We just changed studios and I really like this one. My daughter came from a dance studio nearby that she had been going to since she was a toddler. However, we never got a tour, we never got introduced to anyone, or by anyone. And that always stood out to me. We moved and I, therefore, moved my daughter to a studio near our new house, but she wanted nothing to do with it. As I knew I couldn't go back to her old studio, I found this one. It's clean, it's good parking, it appears to be in a safe location. There is always someone at the front. The owners literally introduce themselves and shake your hand!!!!! The teachers also introduce themselves and give you feedback after a trial class. I think my daughter has found her new studio. I'm willing to make the drive for her to be happy. The reason why we "can't" go back to her old studio is that we went from competitive to recreational and her original studio kind of treats rec as an after thought. Once recitals kick in, it's like 20+ students. Don't get me wrong, by daughter loved the studio. I, personally, wasn't really about it. When we moved to the 2nd studio, the one near our new house, my daughter wanted nothing to do with it. With 20+ kids in a class, it was a no for me as well. And rec kids are also seen as an after thought because there aren't that many options for them with certain teachers, days, or times. Anyway, finding this studio has been great. This place is absolutely unbelievable. The ownership alone makes this place the best dance studio I've ever been to for my girls, and that's including the dance-mom elitist culture that seems to be so common at other studios in this area. The Good Stuff: 1) The entrance to this place is magnificent. It's welcoming. Formal. Not "obnoxious trophy" layered, but feels like a professional studio. 2) The staff, and especially the ownership, is WOW! My daughter had some post-COVID anxiety about being away from us for so long, but the owner of the studio spent so much time with her, trying to warm her, welcome her, invite her, make her feel safe. These employees care about the kids and care about dancing, and that's what makes this place so much better than the other studios we've been to. 3) The "levels" of teams are easy to follow and give kids so many opportunities to be as involved or "recreational" as they want. 4) We haven't been here long, so I haven't met a ton of parents, but the culture of these parents is so much less nasty and cutthroat than the other places we've been. 5) Their finance team worked with us when my daughter wanted to make some changes mid-month. Horrible experience for my 7 year old. Owner is rude and teacher was very mean to my daughter. I would not recommend this.

Our daughter has been dancing at DP since 2016. Started with fun recreational and is now in competition and LOVES it! In all the years, we've always had positive experiences with all dance teachers who show their passion for dance and the students. Getting through the pandemic was interesting and impressive at the same time. What I appreciate the most as a parent, is the level of care Ms. Edith, Conrad, Allison and all staff have with our kids. I've heard it can be hard sometimes to find a dance home, but we're lucky to have found a dance home in DP (our first stop) that embodies kindness, passion, commitment and excellence to the arts and our kids. The worst holiday show experience... This dance school is not organized at all. My daughter took 2 dance classes and I signed up for a holiday show for her both classes after receiving an email from them. I didn't get enough information for how I purchase a ticket for the holiday show, I called the school and they told me I could only purchase in person at school. My daughter had a class on the 2nd day of ticket sales, I went to purchase a ticket. Tickets were not ready yet... I had to wait for them to print out and cut them out. Anyone can make a copy of tickets. So unprofessional. I wasn't even told to measure my daughter's costume size, and teacher ordered them without checking with me. When I received it less than 2 weeks before the show, it was too tight for my daughter. So I talked to the receptionist and the teacher when I took her into the dance rehearsal a week before the show. Of course they didn't have enough time to reorder a costume, and they told me it was a right size for her even though one of her costume was a small tear when the teacher tried to put it on her in class and the costume was squeezing her chest and hip. Instead, the receptionist told my daughter if she could just wear it one time only for the holiday show. Each costume cost $85 and I had to purchase 2 undersized costume. Since I knew there wouldn't be enough time to get another costume on time, I asked my daughter to wear it on the holiday show day only. Event though it was a week before the show, I didn't get any information about the holiday show except the date, I had to ask a teacher how I should do my daughter's hair for the show, and that was the only answer I got in person. I asked teachers and the receptionist which dress I should put it on first, what color of tights I need to put on her, what time I need to bring her in to the show location, but I was just told that I would receive an email about the details. So waited, waited and waited, but nothing. On the holiday show day, I just did her hair and make up, put the the usual tights on her and brought both costumes one hour before the show. But when I got there, all dancers were already in the hall. So I had to ask one of the parents who lined up to enter the hall, and my husband brought her to the back stage door. At this point, I was pretty upset. My husband and I saw all performances, but all performances are cute but nothing impressive like my daughter's precious dance school. For my daughter's 2nd performance, I noticed my daughter wasn't wearing her tights and she was wearing different shoes than other girls. My daughter asked me why she didn't have the same shoes and tights like other girls,but I could just say mommy didn't know and say sorry. After the show, my husband took my daughter to a class and told them we would quite the school since we weren't satisfied with the holiday show, but they told him we needed to submit a 30 day notice by email. So I emailed them why we were so unhappy. They said they mistyped my email address for the holiday show email group, that was why I didn't get any information. I asked teachers and receptionist so many times in person. I was receiving other emails, and why they couldn't just copy and paste to create a new email group. When they failed to send a email, they should have receive a notification email too. They offered me free January tuition and free recital for the next show, but I just told them I wanted to quite and do not charge me for another month. Oh the last week of dance class was fun week, and my daughter brought back a coloring paper she did in her ballet class. I didn't pay money for doing coloring in a dance class. What a waste of money!! read more

