First time trying jazz funk and Mr. Hamilton Evan's class! Love his energy and teaching style. He broke down the choreo into small chunks that made it easier to work on and he reminded us the transition moves in between each set of moves. We got a lot of reps in before moving on to each new section of the choreo. There were also short breaks in between to practice on our own, but I couldn't remember all the choreo lol. Class wasn't too crowded and check in was easy. I arrived a bit late because of unforeseen traffic but I was still able to catch on really quickly. I was surprised that I got greeted by the front desk when I entered too. (Usually there's already a bunch of people waiting around to check in.) I signed up for a couple of hip hop classes to get myself prepped for an upcoming wedding event. The prices are Hella good and if you buy a certain amount of classes it gets cheaper and that's a plus nowadays. Our instructor Vincent is clear with directions and it's easy to catch on with the moves he's choreographing. Positive attitude and encouragement is always in effect and it made all the classes super fun and also challenging. The space is clean with a waiting area and a convenient filtered water station. I would definitely recommend if you're new to dancing or if you if you want to learn a new routine. There's three studios with multiple instructors teaching different styles. The staff is cool and they have a coffee stand pop up at times if you need a quick boost. Parking can be challenging so come early to your class. This OC studio has been established for about two decades. This is a bigger and better studio than the original, yet keeps the quality that version 1.0 had. Exterior: There's plenty of parking, however I would recommend getting there 15 minutes early to check-in and get a close spot. They have a small patio space outside for those waiting for check-in to their class. You will not have trouble finding the space (the sign is large enough to see from a distance). Interior: There's a lobby with tv for check-in status for classes (3 classes usually running in different studios); 3 bathrooms, 3 studios (A,B, and C) that can accommodate various groups of people. I've been here twice now! I wish I could come more, but it's a little far for me to make it during the week. Parking is plentiful, the staff and the teachers are always so nice and welcoming, and there are plenty of styles to choose from. It's a little cheaper for one class if you pay there in cash ($16). You also can download the videos they took during your class on their Google drive. They upload them pretty quickly. Can't wait for the next time I can make it over for class! read more

I'm so sorry, but I had a bad experience recently. Tonight, I took a dance class with Vincent Urban. I had felt like the music was too loud. I spoke with the choreographer about it to turn it down a bit, but he seemed to just give a careless attitude and kept the music at the same volume. I left as soon as I realized that and it genuinely ruined my night. I didn't even want to finish the class. Personally, the vibe felt negative. It felt weird to ask to lower the volume but it shouldn't be? It almost felt like he just didn't want to teach. I otherwise really enjoy the classes! I'm grateful for all the positive experiences I've had here with many of the dancers I've taken. Dancing here is one of my outlets. It has always been an opportunity for to express myself, discover myself, develop better confidence, feel stylish, and connect with a big community! It means a lot to me, especially because I'm 28, which I think is a lot older than most people that take classes here. read more

I went to a heels class last night and the instructor whit jones was incredibly rude to one of the girls in the class. On top of that the camera guy made a lot of us girls uncomfortable. It's an advanced class sure but we're all coming here to learn and enjoy ourselves. For some of us it's an escape from our day to day life. But safe to say I'm not taking another class with that instructor if that's the energy that's in the class. Blessings read more

Used to go to Playground in LA, but they allow the classes to get way too overcrowded. Classes in Offstage give you a lot of breathing room, the teachers are far better at explaining the moves, and the price is less expensive! After 8 years since I last took a dance class, I resumed training at Offstage in January 2025. I'm so grateful to the studio's founder, management team, and staff for operating the studio and offering such excellent and consistent classes for dancers to train. I primarily take beginners and intermediate hip-hop classes, and the instructors I have taken so far have been outstanding. Please keep in mind that each instructor teaches differently; thus, you may prefer or connect with one instructor's teaching style over another. But even with their different teaching styles, instructors exhibit a clear passion for dance, a love for teaching, and a care for students to grow and improve. All of them are at the top of their game. I have to give a special shout out to some instructors I take regularly who have contributed tremendously to my growth: Vincent Urban (I LOVE, LOVE his choreography), Ethan Estudian, Kenneth Espiritu, Halima, Derrique Daniels, and Jun Quemado. I'm naming them because I take them regularly and have really been committed to learning under them, but there are also countless other instructors whose classes I deeply enjoy taking. Whether it's weekly regular classes or pop ups, the offerings from Offstage is WILD. I also love that they have three different studios of varying sizes, allowing them to host three different classes of different variety nearly every hour between 6 pm and 10 pm throughout the week. One feedback that I would like to offer to the management team is to reduce the cap number for Studio C due to its small size. Sometimes, it can get too crammed with too many dancers, which does not allow ample room for students to move and hinders the learning experience. Overall, I love, LOVE Offstage. I cannot recommend this studio enough. Since January 2025, I have been consistently taking classes weekly. I plan to continue doing so. read more

