Our oldest daughter has been coming to Freckled Frog for 3 years now. We are just finishing up our first season of competition team, and the growth we've witnessed has been amazing. The teachers here are patient, helpful, and never condescending. I've never felt like my daughter is being left behind or left out, if she can't do something yet, they help her with it until she gets it. This is the perfect studio for parents who want their child to do something extra without the real pressure of "professional" dance. They are learning all the correct moves while not feeling like it's the end of the world if they mess up, because they are supported by the other dancers and their teachers. I also prefer the schedule here compared to other studios because they have 3 locations and a wide variety of classes to take and times to take them. This dance studio is perfect for my preschool age daughters (but they also offer dance classes for older and more advanced students). They offer a large variety of classes for this age group. We chose Ballet/Jazz and we love the teachers Daisy & Caitlin! They are the sweetest ladies and the class size is small so with 2 teachers my girls get tons of attention. Our class is 45 minutes and is jam packed with both technique and tubs of fun! Best of all they have a recital they can participate in and perform on a real stage! There are multiple locations! We attend the Tustin location which is at The District by the AMC theaters with plenty of free parking. They offer a free trial class for new customers and a sibling discount! When you first register you will pay a one time $15 registration fee. Tuition is typically $50 a month and must be paid by the first week of the month. They have a super easy to use student portal website or you can do autopay. Regarding the sibling discount, for us it is $15 off the second child's class. So the first class is $55 and the second is $40 making it $95 for two kids. Totally worth it for the amount of fun my daughters have! You can enroll any time you don't have to wait until the end of a semester. We all LOVE Freckled Frog and highly recommend it! read more

This location is at the District so plenty of parking and it's a bit secluded from the majority of other businesses so that's nice. Not so much related to the school/business, but the culture of being a parent of a dance student can be toxic. Other parents who are more invested in the activity do act snobby unless you yourself are invested. My daughter was only in this casually attending once a week so we felt secluded at the upper class. read more

We love FF! Our girls are finally getting into the routine of ballet and tap! The instructors are so patient with the kids. At the end of class, the girls put on their street shoes and love to dance Disney songs with the ribbon rings that the studio provides. They also let you borrow tap and ballet shoes in case your little girl isn't sure about the class! read more

My 3 year old took dance classes here from summer 2019 to last month ending with her class recital, so I have a lot of experience here and can write with confidence to assist other mothers in deciding whether to try it out: Pros: --Studio is large, clean and has plenty of room for parents to watch. --Classes are very reasonably priced and it is easy to set up an auto-pay online. --If you are thinking about doing a birthday party here with Carol the party planner, ABSOLUTELY do it! She was amazing and her two grand daughters did a fantastic job as Disney princesses. Total professionals! Cons: --Rarely parking available --Class always starts late but ends on time, of course. --You're typically paying for 25 minutes of class, not 45 minutes. First 10 minutes is late, 5 minutes for interruptions by late new students who's parents take time DURING class to ask the teacher questions, which makes the class stop and the kids lose interest, running to their parents and not wanting to participate when class resumes, and 5 minutes at end of class is free-time where they run around in their regular shoes to Frozen or Moana songs and the teachers just check out. --Recital clothes are rented, not purchased. --Recital dance was not taught very well to the kids. Teachers themselves couldn't remember the dance and had to stop and start over multiple times. This confused the children. I hope this helps other parents. I do love the birthday parties and think they do a fantastic job with those. I hope for everyone's sake (other parents in our class complained about the tardiness and disruptions) some issues are fixed to make for a more pleasant experience for all. read more

My daughter loves it here! She's taking classes in the Tustin district with Ms. Nichole and she just loves going. I wasn't sure how she would do at first and she is all over the place but they allow you as the parent to sit and dance with your child which is great! Our first class was free and they had ballet and tap shoes you can borrow. After taking the first class we decided to register for weekly classes. :-) There is a $15 registration fee and it's $50 a month. We can't wait to see what she learns and seeing her dance in little tutus is just the cutest! :-) read more

If you're looking for a fun dance studio without a year long waitlist that doesn't pressure you into recitals...this is the place! I had looked into so many dance studios for my daughter and they all had ridiculous waitlists. Freckled Frog had a waitlist too but Stacy contacted me within 2-3 days and said she had space for my daughter. They have big baskets full of used shoes so that you don't have to spend money on purchasing them if it turns out your child isn't interested. I recommend doing this. After the second week I bought shoes, leotards, and tutus, then my daughter tells me she doesn't want to go back because she would rather relax at home. Jessica was a fantastic instructor. She was friendly, patient, and not too serious. There were a couple girls that didn't pay attention and their moms (and sometimes dad) would hover over them on the dance floor for the entire class. It was distracting to the other kids and also the parents but I think Jessica did the best she could to keep the class going. The studio is bright and very clean. Parking is a breeze. It's located next to the movie theatre inside the district if you have a hard time finding it on google maps like I did. read more

My daughters first time and i was very upset about the costumer service i got. The teacher at no time was really engaging with the students and didnt even try to help my daughter with it being the first time. At the start my daughter was shy and at no point did she even try to make my daughter feel welcomed at all. Once class was over she didnt even approach me to ask what i thought of the class and if i was still intrested in enrolling my daughter to the class. I have both of my daughters in this dance school and I couldn't love it more! They have the best time being apart of this dance school and they can't wait to go each week. They do two recitals a year and the costumes they make themselves are five star quality which is great for us parents and the kids can't get enough of it! We love Freckled Frog. Our daughter who is 3 1/2 has starred in three shows already. It has been such a good place for her to socialize. We feel the interaction with the teachers and other students her age is valuable especially in preparing her for school. The productions are professional and well choreographed. This review is for the toddler class that starts at age 2. I specifically checked out 4 dance studios and took my two-year-old to do trials to see which studio would be the best fit before committing to one. PROS: Since the dance studio is located at the Tustin District there's plenty of parking. The dance studio is large, very clean, bright and open and provides chairs for parents to sit and watch. It has by far the nicest studio out of all the dance studios we tried because it's new. They have a pretty flexible schedule with a wide range of times and dates available. CONS: The reason this dance studio cost less than others for monthly tuition is pretty evident in their teachers. Their teachers for the most part are not engaging nor do they interact with toddlers to really explain the steps. None of the teachers actually introduced themselves either or seemed that friendly. The teachers just stand at the front of the room and expect two-year-olds to be able to follow. The format is cumbersome because the structure is ballet shoes then switch to tap shoes and then back to ballet shoes. There is no dedicated person who answers the phone so you may not get a response and even via email response is not that timely. I think for toddler's unless you have one that can follow and listen very well this toddler class is not for you. I think the class works better if your child is closer to three or is three and can follow instructions independently and listen. I prefer the other dance studios who make learning dance fun with different props and explain how to get toddlers to move in a certain way so it's a nice blend of being structured enough that the teachers can correct but also give flexibility since they are toddlers and may not follow perfectly. read more

My 3 year old daughter has been attending freckled frog ballet/tap classes since May and we love it! We checked out other places before this and did not like the fact that she had to go into another room without me and they were quite strict with the lessons. At freckled frog we are all in one big colorful room and she's allowed to come to me if she needs something and they are not strict at all! In fact it's so fun that she loves going and is upset if we can't make it one week. She practices what she's learning at home and the many fun/cute activities are enjoyable for her and good videos to share with my family. Also, the price is very reasonable.