Impressed. I was very excited to try something new for my daughter and this place did not disappoint. I was properly greeted at the door by well trained professional staff. Waiting area was cozy and nicely decorated. This location is also huge, I have never seen a dance location with so many large, clean and as well organized as this place. I will definitely be looking into a long relationship with this establishment. Instructors understand how to connect with children and had their whole undivided attention. I loved everything about this place, from parking to all the services offered. Class hours are convenient, and it's a nice friendly environment for the whole family. My son started taking classes here 3 months ago. We enrolled him in a hip hop/ tap dance combo class. About 1 month into the program, we found out that he has a new instructor as well as they stopped teaching tap. My son loved tap and we even went out of our way to get him the proper shoes for the program. We wouldn't have spent the money if they told us that this program would have been phased out right when we started. We didn't get an email or anything about the change of program as well as the change of instructor. It was when my husband dropped my son off one day that he found out from one of the parents. No apology or explanation from the staff what so ever. Anyways, a few months into the program we had some minor issues about program changes and technical difficulties at the school. During this past month, my son only went to class once this week. Classes are once a week. He missed 3 out of those 4 sessions. I inquired about makeups since my son was out sick and another incident the school had electrical issues. Yet, I have no heard back from a staff member. Therefore , my self and other families paid 1 month worth of classes and only attended 2 days. My son attended another program prior to this and he learned so much more and we never had any issues. We didn't continue with the other program due to the distance. The school clearly doesn't care about their customers. read more

My daughter asked me to sign her up for tumbling classes here after the girls on her Cheer Team at school told her about it. Her instructor, Coach Matt, is a great guy. She recently asked us to enroll her in some of the dance classes they offer, which is when I found out that they offer discounts if you take tumbling and dance classes through them. No complaints there! My daughter has a great time, it's cost-friendly, and I trust the staff. read more