Since GRV is such a well-known team, I was pretty nervous coming to Offstage for the first time. I came to Shayna's movement exploration class (bi-weekly on Mondays at 9PM) and while it was a bit nerve-wracking to attend by myself, I was super grateful for how welcoming and encouraging the other folks in the class were. Cost for normal, non-master classes: $12 (cash in person) $12.75 (prepaid online) Videos: FREE! They link the videos in their IG bio after class or you can scan the QR code at the front desk to download the videos from Google Drive. A big factor in my continuing to take a class is the people and the overall environment. I love that Shayna's class creates a safe space to experiment and grow in dance and is full of other people who are seeking to do the same. A friend of mine told me about this place when I mentioned wanting to take up hip hop classes. Aside from freestyling at the clubs, I've never had any formal instruction, so this is completely out of my comfort zone. I take classes on STEEZY and TMilly when I'm at home, and I also balance time at Millennium which is about 15 minutes away. My only ask is if the schedules could go out farther than a week since I drive over 30 miles. Planning my schedule can be a challenge, and I take back to back classes at this studio or one class here and at Millennium whenever I can. The instructors are awesome, and my goal is to hit intermediate one of these days. One of the best benefits is getting footage of your class. Fun stuff to learn the vocab and culture. The studio is located in the middle of a bungalow-warehouse area and parking is limited to certain spaces. They provide a parking map so best to get familiar with the open spots beforehand. There are cars crowded along the driveways. The studio room is pretty spacious though it looks a lot bigger on their Instagram (angles!). Not that stuffy inside thanks to an open door with a giant fan blowing into the room. Pretty clean as well. Refreshments are $1-2. Class prices are reasonable. Tip: If you're coming from up north on a weekday, expect heavy traffic! read more

OVERALL : I've been to this studio for 2 whole months and they still never disappoint. Offstage Dance Studio is one of the most organized dance studios with amazing dance instructors. Whether your interest is in learning the fundamentals or exploring different styles of choreography, you will find one of the best quality class selection, instruction, and videography done here. If you are hesitating, I was once in your shoes. I want to say that it is hard to take that first step. But once you do, it will open a whole world of opportunities. FINDING THE PLACE : Ummm finding this studio was difficult at first because it is hard to find exactly which plaza to turn into as there are 3-4 different entry points. And those entry points do not connect. So it would be great if there's some kind of signage to be like "hey it's here~!" I liked the studio, the location not so much--it's in an industrial area and harder to find the first time. But the staff that I interacted with were great. People is what makes you want to give them your business. It's a studio that has great talents come to share their skills and love for dance with students who love dance, hip hop. It's the only one of its kind in OC. I wish it was closer (can be almost up to an hour from south county) so we can go all the time but we are willing to drive up to try to make some classes. Offstage GRV always brings in super talented, patient dancers from the nearby OC/LA dance community (and even international dancers sometimes in their master classes...) to teach! Whether it be dance foundations (beginner grooves, beginner isolations), choreography, Kpop.. you're bound to learn a lot from each instructor's unique way of moving their body and creative way of teaching. My favorite instructors so far are Tristan Edpao (open style/r&b - has a swag and hip hop grooves style), Diny Kim (open style/r&b - has an isolations and contrasting flowy style), and Miriya Le (kpop - makes movements sharper than the usual kpop choreo). There aren't many reviews of this place on Yelp but this place is very, very well-known to the local dance community. Other logistics: - They will let you know where you can park when you buy a spot in a class online. - As of writing, individual classes are $12.75. Classes are usually between 1 hour to 1 hour and 20 minutes. - The last 20 minutes of class is usually spent on filming the instructor/choreographer's and the students performance of the dance. The videos are really well filmed and high quality. You can get these videos for free on a Google Drive, and they're great for showing off your dance progress! - The classes are always at night, and thus, if you are taking the 6pm or 7pm classes, there is usually bad traffic. Try to depart early! - Bathrooms and spaces are clean. There is sitting space for waiting. Staff is really helpful and nice! - You can buy walk-in tickets for class as well. - All you need to check in to class is to say your name.
