We registered at this dance studio through the city program and I was worried before coming since there are a lot of negative reviews. However, I really don't think this place is too bad. Yes I agree with some parents that the place is a little outdated and need some upgrades, but the classrooms are sufficient for the kids to take classes. They also have ballet and tap shoes for kids to borrow and little corner of selling cute tu tu and other dancing necessities. The first time when my kid took the class was quite full, but the week after the teacher told us they have added another class earlier that day in order to keep the class a little more manageable for them and the kids. I would say they have about 12 kids in the 3-5 age group class now and three teachers to help. Plus side is not too many dance studios offer weekend classes. To full time working parents is hard to take their kids to classes during work weeks, so I appreciate their schedules on the weekends for the working parents. read more

Little Princess Ballet School! I was using Anaheim's Easy Reconnect web page and found the City used this school for one of its courses. I enrolled directly through the school, not the City of Anaheim, as it was cheaper and they give a free leotard. The cost was about $40 or $50 for five 30 minute classes. The little one really enjoyed the class and attended every session. The instructors were really nice. The instructors also were patient and knew the topic. They were very effective at getting the kids to interact and look forward to the next session. In enrolled my 4.5 year old in the Little Princess class. There is no final performance. The classes just roll over to the next session. The last day of class, my princess said she wanted to take swimming instead. The negative parts include that the building and class rooms are old and need to be updated. A great deal of time is spent on the floor and the linoleum flooring is super old and looks dirty. Also, not much room to watch in comfort. It is crowded with parent looking through the windows. Lastly, a few days were super hot and there was no air conditioning on. I am not sure if that is normal or not. You should ask if you are taking courses in the summer. Overall, a good experience with minimal costs and great for little girls. I signed my daughter up through the city of orange. Let me just say I'm happy it's only 4 weeks and we only have one week left. 1. This place is very small and dirty. 2. The "tumbling" is a joke. A few summersaults going down a slide my child is far to big for and 5 jumps on a trampoline. 3. My daughter missed a day. We did a make up class. (With the owner) at the end of class the kids always get stickers. All the kids had sticker books (made of construction paper mind you). My daughter did not have one and was told she could not have one because "she wasn't in that class". I have never been so angry. She is FOUR. Who tells a four year old that. Needless to say after our last class we will not be returning or signing up!! On to the next dance studio. read more

I signed my daughter up for the parent and me class through the City of Anaheim. The class was from 9:15-9:45. Here are my issues: 1) The class was over by 9:40 each time. 2) Class was supposed to be for kids ages 2-4. My 3 year old daughter was the oldest by a lot. Most of the kids were in the 18 month range. 3) "Tumbling" portion was to climb on a little tykes slide, do a forward roll, crawl through a tunnel and jump on a trampoline 5 times. Each kid got to do it 2 or 3 times. 4) The class is super crowded. Picture around 7 girls and 7 parents in a little dance room, PLUS grandparents and dads (or moms) watching either from the watching area or crowded into the room trying to take pictures. I get it- I invite my parents to everything to watch my kids, so I can totally overlook this and it really wasn't a problem, but just add it to the other issues. The plus was the tap shoe rental. They had 3 bins of tap shoes organized by size and labeled well, so it was really easy to find the correct size in a hurry. read more

Granted we were just there for mommy and me classes, but several of my concerns were with the facility and staff over the class itself. So they extend to anyone going there for any class. The place looks and feels dirty and rundown, Marie is the rudest....person.... that we (both my wife and I) have ever had the misfortune of interacting with. Not to mention the other staff was none too friendly either. The teachers were not good at matching the pace of the class to the students, we were in a class with 2-4 year olds and they never slowed down even when all the kids were clearly overwhelmed, they just railroaded on. Half the time barely paying attention to the class and just checking themselves out in the mirror. (Yeah, we noticed the teacher doing that on several occasions.) The music on their amazing sound system (boombox) was turned up waaaay to loud every class, to attempt to cover up the music from the concurrent class, unsuccessfully I might add. I noticed outright dangerous things too, loose handrails and exposed live wires just to name a couple. We will be taking my kids to a quality dance studio, there's more than enough other places available. read more

Unfortunately I had to give them a star ! This place is so horrible!! My daughter goes here for tap and ballet she been going for close to a year . However I took her out due to changing her to another dance academy when I try to cancel I emailed them 2 weeks before my payment gets taken out they still took out the payment and when I try to talk to them I got no respond when I finally got a response she say that they have no records my email of cancellation !! They aren't working with me with this issue being really complicated!! So I pretty much paid for nothing !!! And to top it off their dance suck !! The dance recital is over price and all the dance class do the same moves !! Hopefully NO one has this issue ! Save yourself and go somewhere else !! read more

