Owner Sean managed our project to resurface our pool, install new tile, coping, and the surrounding deck, including new Pentair control systems and pump last October. He and his team did a great job and the project turned out very well--we couldn't be happier with the result. He's not the cheapest around, but provides good value and I could always get him to address any problems arising within a day, if not the same day. Now, six months after completion, the pool has held up very well, and I would contract with South County again. read more

From another Happy Customer! Sean - your guys just finished a pool/spa replaster for us and we are very pleased with the results - we have been a pool service customer for 2 years and because of the quality of that service we chose your company to do the replaster - our project manager was Logan Tanner who was amazing from start to finish - he explained every thing that was going to happen and was here to oversee the work each day - over the years we have built a few houses and pools and know how difficult the project managers job is - this project was the smoothest of them all - his professionalism, communication, and patience were everything we hoped - you should be proud to have him as an employee also we were extremely pleased with Joaquin Alcantara who did all the tile work to perfection - he is a master craftsman - and each evening he cleaned the worksite so well you would never know work was going on - we just wanted you to know how pleased we are - thank you - Jim & Lorraine Wharrie read more

Very disappointed with our Spa Remodel by South County Pools. There were multiple issues. Water level tile was not installed straight on one side of the spa, there is a very noticeable swag in the tile. The company was told about it, the tile person was going to take a look but never came, and, didn't hear another word. Rather than fix a skimmer housing correctly before plaster it was left as is, they just patched with new plaster that extends above the pool water line which shouldn't be done. The company provided a skimmer plate for me to repair that did not fit. Paid $600 for "Start up water chemistry". One would think that over the 28 day start up period the chemistry would be right, it wasn't. Salt level too low so on the last day of start up South County Pools added a bag of salt and advised us to add another bag of salt a week later which created very high salt concentration, I had to drain 7" of water from the spa and refill. PH level was not right after 2 weeks, they said they added acid, it still wasn't right after 28 days. In short paid $600 to remove leaves from the spa. Very surprising that when the project was complete there was never a "thanks for the business". If you use this company stay on top of the work quality and have a clear understanding up front on what and how the job will be completed. read more

Sean and South County Pools made our vision of putting a pool in the front yard of our mid-century modern house come true!! We were after a very specific design and Sean worked with us (and the city) to make sure everything was exactly what we wanted. I can't say enough good things about these guys, but the best compliment to give is a referral. Sean and South County Pools are making dreams come true, one pool at a time! read more

I have had South County Pools taking care of my pool for the last couple pf years and was pleased up until recently when the regular service guy put something on the stone walls of the pool to take care of some mold that was growing on the stone part of the pool. Shortly there after the stone turned white. I called many times and they kept saying they were taking care of it and just give it time. It has been over 3 months now and I finally was able to get the owner Shawn out to look at it and he said they would take care of it. They put some more products on it and the next day the stone that was affected never cleaned up and stone that did not have any problems before they applied the liquid has now turned the same color as the damaged stone. This morning the service man was here and when asked how they were going to fix this, he started laughing and said he wasn't going to be doing anything. He said he didn't cause the problem and started laughing even more. Extremely unprofessional. I told him it wasn't acceptable and we needed to get it resolved. He just kept laughing and completely ignored me until I told him to get off my property and never come back. I have made phone calls into the office to talk to Shawn and nobody ever answers the phones there. This has been an ongoing problem with these guys. They have horrible customer service. They never answer the phones and it can take a couple of days to hear back from them. Shawn the owner does not want to take responsibility for his works and the quality of work that they do. He could care less. Don't ever use these guys unless you want to always be chasing them. I am looking into legal actions against these guys for what they have done to my pool. If that is any indication of how hard it has been to get them to resolve my issues people should run from them. read more

We get consistently great service from Dillon who services our pool every week. We also want to recognize the outstanding service we got recently from Rebecca and Logan. During the torrential rains we experienced recently our pool was ready to overflow. We called South County Pool and explained our dilemma to Rebecca. She contacted Logan and Within an hour he came to the rescue. Logan was able to sump pump 5 inches of water out of our pool to handle the rest of the rain and keep our pool from overflowing. Well done Dillon, Rebecca and Logan! read more

