After pointing out the areas of concern to him, Ken offered a couple non-serious possibilities for the phenomenon, and was able to assure me there was no threat to either the structural integrity of the house or the cement slab foundation - and pretty much bottom-lined it, saying there's really nothing to worry about. I really appreciated Ken's easy-going demeanor, and sensed zero interest in him trying to sell me a repair service that wasn't needed. Ken is just an honest guy offering his experienced opinion - in no doubt, putting yet another homeowners' unwarranted concerns to rest. Would be nice If all companies sent inspectors who operated the same way as Ken.

On top of that, part of the project had to do with our insurance; we needed a contractor that would be willing to provide exactly what the insurance needed. We typed the proposal up, and Jeff filled in with what the insurance requested. We wanted to remove light fixtures in the living room and replace it with a pendant fixture, as well as recessed lights. The shades we bought ended up not being the perfect fit for the new fixture we wanted to use in the dining room, but Jeff and Chase were patient and knowledgeable to know how to "sand this, and cut that " and made the shades work and look beautiful! We are very pleased with their work and will definitely be using them again for all things home repairs. As a perfectionist, it's hard to find great contractors like them. Jon is a local general contractor since 2002 whose projects are almost entirely from word-of-mouth. I got to know him professionally during my friend's kitchen remodel; during which she couldn't be home for 6 weeks due to unexpected surgery, hospitalization and rehab. During this time I regularly observed Jon's dedication to complete her job to perfection to ensure she came home to her new kitchen. Sure there are contractors with expertise and experience but this one really cares that his clients are satisfied and he did everything and more to make my dream a reality. When a sub incorrectly installed my countertop on a Friday, Jon got back here in 30 minutes getting it corrected over the weekend and reinstalled on Monday. Bill is a true craftsman! I've had a wood gate that has needed rebuilding for the last 8 years…read more Pieces of the wood gate were rotting. Over the years, I've had other handymen pass on the project. I had a handyman who was able to fill the rotted areas with wood filler, sand it, and restain it. I've even had a gate company tell me that they could not save the gate; it would need to be completely replaced. Bill was able to cut out the rotted pieces of wood, replace them, and restain the whole gate (he also repainted the decorative hardware on the door as well). Moreover, he discussed the project with a buddy of his and they determined that the gate was sitting over a muddy part of landscaping which is probably what facilitated the deterioration of the wood. We found some leftover pavers in our storage shed and Bill extended the pavers so the gate would sit over pavers instead of mud. Before he embarked on the wood gate repair, Bill also installed a valance/shade over a window. He made the necessary calculations to ensure that the valance/shade would be centered on the wall and window. He also made sure that the valence was leveled. Bill is honest, meticulous and detail-oriented. If you want someone to treat your project and your home, like it's his own, I would give Bill a call.
