Wow! FIVEGOLD STARS! We absolutely loved this place! We made last minute reservations. The pricing was great. It's easy to get to, right on the beach, 5 minutes from the casinos, and so nicely done! The manager was telling us the history of the hotel, which is still owned and operated by it's original developers, and kindly offered us an upgrade to a one bedroom suite with a sleeper sofa and a kitchen, and it overlooked the beach. We were only here for 12 hours and it was during the winter so I hardly saw this place in its best light. All that aside, I really did dig the joint. You could tell a recent renovation had taken place. They were going for a clean modern beachy vibe with a touch of retro charm. The location was great and although it was freezing we made a few trips down to the water, so I can imagine in warmer weather this place gets even better. Since we normally travel with our kids, I've come to appreciate hotels that throw in a free breakfast. Nothing is particularly healthy or earth shatteringly good, but there's usually enough variety that everyone walks away happy and full. Here there were eggs, cheesy eggs, biscuits, sausage, 3 kinds of cereal, a few bread items and a waffle maker. My kids stuffed them selves, got their toes wet and we drove away one big happy family! read more

Wow. Does this place need some updates!!! Location, location, location, huh??? Well, although it does have a location on the beach which is nice, so does Hyatt Place. The pool is a cement block and doesn't offer much at all for kids or teenagers and the hotel suites are very dated. The suites with a balcony are beautiful and it is a nice feature but you pay very high for it, and you can pay less than half that, if you go down the street at Hyatt or Hilton, and you have better accommodations, less noise, plus reward points too. There is one more plus with this place, is the proximation of the gift shop, Sharkheads, which all three of our teenagers loved. They loved walking to the gift shop and looking around at their leisure, which is a plus for anyone with teens. But, this hotel needs some SERIOUS upgrades. And with $350+ per night, they need to do it! Because I paid $139 per night at Hyatt and the accommodations were much nicer. And it's HYATT. read more

I stayed at this hotel during Memorial Day weekend for two nights. Specially, room 1710. Overall, it was not bad. The decor in the lobby was pretty and the scent they have in the lobby is very pleasant. The ladies at the front desk were nice and very accommodating. We had a two bedroom suite. The room was very, very spacious. It did have a slight fishy odor upon entering but nothing too overbearing. There were a few issues with the room, such as drainage problems in the restrooms, the toilet running for long time, and the closet door being off the hinge and cracked, but we brought it to the staff's attention and they were prompt about making the repairs. There were also a few stains of the carpet but nothing that would make me question the cleanliness of the room. And, believe me, I throughly inspect my room. The walk around balcony and beach view is what won me over with this room. It was beautiful! We were parallel to The Reef Restaurant & Sky Bar. The bar can be quite noisy at night, which could be a con for some, but it didn't bother me. Overall, I would visit again. It wasn't the best of the best but it wasn't the worst either. read more

Man oh man it's too bad the owner doesn't wake up and hire a new manager unless of course they are one and the same which would explain a lot. THere are so many unfinished things and lack of attention to details that any normal hotel would have. It's too bad they rely on their location instead of using it as a springboard for excellence. The bathroom door slides open all by itself while you are sitting on the toilet. Good thing our room came with a second bathroom for a little privacy. However there's no place for a towel to dry your hands so the towel gets left on the small sink in the way. No place to eat except the very dirty couch from everyone doing the same thing we had to. No kitchen towels so we are using the bath towels to wipe our hands and clean the dishes. Oh by the way, if you're stuck in a room near the elevator don't plan on using the internet as the wifi doesn't work. The front desk staff is friendly but after 3 days of the manager not responding to a written note for a call to ask about some of the troubles we were having we finally gave up and decided to post our review which was totally unnecessary if they had called just to say hi and try this for the time being. Don't expect to work using their internet as it is unavailable. It's really too bad because it's located in a really nice location although if I were running the place I'd probably have my morning staff go out and clean up the beach in front of my hotel to get rid of the trash, the sharp metal objects and make the place way nicer. If you're an employee under this half assed manager/owner I'd suggest it's time to move on because if they don't care for the facility paying their way through life, they certainly can't care enough about the troubled employees taking all the guff. read more

Based on some of the reviews I was skeptical about staying here however it was amazing. The room was immaculate and spacious. It is perfect for those who do extended vacations with children since it offers a fully furnished modern kitchen, pull out couch, and a 1 1/2 bath. The bed was so comfortable that I slept through my 8:30 am alarm. It was nice to wake up to a balcony view of the beach where I sat and drank my morning coffee. My only minor complaint is the water pressure in the shower is a bit low to my preference and their isn't a fitness center only two treadmills in this small room. Skip this place. we paid a lot for a balcony overlooking the beach. A group of hotel residents has set up a tent with a massive amplifier under the balconies. TRASH CENTRAL. The little girls at the desk just said they couldn't do anything. And seemed unwilling to try. We stayed here after it first opened and several times since. The room has been allowed to deteriorate. The bathroom door wont stay closed. Lamp is broken. Reported it twice with no response. Generally frayed and dirty. The latch on the patio door is missing. The chair and couch are broken down and ripped. The kitchen is not well furnished. Everything is the bare minimum. i had to argue with housekeeping to get more than 3 washcloths for a 2 bedroom. Did not get them. " She was out of washclothes." Wont be back. read more