Dance Precisions is the real deal! My daughter attended another local studio previously and made the switch a year ago. DP has taken her skill set to a significantly higher level and her confidence is soaring. The studio is teaching a solid dance foundation based on technique, flexibility, and stage presence. More importantly to me as a parent they are coaching the life skills of perseverance, determination, team work, courage, and how to win and lose with grace. My 9 year old daughter danced at Dance Precision in Anaheim for a few months and we ended up withdrawing her from this school. I was so upset at my daughter's instructor and then the subsequent attitude of management that we immediately left the school - even though we had already paid for another 5 weeks of classes ! My daughter loved dancing (beginning) jazz but the whole school and it's classes changed in the beginning of this summer and became geared to an upcoming school recital. I understand that the recitals can be an exciting part of the year for some parents, and a real money maker for the dance school - but the school cannot and should not treat the kids who chose not to dance in the recital like outcasts. We were warned in advance by other parents about recitals and some of their high costs - but we were not warned that some teachers or schools could get real snooty if you choose not to participate in their recitals. My daughter had only started dancing a few months ago so she did not feel comfortable dancing in the recital so she declined recital participation. Anyway, in one particular class my child and another child (who was also not dancing in the recital) were told to just sit in the front of the class and watch the other kids practice for the recital. Class is one hour long so my child was not happy about the prospect of just sitting in class for a full hour doing nothing. When my child asked to call her mother so she could be picked up early, she was told by the instructor that she was being rude and she not given permission to call her mother. Later, when my child asked if she and the other student could go to the back of the class to practice on their own - again she was told by the instructor that she was being rude. I cannot fathom what Precision Dance is thinking. Was every child that was not going to dance in the recital expected to just sit for the full class hour and watch the recital practices?? Without my intervention did Dance Precision expect my child to do nothing for every class that had a recital practice ??? It is bad enough to have already paid for these classes - but to torture the children who choose not to dance in the recital is too much if you asked me. There are other faucets to this story but I will not bore you with anymore unnecessary details, but I will conclude my review with the following: 1/ I have been a martial artist for over 15 years and i also have been an instructor. So i know very well how an instructor and a school is supposed to behave and treat their students. If one of my black belts did not want to fight in a tournament (the martial arts equivalent to a recital) do you think I cared ?? Do you suppose I would think any less of them, or treated them any differently ?? 2/ I have also been an entrepreneur and business owner for most of my adult life, so I also know how management should address the legitimate concerns of their clients. I also know that constructive criticism can and should always be used to improve ones product. 3/ Before complaining in person, I tried to call Dance Precision to request a brief meeting with the owner. I was told that the owner was "Very hard to reach as she is always in and out of the school." WOW, what an encouraging response to a concerned parent.... do you believe that I was then told to email the owner ?? 3/ When I sent an email and did not hear back after 2 business days, I went to Dance precision on the afternoon of my child's next dance class. When I complained to the general manager about this whole incident, the general manger there could not seem to care less. All she did was try to give me some double-talk and run around excuses. 4/ After this episode I told my wife that I would rather lose 5 weeks of school tuition then to expose my NINE year old daughter to any more bullsh*t. from the adults at Dance Precision. My daughter loves to dance and I believe Dance Precision has lost a very talented and motivated student. There are many dance schools out there - perhaps a few of them will actually care about the well being of some of their very young students. read more