I've been using south county pools for approximately 3 years now. It's due time I shared my experience with the company as a whole. South county pools does my weekly maintenance and has helped with (3) repairs since moving into my house. To begin, dont waste your time with another pool service and youre looking for the right company for a major repair all the way down to weekly service THIS IS ABSOLUTELY THE BEST PICK. I believe that giving a really good review should be taken seriously as now a days we find the right person for a job through either word of mouth or through companies with great reviews. I found this company through both . Scott has come out to my home on more than one occasion to fix a major issue and the customer service and responsiveness has been literally top tier. My pool is literally always in perfect condition and its removed what was previously one of my bigger stressors of owning this home because now I simply dont have to worry about it. The pool technician (Ryan d.) who is responsible for my house is also incredible. on multiple occasions I've had questions and simply walked out and talked to him and had either instant solution or perfect recommendation. I couldn't be happier with the service I get from south county pools. if youre looking for a pool service of any kind ti recommend them 100%. I recommend them to everyone I know that has a pool. 10/10!!!!!!!! read more

Love this pool service! Wish we changed to them years ago. They are reliable, knowledgeable, pleasant and friendly to deal with. We were unhappy with our prior pool company for such a long time and feel,so good to be working with this company now. Our pool guy Logan always has a smile and is easy to communicate with. The office is great with follow up and billing. They don't bill us for things we didn't approve and they do a really good job. I would highly recommend this pool service. read more

South County Pools resurfaced our pool with Pebbletec. Logan gave us a decent quote and was on site most of the time the work was being done. Old plaster was removed and clean up was thorough. Logan came several days to balance the chemicals, clean the pool and the filter. Very responsive and professional. Pool looks great...Highly recommend this company read more

Best service we've had from a contractor, Sean was very helpful with choices, he was patient and provided much great feedback. Awesome job and an amazing person. Highly recommend Jason. He is honest knowledgable and all and all a great guy.

My current pool service company, Poolwerx, has become very inconsistent with their service and doesn't return calls. After looking up possible new companies on Yelp, found South County and left them a voice mail on the weekend. Not thinking I'd get a call back until Monday, was surprised to receive a Sunday call back and a Monday appointment. I have just started with them but so far they have been, responsive, prompt, communicative and competitive for service and repairs. If this lasts I'll move them to 5 stars. read more

Today I had Scott come out to troubleshoot a timer/ power problem with my jacuzzi. He found the problem very quickly and rectified it. It was a simple problem left over from an SCE power issue that humbled my troubleshooting skills....he said don't worry about it, it happens. He did the work and didn't charge me because it didn't take but a few minutes. This is why I do business with local companies, they are good neighbors and help out because it's the right thing....not just how much money they can get. I want to say thanks to Scott for helping out. I would recommend his company to anyone. As a matter of fact I called them because they were recommended by my neighbor because of good service. read more

Best pool builder, ever! Sean and crew just finished my very tricky hillside, complex, small yard difficult build in Dana Point. It looks amazing!!!Throughout the process he was amazing, patient, and dealt with all the city requirements, which were many. 5ft lot lines, no problem! I think I may have the first pool in DP needing to have the equipment in the garage, in a small space. Sean patiently worked through every detail and engineering challenge with the city. Sean actually did all my landscaping as well. Beautiful stonework gates and wall. I am pretty detailed and he met every request I threw at him. I have built a pool before, but what Sean built was on a whole other level of quality and beauty. My co worker was also building a pool and her contractor didn't suggest any of the great features and ideas that Sean had. In fact after comparing notes with me she went back and had her builder up his game. If you want a wonderful pool build experience and an exceptional outcome, do yourself a favor and contact Sean. read more

Excellent, prompt, courteous service! Scott came to our house to remove an expired pump and install a new Pentair unit. He answered all my questions and took the time to make sure I understood all the features and operation of the pump as well as setting it up to meet our needs. I also reviewed some future upgrades we would like to have on the pool itself. Scott again answered all our questions. I highly recommend South County Pools for all your pool and spa needs. It is refreshing to see premier customer service is alive and well! read more

