the shuttle. I certainly didn't expect the friendliest driver hailing from Ontario by way of Burnaby to ham it up with us the whole time! Nor did I expect to be the only people on the shuttle. Going mid week has its perks - less people is one of them. Feeling like we had our own private driver for $45/person was another, and might I add, very worth it. Baller! From what I gathered from JP (the driver extraordinaire), it's a little more hectic on the weekends. When they're busy they will attempt to group you together at wineries and will shuttle you around to the next one, making their way from Penticton to the furthest reaches of Naramata and back again. With the wineries keeping a tight proximity to one another, going to the ones that you want to is pretty doable. They also focus on both the family estates as well as the more established spots. Some notes: if you're in Penticton, there are three main "hop on hop off" spots. If you're in Naramata, call ahead and they'll come get you! Our driver mentioned that he knows how busy it's going to be around 1:30 pm. We started with him before 11am and had made a lot of headway by that time. It's worth starting out earlier! Bring cash. They're cash only! And I'm sure they appreciate tips too.

Not only were we the only ones doing the tour, but they had a great deal and the driver, Bernie, was amazing. He had great recommendations of where to visit, and even took a lot of photos for us. We really enjoyed the tour! The bus was big and comfortable, and the Bernie provided us with a box for all the wine we bought. Great customer service and an all around great experience. I would highly recommend this one :-)

I was impressed with how proactive Kent was throughout the process, first by helping us plan an advance itinerary that was both enjoyable and efficient, and then by squeezing us in for extra tastings at some hidden gems when we found ourselves with time to spare between appointments. It was abundantly clear throughout the day how well Kent knows and loves the area, and how well-regarded he is amongst the management at the local wineries. I mean, they are good, but when compared to the other wineries in the area, the wines scored lower on my list. This was a smaller vineyard so the tasting area was held inside, which felt more like a basement even though it was on the ground floor. It's still worth a visit if you're in the area though.

The person pouring the wines was dry, lacking personality and enthusiasm for their wines and we had to ask about each one and pry to get information.