As you could tell from my other reviews, I am not proactive Yelper and I only write reviews for businesses I truly believe who deserves recognitions and I try to be honest as I can be when I do so. We have been involved in many youth competitive sports through our children over past 15 years, and I must say in my opinion, our experiences with Dance Precisions were the worst we ever have experienced. I will try to make the point short here... Our daughter joined their All Star cheer team in July 2014 (Dance Precisions owns Cheer Precisions, same owner, same locations / office). The approximate cost of the cheerleading fee was around $1700 (paid up front... our first mistake), which should covers uniforms, cheer shoes for competitions, warm-up, national / regional level competition fees, and 1 week long summer camp. The monthly tuition fees were additional and not included in this fee. By August, the one week long summer camp was substituted to a two day choreography camp. Once the competition season started in December 2014, our first competition was substituted to a high school / pop warner level competition and our third competition ended up being "unable to participate" due to Dance Precisions failed to register the team by the registration deadline. By January 2015, the main coach left the team at the middle of the season and the owner of Dance Precisions (Ms. Edith Montoya) became a temporary coach. From January through the end of March 2015, the team only participated in 3 competitions (one was downgraded to a local high school competition which I noted above) out of 7 originally scheduled / pre-paid by parents. We had requested partial refund in February based on breach of contracts by Cheer Precisions (not singing us up in scheduled competitions, undelivered goods: no warm-ups, no cheer shoes, no make-ups had not been provided for my daughter at the time of her exit in January 2015). We had made numerous attempts to contact owner (Edith), and she had never once contacted us back regards to our concerns or request of refunds. We had spoke to their reseptionists and the accountant numerous times and I must say that they were trying to help us at their assigned work capacities but, in my opinion, they were clearly lacking further directions and explanations from the owner. They refunded us $300 out of our request of partial refund of $880. In my opinion, our requesting refund amount ($880) is reasonable considering $1700 fee we paid up front, and 4 out of 7 missed competitions by our team (each scheduled competition has a per participants fee of approx. $100 each according to respective competition websites), all the undelivered promises (summer camp and undelivered cheerleading gears). Long story short, we contacted Cheer Precisions through our attorney as our last results before taking this to next level, and there was still no response from Edith (owner). After over a month and half of not hearing from Cheer Precisions, I finally got hold of the accountant of Cheer Precisions. Her answer was that their attorney supposed to contact our attorney, therefore, she doesn't have any answers nor can't discuss. I had asked for their attorneys information since neither we or our attorney had heard from Edith or her attorney for over a month, she simply refused to give me their attorney's information. And once again, the owner (Edith) was not available for our call even though it appeared to be that she was at her office. It sounds so naive, but I never expected that locally own youth sports organizations could conduct such a scam within our communitiy and completely refused to bring the matters at least to the fair agreement between parents and the business. I believe that youth sports should be all about kids who participate, but in my opinion, Cheer Precisions sure make it about themselves profiting by shorting their athletes from proper trainings and promised competitions. Simply very disappointing experience! read more

So unimpressed...I went to my nieces Dance Recital today at the Carpenter Center in Long Beach for the 3rd year in a row. Walking in I find out my 6 month infant needs a $25 ticket for a seat she would not be sitting in. Mind you tickets were purchased months prior, never a thought my baby who would sit on my lap would need to purchase a seat. She can get into Disneyland, Angel game, Movie theatre, Fair, Zoo, etc FREE OF CHARGE! I find it appalling your charging babies for seats they aren't taking up. Plus after paying $25 per ticket, your dance school also opted out on purchasing programs. If my child danced at your school I would have a fit. read more

Horrible experience! I reserved my 2 1/2 yr old class with two different people in person and over the phone and they cancel that very moment when my little girl was so excited to start. They didn't do anything about it just see me leaving with my girl crying! No reasons why was canceled. Very disappointing. I can't wait to try a better dance studio like OCPAA. The girls started with their recreational dance class once a week and loved it so much, I transitioned them to join the competition dance team at DP. We're in the 3rd season now and it definitely feels like our 2nd home. The teachers, Edith, Conrad and staff are great with the students. This dance studio works with kids of all ages and with all different levels of experience. I have two daughters that have dance for 5 years at dance precisions! We couldn't be happier! We love the studio AND the staff!

