I am absolutely jaded when it comes to pool services in So. OC. I maintain my own pool because the bulk of the local pool services suck. If they sucked any harder they would create a black hole and drag all of humanity into oblivion. But from time to time even I need help when facing issues beyond my experience. We have used Poolfessionals twice. My first experience was in 2018 when we needed to replace an old heater for an in-ground spa. As an experienced DIY, I looked into purchasing the heater online and installing myself. We had Michael visit to give us an estimate, and his quote wasn't much greater than our DIY cost. We were very glad that we had Poolfessionals replace our heater. It was a much, much better installation. We contacted Poolfessionals again in 2024 to replace an aging control panel. I called Mike from a recommendation to have a leaky pool valve repaired/replaced. He came over the very next day and I approved the work and requested a quote to have all of the above ground plumbing replaced. It took over a month to get the requested quote and to have the work scheduled, then rescheduled and ultimately completed. He runs a busy business and is not as responsive as I had anticipated but... he does outstanding work at a fair price and takes pride in his work. Mike also takes the time to explain everything and provides helpful suggestions. I have provided several before/after photos. I really liked Mike when he cane and installed my heater last year September 2019. He was professional, on time and great with his work. If I had to put a review for him in September it would probably be 5 stars but last month for some reason the heater stopped working. So, I called him as the heater was under warranty from his workmanship and manufacturer. He wasn't the same on the phone. He was rude and seemed like didn't want to come to service. I still waited for a week as he stated so he can fit this into his extremely busy schedule. Finally I gave up and called manufacturers who were able to get another company to service the heater the next day and they fixed the issue in 10minutes. So, if you are looking for someone to come install your pool equipment at an amazing price then Mike is your guy but I wouldn't depend on him for any kind of servicing after! It was a bit disappointing to have all these warranties but no one to honor them. read more

This is one of the most professional companies, of any type, that I have ever encountered! And, the nicest group of guys you could ask for! Mike, the owner, is always reachable and happy to help. He is very experienced and in a minute diagnosed that my pool pump was infested with rats...which numerous pool companies and exterminators could not diagnose for over 4 years! He opened the unit and showed me. Before I knew it, he had pros out here suited up in Hazmat to sanitize and rat-proof (seal shut the openings with screens) the unit...done, problem gone! He even noticed my vinyl gate to the back yard was askew and adjusted it for me for free - after I unsuccessfully requested the manufacturer honor their life-time warranty to fix this! My pool filters were cleaned to pure white and I was able to watch the process. Every week, my pool is sparkly clean and pics with a full chemical report are sent to me immediately after their visit. Nick was my technician initially (rightfully promoted within the company) and he left me a hand-written Thank You card at x-mas...talk about classy! Nick trained Tyler, who is now my technician and is friendly, thoughtful, and thorough. Really, I could not ask for more...and, I am a very picky person! I really wanted to like this company, and at first I did. I called around and chose them for a new variable speed pool pump, and also bought a new wireless control system. Set me back a little, but I like it. Scheduling got moved but all in all the experience was good. I noticed shortly after I started using the wireless system, that 2 of the controls were switched. Not a big deal because I told them I would be looking into getting a couple things fixed as well as filter cleaning and a new pool cleaning system. Figured it would be an easy fix and do everything at once. I have called them three times with no call back as well as an email with no response. I referred both my neighbors who have pools to them, but will make sure I tell them of this experience. Customer service and follow up has been nothing short of disappointing.