I signed up my 3 year old for dance classes through my city. The price was fair and the classes where great. My little one enjoyed it very much. The space seemed very tight for the students and parents who waited for their kids in the waiting areas. The teacher who my daughter was assigned to was just great! read more

I enrolled my 4 year old in the pre-ballet 40 minute class. We had a great instructor in the beginning and were lucky enough to be the only ones enrolled in the class, this was great one on one lesson time. We were satisfied. Unfortunately, this instructor stopped teaching and on our last visit, the new instructor only taught for 30 minutes. When I inquired why she stated that, if there was only one pupil in the class, the teacher had the option to shorten the class to 20 or 30 minutes. She stated this was the studios policy. I expressed my dissatisfaction with this choice and explained that the advertisement was for a 40 minute class and I expected a 40 minute class. I only received a " well, we're sorry that you're unhappy" , but you can pay for a private lesson if you'd like..... Because the studio was so lacking in customer satisfaction and appreciation I pulled my child from the school and asked for a refund for my tuition. read more

My 2 yr old (turning 3 this month) showed she had interest in ballet classes. I was looking around nothing seemed to catch my attention until I stumbled into Marie's Dance Studio website. Specially the offer they had of one free class trial, so your child can try it out and see if you did want to enroll them (and not just have to commit to a full month first). I emailed them and they were quick to respond and scheduled her that same week. We came checked in the receptionist is super friendly and was great with answering all the questions we had. They have used tap and ballet shoes in case you don't have any you can borrow. You just have to search through the bins to look for your child's size. My daughter loved the class and as soon as it was over she was enrolled! Was able to redeem my yelp offer for her first month and if you sign up where they take out the monthly payments from your bank they give you a $5 discount. Michelle her teacher is awesome very nice and patient. Worth the drive from Costa Mesa. Also where you check in they have leotard and ballet skirts that they make there at a good price they also have a small discount rack!! read more

So I'm writing this review because I feel it's important for people to understand that this place is sketchy! I had both of my girls signed up and taking classes for over a year, they were in two shows which you have to pay for your kids to be in and then I also paid for my daughters to get there Christmas pictures done and never received them. After many months almost a year now and I still can't get them. I have called and text numerous of times and was either lied to that they would send them to my house and never did and then just completely stopped Answering my calls and text messages. They got hundreds of dollars out of me for monthly class sessions, recital tickets, outfits , extra skirts and leotard that I would buy off of them and I can't even get the pictures I paid 100 bucks each for. Smh ! I would not recommend this place. Very unprofessional and scandalous when it comes to a lot of things! Save your money and go somewhere else! read more

My daughter did the 4 week Parent and Me Class and the teacher and staff were all very nice, however, the facility itself is hard to find, old and the dance room is very very small and cramped. My daughter is shy and a little clastrophobic so the small room full of tons of people wasnt the ideal situation for her. There is a small viewing area as well which was nice read more

Boring dance studio; they don't separate the beginner from advanced and always rushing because they don't keep track of time.

My 3 year old daughter absolutely loves her dance class. She actually cries on weekends they are closed. Lots of good things to say. If I had to say something critical, it would be the condition of their facility. read more

I am very pleased with the current level of dance instruction my child is currently receiving. As a student for the last 3 1/2 years and she has enjoyed very minute. At times she has had up to 4 classes a week and I found the times and price reasonable. She has taken Hip hop, Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Lyrical and has just started Pre-point Ballet. The owner is very hands on, approachable and has been nothing but a positive influence in my child's personal experience and dance education. The additional instructors have great resumes in the specific area of dance which they teach. The studio has 3 rooms, offers two recitals a year and competitive opportunities. read more

We love the instructors, they help slowly challenge the little dancers each week and the class sizes are great so that every child gets an equally great experience. I was happy to sign up my 3 year old daughter for dancing classes via Tustin Rec. I saw the reviews and still decided to go anyways. The greeter/receptionist was nice and everything was going well...until my daughter slipped in class and the students were telling the teacher and she kept going. I understand you have to keep going for the class but don't leave your student on the floor. My daughter eventually got up after a minute...and started the routine. It was all new to us so she had to jump in since everyone else knew what they were doing. It does get pretty busy but they do offer a lot of different classes. My daughter had fun but I was a little disappointed. We only have 3 more weeks so luckily we can go somewhere else next month, unless my experience this week is better. read more

