I walked into Duncan's office at 5:30 p.m. on a Wed afternoon, and he graciously made time for me and gave me a snap shot of the Boston market he handles. I was with my daughter, and we had just flown in from Portland Oregon. We were looking for a summer sublet and were not familiar with Boston. Duncan gave us great advice about where to focus our search and said he might have a unit coming available that could work for us. Fast forward four days, Duncan met us on a Sunday morning to show us a unit and it was perfect! After our tour I headed to the airport to for my flight back to the west coast and filled out the application while I waited at the gate. Tried to set up a showing for an apartment with them through zillow but they never responded to my email. Called the office and managed to set up an appointment with a realtor named Lauren who said she would meet me at the apartment at 5pm and gave me her number in case i needed to contact her. I can't speak for SERG in general but Brian Clark is an incompetant realtor. He made several clerical errors on my lease and then blamed me for them and yelled at me about it. He then lied to me about information on my rental agreement and threatened me with debt collectors. After yelling at me, lying to me, and threatening me he then told me that he will not take any responsibility for the problem. Also, did I mention that I paid him almost $2000. to show me an apartment once and write a correct lease? I just don't want this ti happen to anyone else--i'm not saying don't work with SERG, just stay away from their incompetent realtors. read more

Went in their office, girl was friendly and the guy was an asshole. Was looking to rent a parking space, was informed of an available spot close to my condo, when I called a few minutes after leaving to express my interest, the girl told me it was no longer available. A few days later, I see that it was posted on craigslist by someone else and when I called the guy said it was still available! I suggest that you put a sign that states Hispanics are not allowed to rent!!!!! Racist. read more

We had a few issues with one of their agents who actually walked through an active construction site causing some damage, but Tim called me immediately, and sent me a check for the damage. If you are inquiring about any listing make sure to stay away from Lisa Gilman. I dealt with her for three weeks and have never experienced the disrespect and immaturity from a working professional. Lisa made constant errors including the name of the landlords on the lease, which was a fight with her because she felt as though she was always right before ever checking with another colleague. She somehow always had an answer (an incorrect answer) to everything and did not take the time to check with the listing landlord about constant questions I had before signing the lease. I received phone calls as late as midnight sometimes and text messages complaining as well as messages to me meant for a significant other (extremely careless and unprofessional) where she claimed it showed how hardworking she was even though she was calling me to rant to me for thirty minutes. An absolute nightmare dealing with her, I cannot even begin to describe to the end of the annoyance and deep frustration we experienced. I am appalled that myself and the other tenant were both actually charged $1000 for her to make countless mistakes (daily) that could be avoided if she took the time to look over paperwork, lease terms, and information on the property. 0/10 To the comment towards my review, no one was living on the west coast... both landlords live in a 5 mile radius. Nice work, clearly It is a tendency of you agency to pull random information to make anything seem adequate. Ironic that two beneficial reviews were posted after mine. read more

I would not recommend South End Realty Group. My husband and I wanted to look at apartments in the South End, so we reached out to the general contact email. Sarah Harris responded to us in a timely manner and was very energetic about helping us out with our search. So we book a meeting for 10am on Sunday and plan to meet at their offices to start the search and look at a few properties. On Sunday morning, my husband and I get in the car to drive into the city (we don't live close so it's actually quite an inconvenience), and I decide to give Sarah a call to touch base and let her know we will arrive in a few minutes. I look at my email to pull up her number, and I find that she emailed me at 9:10am, telling me that there are actually no properties that fit our description on the market at the moment and that we should push the meeting time back. So, she emailed us less than 1 hour before the appointment to cancel and on top of that, she clearly didn't do any research on apartments prior to the morning of our appointment. At minimum, the least she could have done was pick up the phone and stop us before coming into the city. We thought this was extremely unprofessional and honestly, a waste of our morning. We will not be using South End Realty Group in the future and made it very clear to Sarah that we were upset. Instead of an apology or anything in response, we received silence. Do yourself a favor, use anyone else but South End Realty Group to find a place to live. read more

Thank you Cian from South End Realty! South End Realty saved what was otherwise a TOTALLY HORRIBLE interaction with BLACKSTONE WILLIAMS realty. I was using Blackstone Williams to look at a unit that was actually being leased by South End Realty. Blackstone was terrible to interact with and claimed I couldn't get any of my deposits back, but South End very kindly listened and returned my money, no issue. I even requested they return the money without involving Blackstone and they respected that. I will never use this group again!! The realtor got back to me when it was convenient for her, if she got back to me at all. After I signed the application and she had my money she was never around! She never followed through with anything until I called her over and over again! Never mind the fact that the apart I am in is horrible! I used them to sell my house as well as buy my new house. Tim was great throughout the entire proccess. The house we sold had some issues so he brought in a contractor to address them. He also took care of the staging when it came time to show it. We have 2 kids so our place was a bit of a disaster.
