But that was before the new legal alcohol consumption limits went into play. And you know what? Thank goodness, because with OK Wine Shuttle, not only did we need not worry about our sobriety, we also had an air conditioned place to store our purchases. I really didn't know what to expect when we booked the shuttle. I certainly didn't expect the friendliest driver hailing from Ontario by way of Burnaby to ham it up with us the whole time! Nor did I expect to be the only people on the shuttle. Going mid week has its perks - less people is one of them. Feeling like we had our own private driver for $45/person was another, and might I add, very worth it. Baller! From what I gathered from JP (the driver extraordinaire), it's a little more hectic on the weekends. When they're busy they will attempt to group you together at wineries and will shuttle you around to the next one, making their way from Penticton to the furthest reaches of Naramata and back again. With the wineries keeping a tight proximity to one another, going to the ones that you want to is pretty doable. They also focus on both the family estates as well as the more established spots. Some notes: if you're in Penticton, there are three main "hop on hop off" spots. If you're in Naramata, call ahead and they'll come get you! Our driver mentioned that he knows how busy it's going to be around 1:30 pm. We started with him before 11am and had made a lot of headway by that time. It's worth starting out earlier! Bring cash. They're cash only! And I'm sure they appreciate tips too.

Not only were we the only ones doing the tour, but they had a great deal and the driver, Bernie, was amazing. He had great recommendations of where to visit, and even took a lot of photos for us. We really enjoyed the tour! The bus was big and comfortable, and the Bernie provided us with a box for all the wine we bought. Great customer service and an all around great experience. I would highly recommend this one :-)

It was a nice Syrah (light with very subtle white pepper notes) but not noticably distinctive from the other Syrahs in the valley. We are primarily red drinkers so our notable favorites are karma and mocha. They also have two great roses and a beautiful bubbly. You really can't go wrong with any of them. We have done many wine tastings over the years and every time the staff is so friendly, educated and helpful. They have a very high staff retention which is a great sign and always nice to see familiar staff. It's fun the winery hosts a Diwali party in November and Holi in the summer. We went to the Diwali festival this last year and it was so much fun. We love the community aspect of the winery! The property is beautiful and their wine shop and restaurant are very nice. Luckily they are dog friendly in the wine shop and on the grass section of the patio. For the restaurant we've dined next to the vines which is just stunning view. The food is fantastic and has great variety. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Only con is that they don't make their own naan which is a shame but oh well.

My friend and I ended our 5 day tour tasting wines throughout Okanagan Valley at Oliver/Osoyoos and Road 13 was definitely our favorite for the area. The tasting room is grand - just step beyond the massive front door into their modern, vaulted ceiling tasting room with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the vines and lake beyond! We ended up chatting with our pourer about wine (and life) for nearly 2 hours! It was a fun experience and my friend and I both ended up purchasing bottles to go. My favorite wine was their Chenin Blanc (regular and sparkling)! Definitely worth a visit if you find yourself in Oliver, BC.

Honestly, everything was absolutely delicious. If I lived closer, I would be here regularly and store a bunch of their bottles in my pantry. On this trip, I bought a bottle each of the 2022 Sage Grand Reserve, 202 The Pearle, 2020 Blueberry, and 2022 The Flame. They must not have any members because NO ONE was there. She suggested an awkward couch in the shade apart from all other areas of the winery, it was a weird place to sit but that's all she could offer us. Why? Don't waste your money here wine lovers. We feel that the wineries are trying to promote their products and should not be charging a fee to promote their products. That being said while we enjoy Desert Hills wines they will not be on our itinerary on future trips. There are plenty of wineries who have wines that are equally as good and do not charge to sell or promote their wines.
