One of my seedlings favorite libraries. The children section has so much for them to do, even a vast selection of books in Spanish and English. I've been to one of the classes they have for books and babies and it was fun. They throw events often for children and teens. One the first floor they have a whole room dedicated to teens and thing they do (games, read, video games, etc.) The librarian is very personable and she will be sure to inform you about the programs! After were done playing inside and reading books we take a walk by the pond and sometimes feed the geese if we have bread. One could really spend a couple of hours here. Great library! Thanks for always keeping your community in mind!

Play area for children was cool. They also host pretty cool children's events from time to time.

They have a calendar of things they have going on from exercise classes, to "baby book worm" toddler reading gatherings, to home buying educational seminars! I went to the first counter and told the lady that I was there for a new library card and she asked me for my id or something with my address on it. I told her that I had a picture of an envelope with my name on it and she said unfortunately they could not accept this. She was so nice about it and told me that they are open until 9pm. I was able to find something with my address on it and I returned. I was able to get my library card and I went to the information desk and asked if they had the books on my list. Both of the ladies behind the counter were so nice and helpful. Unfortunately none of the books I wanted were available, but they were at other locations. The awesome ladies recommended a few, but I had either read them or they were not available. I ended up checking out their rows and rows of non fiction and fiction books. I finally decided on a Liane Moriarity book. I told the ladies what I decided and they were so nice and supportive about my choice. I used their self check out, which I love and checked out their community wall. They have tons of activities and events going on at the library and online. With your library card you can get tons of free e-books.

I really appreciate their drive-through book drop for when they are closed and the huge free parking lot. I also voted here once. The staff are super friendly and helpful! They have helped me locate items and put stuff on hold for me. Jennifer recommended a book to me that I ended up loving. I like that the holds are right inside the front door and that you can do self-checkout. I haven't had the time to do any of the many activities or book clubs but I enjoyed participating in the 2024 adult reading challenge. They had interesting and diverse reading recommendation lists for the prompts and I got to read some wonderful books that I would not have otherwise read.

This branch is about to go through some renovations (as of 3/19/2024) there is a lot of tarping around the entrance, not really sure what is planned. The have the holds right up front, and the check out machines are a bit more modern than in SF. They have several small meeting rooms that are first come first serve. On some nights they are open until 9pm. The hold shelf is only valid for 1 week, not 10 days like SF, and I believe there will be late fees, but I haven't experienced them yet. The website is a little wonky, why can't libraries figure this out? - ahh... non-profits, gotta love 'em!

Oh, the hours I have spent in this library. Some good, some bad…read more For students, this is the primary space to find a guaranteed quiet space for work, to print using your MavID, where to go to utilize the FabLab, or to get Einstein Bagels. The basement is a more open student area, with vending machines. Additionally, if you walk down there and immediately look to your left, you should see exercise bikes and treadmills fitted with surfaces to read or study while working out. There are only a couple, so they are first come, first serve. The 6th floor is a big open space with very little furniture, and offices. Great view from the window, however. The other floors are a mix of "quiet floors" and study floors, and the legend on each floor should tell you. The majority of the students hang on floor 2, which is not a quiet floor, but offers the freedom to talk, numerous desktop computers that can be utilized logging in with your MyMav credentials and a tutoring station. Additionally, if you are looking for a small convenience store, this is your spot. Nearly every floor has study rooms that require a reservation. This is the biggest downside - you have to scan the QR code, or type the website, and when you do, you will notice that most rooms are reserved for months out. If you want to reserve a room (particularly one for midterms or finals) I suggest exploring your options by the 3rd week of the semester. The library is 24 hours (with a few exceptions), but if you are a guest (not a student, or a student that does not have a UTA ID) then you will be asked to leave at midnight when UTA Police come around for ID check. From what I have been told, this is due to a previous issue with homeless people sleeping in the library. If you wish to take advantage of the library, but you are not a student, a drivers license will grant you access at the front desk, and the second floor has a guest computer that you can login to. If you can, check out the trees directly in front of the library during the holiday season - the trees are decorated with UTA blue and orange lights. Happy studying!