I had been searching for a new school after pulling my daughter out of a terrible, overpriced, "Franchised" well known Dance School. We immediately both fell in love with this place! I had read all the reviews and found out for myself that the bad reviews were bogus or must have been written by a bunch of OC DIVAS. My daughter has the pleasure of learning from Miss Gloria. She is not only able to keep the children's focus but she finds a way assist all the children with their technique, something we did not experience at the last dance school. She is patient seems quite experienced with young children. Marie the owner is also very friendly and professional. The prices are very reasonable and they are flexible when it comes to missed and make up classes. There are also shoes that the school provides for children to borrow at no additional charge, which is great considering I paid $40 previously for dance shoes. My daughter can't wait to come to class every week. I thank all the staff at Marie's Dance Studio for so warmly welcoming my high spirited child and myself. I only wish I had found this place sooner. It's also nice to hear from other parents that they have been bringing their kids here for years. I have told everyone I know with young children about this place. read more

I take the parent and me class with my little girl. We love Miss Charlotte (dance teacher) and so far had nothing but positive experiences and lots of fun at the studio. I hope the other negative reviews do not deter you from at least trying this place out. In response to a few of the negative reviews.. the place is pretty clean, the equipment are all in good condition (I noticed that they actually bought a few new tumbling equipment), and the receptionist is always sweet. read more

Not very happy at all. My daughter came and as I walked in I regretted it! It is not at all spacious and it's a bit torn down and dirty. Miss Marie isn't at all the nicest teacher I've met. She never gets to try to know her students. It seems she only puts students who she thinks has potential upstairs. Everyone else is crammed downstairs in one tiny space. My niece used to go to the studio and was there for a while but she never really improved. They only teach the basics. As a matter of fact, it seems to me she brings in kids that are super advanced so that everyone thinks," my kids will look like that if they stay here!" Definitely a lot of negative energy... I definitely don't recommend going to this studio. I recommend you keep looking for another studio. Definitely disappointed. read more

My daughter has been coming here since she was about 8 years old, she is now 15 and a sophomore in high school and she loves coming here and enjoys spending time with the wonderful friends she has made here. The instructors are super nice and patient. Marie is the owner and a wonderful instructor too. I recommend this place especially if you want your child to have fun while learning without all the drama. Great dance studio. My 8 year old has been dancing at Marie's Dance Studio for 5 years. I just signed up my 3 year old a few weeks ago. She loves it. Dancing like her big sister. Miss Marie is really good with the kids and teaches them tap, ballet and tumbling. I couldnt believe how much dancing my 3 year old did and how much of the class she remembered. When we got home she was dancing all over the house. The next morning my daughter woke me up at 5am!! asking me if we were going to dance class today. I think its going to be a long week for her waiting for her next dance class. read more

Unfortunately, this studio is a huge disappointment. From the moment I walked in I was regretting my decision to sign my daughter up for lessons through our city's Parks and Rec department. This studio is very small, poorly maintained and fairly dirty. We had Miss Marie for a few weeks as my daughter's teacher but after that it seemed that there was always a different teacher. My biggest disappointment was that Miss Marie never interacted with the girls. She never talked to them to get to know their names or to have fun with them and get them excited about dance. I sent my daughter in after class to apologize to Miss Marie for her misbehavior during class, (my daughter is 3), and Miss Marie wouldn't even look at her. She just patted her on the shoulder and pushed her towards the door to leave. I would really urge anyone considering going to this studio not to waste their money and go somewhere where teacher will interact and have fun with their kids while teaching them how to dance. I am now at a studio in Irvine that is less expensive for more instruction time with a beautifully clean and large studio and wonderful staff. Do your research first. read more

I signed up my child for a hip hop class through the city of Orange progam to see if my child would like it. On the first day of class, the instructor was not there and they had to combine the new class with an on-going class. Class started 20 minutes late. This was not a good way to start. On the second class, we had the instructor assigned to the class (along with her assistant). They began working on a routine and continued the following week (week 3). Then on week 4 (the last class), the instructor was out again and they again combined the class with the same instructor that we had for class 1, so again, they did not work on their routine (and class started 15 minutes late, but at least they called to inform us of it this time). The children only had 2 classes out of 4 to work on their routine. And that wasn't enough time to make it stick. My child can't even show Dad the routine because it was not yet memorized after only 2 classes of practicing it. I understand that it is "only a class through he city", but these students should also get the proper attention. And had it gone well, I may have considered signing my child up for additional classes. I was also disappointed with the amount of interaction the instructors (weeks 2 and 3) had with the kids. I know they only have them for a few weeks, but I would have liked to have seen more interaction. I don't even think that the instructor ever introduced herself or her assistant (the week 2 and 3 instructor), or asked the kids their names. It was very impersonal. Anyways, all in all, my child did enjoy the classes & I guess that is what matters the most. My child is still very interested in dancing, so we will see what other options are out there. read more
