We are in our second season at SC after switching from another gym & we absolutely love SC! I've never had issues with responses from the office or coaches. I usually get a response within a couple hours which I appreciate. My girls have so much more confidence and receive a lot of encouragement and feedback from teammates and coaches. Great gym! Edited to add: In regards to a complaint about prices for classes not being listed: when you add a class to your cart and go to checkout, the price for that class is clearly listed and even automatically pro-rated depending on when you enroll. My daughter went back to All Star cheer after doing two years of high school cheer and prior to that two years at another All Star gym. So this will be our first year at SC. The communication has been awesome from the director to administration to the coaches. Emails are responded within the same day. I love the video updates of the team. All I can say is WOW! My daughter has been involved in the All-Star cheer world for almost four years, and this season we decided to join a new gym to take her cheer experience to the next level. I am beyond impressed. One of the things I love most is the organization and transparency. I can log into the app anytime to make a payment and easily see where every cost is allocated. Everything is clearly outlined and broken down in writing, making it simple to understand. On multiple occasions, I've sent several emails in one day, and every one of them was answered promptly. Yes, this gym has high expectations, but that's because the athletes are dedicated and committed. The girls are expected to arrive at practice in uniform, prepared, and looking their best. They're also encouraged to stay on top of their stretching and flexibility at home.. That level of discipline and accountability is a big part of why they are so successful. We've only been with this gym for about 2 1/2 months, and I am incredibly impressed with everything so far. We have taken tumbling classes at south coast and the classes are evenly balanced. Not too full so you feel like your athletes gets just enough attention when working on new skills. My daughter tried out this year didn't make the team she wanted so I have sent 4 emails 2 voice mails and an instagram msg ASKING for prices on 2 of their classes.. no response from my emails no call back and they posted on their instagram story but did not reply to my msg to them. I'm only asking for a price on classes before I enroll because when we tried out, I was told enroll in a private for the try out. Total came to 0.00. 24 hours late I had a 150$ charge on my card! NO WHERE on their site or the app they use for classes does they give a listing of prices. read more

SC is the BEST!! My daughter came from a local team in our area and the amount of confidence she gained and how I've seen her skills insanely progress in her first year blew my mind! I love South Coast. We have switched gyms 3 times over the 18 years that my daughter has been cheering. We came to South Coast because they are making a name for themselves in the world of cheer. Just look at their Worlds team FEARLESS. Miss Twist is another impressive team they have. These girls are so amazing. That's thanks to the coaches, the talented athletes, the program and rules they have. The rules are there to ensure your child is successful on these teams. I loved our other gym but they were very lenient on absences and missed practices. That cost the girls a lot. They would not win first and of course, the girls cried a lot. They knew they were good, But..... Maybe not missing practice would have given them the edge they needed to win. At South Coast be prepared for not missing any practices or it will cost you. And...... These teams win first a lot. As a parent, you want to instill good work ethics and good sportsmanship all around. This gym and cheerleading in general, will teach all that to your child and South Coast is a great place to start your child. Be prepared, they can be strict, but they are very fair. They just want to see your child succeed at the gym, at the sport of Cheerleading and at life. I highly recommend this sport and this gym to any and all individuals that are interested in trying it out. We drive 2 1/2 hours to each and every practice. This gym is that good and we highly value it. That's why we make that drive. Give them a try. A real wholehearted try. South Coast Cheer - Disappointing Experience We had a very disappointing experience with South Coast Cheer. Our daughter started training there, but she did not like the environment and decided to leave shortly after starting. Before leaving, we paid over $700 for a concert costume, uniform, and shoes. After we left the program, these items were not given back to us, even though they were fully paid for. This felt unfair and unacceptable. In addition, the administrator was rude and unprofessional during communication, which made the situation even more stressful instead of trying to resolve it respectfully. On top of that, we were required to pay an additional $500 penalty just for terminating the contract early. Overall, the experience was very negative, both financially and emotionally. Before enrolling your child in this school, think very carefully, read the contract closely, and be prepared for high costs and strict policies. read more

Our daughter joined South Coast Cheer this year. This is the third local gym she has joined and we are so impressed with SCC. We have done group tumbling classes, private lessons, and my daughter was selected for an all star team. The coaches at SCC are wonderful. They have the right balance of pushing my daughter to grow her skills while also being supportive. I've never experienced such poor communication from an organization as I have with SC Cheer. Every time we turn around, there's a new rule or something else we're expected to purchase - it's frustrating and feels like we're constantly being taken advantage of. What's worse is the unprofessionalism. Questions don't get answered, and the front desk staff is disorganized and rude. It's a shame because we signed up with excitement, but this experience has been nothing short of stressful and disappointing.