We selected South County Pools as the pool builder for our new pool and we couldn't be more happy we did. Sean has been excellent to work with. He is on the job site daily ensuring high quality work is being done in a timely fashion. He has provided great communication and personalized service every step in the process. Not only was his price for a new pool the most competitive, he also was able to complete the pool build the fastest out of everyone we met with. We have neighbors that have gone with larger companies and now regret they didn't go with South County Pools based on our experience. Also worth mentioning, we have a small backyard and were able to really maximize the space with a nice size pool and spa, covered patio with fireplace and leftover space for storage. Sean had a great vision and seeing it come alive is really fun. If you are building a pool and want someone with integrity and commitment, I would HIGHLY recommend Sean. Our project is almost finished. We will post before and after photos on my next review. A BIG thank you to the entire crew at South County Pools! read more

Sean and his team did an awesome fix job of our weeping wall for our pool. The builder we had previously did a poor engineering job and the wall had slumped. Sean and his team rectified the problem and explained why it happened and how it was corrected so it won't happen again. His team was on time and performed the job ahead of schedule. Sean was very good about letting me know what was going on every step of the way. If you're looking for an honest, competent and communicative pool builder Sean and South County Pools are it. Simply the best! read more

South County Pools for pool service I find to be subpar. After over 10 years of maintaining a pool I have never had a company charge me so much and make so many mistakes. The techs have little to no knowledge on the actual pool equipment itself. Several times I would find my spa empty with water and pebble tech exposed due to tech leaving the valves wrong. One evening I was taking my trash out and I heard water running. The tech had left a faucet running at pool equipment and water was running like crazy at a high GPM. The frequency of the mistakes being made and the cost of service was unbearable. read more

Back in November 2016 our realtor contacted South County Pools to evaluate the pool, spa and equipment for the house we were planning to purchase. I met with Sean, he went over the whole pool area, and all the equipment, (this is my first house with a pool so I had no idea) gave me a detailed report on everything he found. He put up with all of my noob questions with a smile, and answered all the detailed questions I had on how all the plumbing worked. By the time we moved in the pool as looking a little green (the previous owners canceled there service real early) so I called Sean, he sent someone over to sort the pool, within a week it looked great again, and have been using his pool service ever since. My wife wanted me to add that we have a baby girl, and she feels very comfortable with Sean and any of his team wondering back into the garden to perform the pool maintenance. I highly recommended South County Pools! read more

Just outstanding, after several other pool service companies let us down terribly. So glad to have made the change. Mark serviced the pool for the last year or so and cared. It showed. Had a challenge this week on the Pentair equipment and Scott was able to attend and resolve issues / elevate them to Pentair with immediate follow through from the Pentair representative this AM. I hope you consider using this company if you are reading. They are the best we have had. Because they care. read more

Sean replaced nearly an entire pool mechanical system for me. New concrete pad, pump, filter, valves and new plumbing for my dated pool. He worked with me on installing equipment I purchased from a wholesaler. Not every firm is willing to do this as it takes away from their profit margin and that say a lot about Sean's business ethos. Sean and his crew showed up on time, and were and friendly. Sean's prices are fair. Sean shows responsibility to insure his crew and subs keep the job site clean and the project is on track. Sean kept me up to date on all the procedures and project timeline. When the project was complete, Sean made sure all the equipment was programed, functioned properly and walked me through it's operation. Two weeks later, everything is working great. I can highly recommend South County Pools to install pool equipment. When it's time to upgrade my heater or convert to a salt system they will be the first call I make. read more

South County Pools - New equipment install - Pool Cleaners Near Me - Dana Point, California

Reached out to South County Pools to ask if they would check out a pool at a house we are in the process of purchasing. Wanted a quick look over of the equipment and general condition of the pool itself. Got in touch with Scott who just so happened to be close by there and said he'd drop by right then. Within 20min, he called me back and gave me his assessment and sent a pic of what he noticed. Could not be more satisfied with that process. Thanks Scott and South County Pools! read more

Sean and I had been in contact over the course of several weeks while he tried to help me troubleshoot an issue I was having with my above-ground hot tub. They do a great job cleaning the filter and managing the pools chlorine and ph balance . If you want a good quality pool man call them!!! read more

My spa was draining down to the pool level every night. I new what my problem was, a bad check valve. I replaced the old guts of the Ortega valve but I still had a leak. So, after a few tries of fixing on my own, I called South County Pools. Scott came out to take a look. We discussed what and where the problem was. He sensed I was a DIY kind of person and gave me a solution to my problem. I made the fix myself saving a few bucks and the leak has stopped. Thank you Scott for your time and expertise with my problem. I will definitely call on your services if needed in the future! read more