After visiting many different dance studios in the areas surrounding where we live, I decided Dance Precisions would be a great place to start my daughter in beginning dance classes. She started in the Stars Program (which is for kids ages 2-6) with Ms. Natalie for two years and loved every minute of it! As she progressed and wanted to take more classes, she joined the 2nd Company competition team and has been involved in it for almost a year now. At first I was hesitant, but I have to say, my daughter couldn't be happier! Ms. Stephanie is in charge of leading the 2nd Company competition team. She has a natural gift of teaching young girls, not only how to become incredible dancers and perform with confidence onstage, but also about time management, organization skills, and discipline in a very positive way! I feel she truly enjoys getting to know her students and has a knack for coaching them. She is very personable and approachable if you have any questions or concerns about anything at all. Ms. Stephanie puts together various activities outside of dance classes and competitions so the dancers, along with their families, can get to know each other. We have met so many wonderful people through this program and I feel we have not only made some great friends, but we also share one same goal, and that is to have our kids learn how to dance in a positive, safe, and happy environment. Dance Precisions has done just that for my daughter and I look forward to seeing what the future has in store for her here at this studio! My family absolutely loves this dance studio! My daughters have been dancing since the age of 3. We started at another studio and stayed several years but the instructors kept changing and my daughters were not progressing as they should have. Then we attended a local festival where dancers from Dance Precisions were performing and we were in awe! The dancers were in sync, had great technique and stage presence. From that moment on, we knew that this was the studio for us. We have been at Dance Precisions for about 8 years now. My girls adore the owner, Edith and her husband, Conrad. They do their best to make this a home away from home atmosphere for the students. The staff is wonderful and the teachers are terrific . For the first several years at Dance Precisions, my daughters took 3 - 5 dance classes each week, Tap, Jazz and Ballet, Tumbling. They were considered "recreational" dancers and did not compete but performed in an annual recital. While their dance technique and skills improved greatly, my daughters wanted to improve even more and wanted to perform competitively in front of judges and an audience. Thus began my journey into the Dance Mom realm! This is now our fourth season dancing competitively with Dance Precisions and my daughters still love it. The teachers are some of the best in the nation. They encourage and challenge the dancers while training them in the proper technique. This builds strength, flexibility and endurance. The teachers are committed and dedicated to the dancers and they expect the same level of commitment and dedication back from the dancers! While being on a competitive dance team is very time consuming due to the number of hours in dance classes each week and the additional hours for competing and dance conventions on certain weekends, there is nothing like seeing your daughters on stage doing something they really enjoy. My daughters have benefited greatly by being part of the Dance Precisions Competitive Team. They have made wonderful friendships, learned valuable time management skills, learned how to set and attain goals, learned how important it is to be committed so they don't let the team down, learned how to eat right, get enough sleep and take care of their bodies so they can dance their best, and lastly, my daughters have become more confident and poised on stage. read more

The Stars program for 6 and under was fantastic and a great learning experience. However, when my daughter turned 7 years old she declined to go into 2nd company but rather to do the Academy program as we didn't want to do the multiple-hour time commitment for 2nd company; she has other activities other than dance. We were dissatisfied with the Academy program and have withdrawn her to enroll in a different studio. Dance Precisions is focused on competition dancing and recreational dance seemed overlooked and disorganized. The Stars program is great for younger children and the studio seems great for competition dancers. I don't recommend the studio for recreational dancing. read more

FYI - My friend wrote a review of Dance Precisions and it is no longer showing up on Yelp. That's a little misleading. How many more have they taken down? Especially since I am not the only person that feels this way. The owner, Edith asked everyone to go online to Yelp and write a review. Funny how only the 5 star reviews stayed. We'll see how long this one stays here. If you are thinking of getting your children involved in competitive dance you may want to rethink Dance Precisions. I know every studio has politics going on but here they are in your face everytime you step in the building. My daughter is on the 1st company here and is clearly not one of the favorites. It is a struggle everyday to get noticed and get some constructive criticism to help her. She isn't perfect but she works hard never missing a class which should count for something and I pay just as much as these other parents do. She deserves the same amount of their time. She has added on extra classes this year including 3 extra hours of stretch and ballet on Saturdays that are not mandatory because she wants to get better not to mention the stretching and practicing happening at home but she continues to be overlooked and placed in the back in her dances. For another year I will pay and go to competitions straining to see her behind the same kids who are always out front. If these favorites are in her classes all the attention goes to them with the exception of Ballet. The ballet teacher Miss Dayse is fantastic and treats all the children the same. Kudos to her. The favorites and their mothers even treat the rest of us differently like they are the royalty and we are beneath them. They don't paint one prop even though it's their chiIdren using them. I don't even go in the studio anymore because I can't take it. I think the sign of a great studio is one that every dancer is well trained, not just a select few, and every piece on their stage is something they can take pride in. Sending out dances that you know aren't going to do well AND letting the girls that are in those dances know they aren't as good is completely unprofessional and unfair to these girls and parents that dedicate themselves. Everyone should be treated equal regardless of what size trophy they can get for the studio. Most of all, these children should be taught to treat everyone with respect and kindness no matter how many turns they can do or how high their leg can go. Here, it is a select few dances that get the time and effort, and for the rest of us they are just taking our money. The favorites are few and far between and it is the rest of us that you need to support your business. Giving us a little time and consideration wouldn't hurt. While I hate to change her studio and can't do so until we get thru with this 2013 season since I'm so financially invested and all the other studios in the area are well into their competition routines, we will be leaving at the end of this year. My daughter should not come home in tears everynight asking what she is doing wrong. This area has lots of excellent studios and we will be attending one of those next year. read more