South Beach Biloxi Review I stayed here from May 9, 2020 to June 6, 2020. Pros- This hotel is very accommodating to the military. The staff is pleasant and helpful. The hotel is conveniently located on the beach, near many restaurants and bars. The full kitchens are nice. The balconies are nice. The gym is decent if you are into cardio. Cons- The standard of cleanliness is very low. Housekeeping is not existent. They are very inconsistent in how they clean your room. Sometimes they take out the trash sometimes they don't. Sometimes they wash your dishes sometimes they don't. They don't sweep, change the bed linen or mop regularly. Those basic items require a special request. This may be due to COVID-19 quarantine but based on older reviews I doubt it. Also be sure to take your essential belongings with you because my CC went missing and there are no safes in the room. The upholstery furniture and the curtains are dirty and disgusting. The stains are very questionable. Ranging from old spilled food to possible body fluids and vomit. Either way, the couch in the living room and the chair in the bedroom were so dirty I had to cover them with spare sheets just to sit down. The shower curtain in the bathroom had a questionable stain on it as well. The window coverings were just as dirty as the furniture. The rooms are dated and the furniture is beat up throughout the room. The bed is uncomfortable and lumpy. And whatever you do, DO NOT look under the mattress protector. You will be disappointed and severely disturbed. Made this mistake when I decided wash my own sheets because I didn't feel like waiting for housekeeping. read more

Furniture was getting s little shabby and the cleaning crews attention to detail needs to improve. Easy beach access and lots of parking. Room to walk around and within easy distance of a few good restaurants. A nice boardwalk was under construction which will enhance your beach experience. I wish i could live here, it's like a complete little condo! I recently stayed here with my family in the two bedroom and two bathroom suite. I'll start with the positives, the room was fairly large and there was a full size kitchen and living area. The view from the wrap around balcony was amazing! Both bathrooms are really nice, with the master bathroom being decently sized with a great soaking tub, wonderful water pressure as well! Now the negatives, the furniture is in terrible shape. Scratches on all of the dressers. Most things in the hotel are very dated looking. There was literally ONE guy working the entire hotel. He checked us in and he was maintenance man as well. The room came with a washer dryer in one combo. The dryer will lock your clothes in and not allow you to take them out even when it's finished. We had to call the ONE employee three separate times and he couldn't get them out either. We missed our dinner reservation because of this and didn't even receive so much as an apology. We killed two roaches in our bathroom. We had to bring our own luggage to the room because again, there's only ONE employee in the entire hotel! The tv's we're all tiny.. I'm guessing 32 inches or smaller. We got the end of summer rate which was reasonable, but I'd hate to be the person that pays 350$ a night for this place when it's not on special. Definitely not worth it! I can't recommend this hotel. There are better options for cheaper. read more

Absolutely loved my stay here. It was my first time in Biloxi and the location of this hotel sold it. Walking distance from (at least) 4 local restaurants, beach front, and a short drive to many casinos. The room was better than I expected. The full kitchen went mostly unused except the giant fridge (with an ice cube maker!!!) The view from the balcony was great for early mornings or nights. We didn't use the bar/cafe/fitness room, tried the pool once but it was too cold. read more

One bedroom, with an actual wall around the bedroom, pull out couch, full kitchen with granite countertops in a kitchenette type arrangement, (fridge, four burner stove, microwave, dishes, plates, pots, pans, glasses), 1/2 bath, updated and modern. I didn't find the elevators to be slow but we were off peak. Two elevators for a full hotel might take some time I guess. Parking garage on bottom of facility and right on the beach. It is more like a vacation rental and less like a hotel which is my preferred way of living while away from home anyway. Very pleased. read more