My daughter moved over to Dance Precisions about a year ago after becoming dissatisfied with another local competition studio (where she'd danced for 7 years). She and I have been very happy with our decision. She felt warmly welcomed by the other kids on the team, the teachers have high expectations, and run consistently challenging classes. The studio is also well organized and run by a very strong business woman. My daugther transferred to Dance Precisions from a local studio about 5 years ago. Best move we ever made! Dance Precisions is a National studio offering classes for all levels from beginner to advanced for those dancers who wish to make a more serious commitment to their training and competion. Her previous studio was not providing the level of training one would expect at any level. We have been very satisfied with all aspects of the studio. The instructors are all exceptionally qualified and work so hard to help every dancer develop to be the best they can be both as a dancer and a person. The 1st Company Team our daugther is a member of does work very hard and training at this level does take dedication from both the dancer and the parents, however; the pay-offs are immeasurable!! Not only has our daugther developed into an incredible dancer doing things i never imagined her being capable of, she has gained tremendous self-confidence, self-discipline, physical strength and flexibility, the ability to be responsible, respectful and self-reliant. We see these soft skills carry over to all aspects of her life- home, school and social interactions all have benefited. She is very close to her teammates and it is wonderul to see how they support each other in class, at competitions and "just as friends." They love to hang out and do just about everything together! I think the key to the success of Dance Precisions is the owner's undying commitment to development of the whole-child using dance as the medium. Edith is always there for the kids and has their best interest at heart. Now don't get me wrong! We are a highly-competitive team and the dancers work exceptionally hard to be the best that they can be and year after year if shows as we see our fabulously choreographed routines wow and entertain at competitions across the country and take top awards!! The training program has just the right mix of focus on technique, creative choreography and students and teachers committed to nothing less then excellence. The studio provides so many different opportunities for my daughter to learn and explore the world of dance. Summer intensives with current professional choreographers such a Twitch, Tabitha and Napolean, Sonya Taya, master dance classes in jazz, ballet and hip-hop, the list goes on and on. The studio has completed a huge move in the past year and we now have the benefit of new studio rooms, sound systems, the APEX cheer and tumbling gym steps away in the same building and a very safe and secure location for even the youngest child. If your child is interested in trying out dance at any age or is a serious dancer looking for a new "home," I would recommend you come out and check out the studio, meet with Edith, observe some classes and get an overview of the programs offered. My daughter had summer recital rehearsals. It was 9-1 pm. There was an email sent out to pack snacks and water for my 5.5 daughter. I was sure she would have time to drink/snack. When I picked up my child and asked her how it went her response was "horrible." Not only did director not give her time to eat but kept those little kids from drinking any water THE WHOLE TIME. I was LIVID. When he director finally called back that night her response was that the rehearsal would have gone over 30 minutes if they had breaks. And that there wasn't enough staff for it. Sorry but that is not my problem. When I leave my child in your care I expect that you would treat them as your own. It is borderline child abuse to keep a child from eating/drinking water in a 4 hour time period. Especially when they're rehearsing their dance acts. And my daughter asked to drink water and they told her no. I don't normally leave reviews but this was just not right. To add.