My family booked this hotel through Groupon for a wk long vaca over Spring Brk. It looked great in the pics & the room was. Upon check in we got an upgrade to a partial ocean view. I has a couple of problems w/ the hotel: 1. The parking is annoying esp if you drive a large vehicle. You can park on the 2nd level of the garage if you're lucky & are good @ maneuvering tight turn arounds or the 1st level for just 15 min when you check in. There are luggage movers, when they've been returned, by the elevators. The majority of our week stay we parked in the open lot. 2. If you're doing construction, warn guests or move them ahead of time to rooms away from the noise. It's a ridiculously frustrating thing to be woken up @ 7:30 on vacation by pounding & sawing. I let it go the 1st day but I called the front desk & complained the 2nd. A front desk guy hung up on me as I complained! He called back saying they would move us. We were upgraded to a 2 bedroom w/ ocean view. 3. Around 1 am the smoke detector starts beeping in the master bedroom. The front desk sends 2 guys 30 min later saying they can't find a ladder. They used the empty mini fridge to stand on & unplug it. 4. I found dirty stuff that looked like poop on a towel. I took this to the front desk when we checked out. I wanted to make sure they didn't just patronize me & not believe me like they seem to do a lot. The woman just says gross & took the nasty thing. 5. The couch is extremely uncomfortable. This usually isn't a big deal but my husband had to sleep on it several nights d/t a cough he was getting over. 6. The stocked kitchen was a great thing except the blender made a terrible noise, began smoking & got really hot. I quickly unplugged it. Thankfully it didn't catch on fire! Several things I liked about the hotel: 1. The housekeeping, mechanics, etc i.e. blue collar workers were so nice & helpful. If the office or front desk staff learned a few things from them, this would be an amazing place to stay! 2. We got a great large room w/ an incredible ocean view for a wk for $778 including tax after being upgraded. 3. I loved the oversized bathtub big enough for me to lay down in. 4. The room was updated & modern incl a stack washer/dryer, dishwasher, patio, kitchen w/ dishes, etc. I really liked the Biloxi area. I don't think I would want to stay down around the casinos with a family; too much smoke, crowds etc. I would def come back on vacation & might stay @ South Beach Hotel. read more

This place is an incredible deal. The rooms are huge and there is a separate bedroom with one and a half baths, full size refrigerator, stove, microwave and washer and dryer. Wow. All those great reviews, and I have to be the A Hole. Well, okay, I am cool with that. This one is based off our one and only visit. Now that you go tthat, here we go. We arrived right at check in time and were greeted with a LONG line. And everyone in it looked angry. I felt like I should have handed someone my wallet and ran. But I sucked it up and joined them in line. AT LEAST 30 minutes later (I was timing it, but cant remember the exact time, but at a minimum it was 30) we get up to where we are next to be helped. We hear the lady behind the counter tell the guy that he was supposed to check in yesterday. So off he goes to the side. The manager was walking by, but would just do fly-bys, and left the solo lady at the conter to fend for herself. The whole check in process was a huge fiasco, but once we got in, we enjoyed our stay. The rates were great, view from patio was cool, and within walking distance to Shaggys. Just watch that check in process and brace yourself for possible shennanigans. read more

Lovely hotel , we enjoyed our stay . We stayed in the Deluxe one Bedroom unit . To me it does not make sense to offer an entire full kitchen complete with bells and whistle's of everything and not offer a place to sit and eat a meal. The room is there to do so just a two seater of some sort. When I asked about it at the front desk I was told the one-bedrooms don't have tables and chairs even though you have a full kitchen it does not make sense to me. ‍ read more

This hotel is GREAT! Accommodations: Perfect! You could ask for anything more. Our rooms were as shown in the pictures online. Everything was clean and nicely appointed with a modern flair. We had a fully functional kitchen complete with all the cooking/dining essentials...you just need to bring food! The bed was comfy with plenty of pillows and ample quality bedding. I even loved the rain shower in the bathroom too! The Staff: Super nice, always friendly and very, very helpful! I cannot tell you how many times my friends and I commented on how nice the staff was. The Bar: Beautiful open air space with an ocean view! Nicely decorated and has plenty of seating for groups to lounge. The bartender is super sweet too! :) The Pool: It's small. But, it's okay. I really wish they had a bigger pool with a hot tub... along with an adult only swim period after dark, like at other hotels. Oh, a pool side bar would be great too. The location is top notch since it is the only hotel on the beach side of the highway right in Biloxi. The room was spacious and beautiful, and the view was nice as well. My main issue was with the bathrooms. The shower head had a couple nozzles that didn't work properly, thus shooting water everywhere. The towels were rough and also too small. The workers did their basic jobs, but didn't really go the extra mile to make me feel welcome or especially appreciated. I've stayed in other hotels that weren't near as fancy or expensive that were much higher rate because of excellent amenities and customer service. read more

4.5 stars. Got a Groupon for a 2 bedroom condo for $149....I was expecting to be shoved in a corner with a parking lot view at that rate, but no! I was delighted to find that our room directly faced the beach--couldn't see anything but sea and sky from my vantage point on the comfy living room sofa. The kitchen was well stocked, the dining table very comfy. The bathroom was large, with a separate shower and soaking tub. 2 bedroom condos are available with bunk beds if you'd like, which thrilled the 3 year old! The bartender was incredibly friendly and hospitable, the pizza and drinks really good, and the outdoor bar area breathtaking. A few negatives to warn you about, though nitpicky and not enough to take away a whole star, given the incredible value for price paid. --we were here the day after daylight savings and thus, we missed breakfast as the clocks in our room hadn't been changed by housekeeping staff. When we walked down, with a young child, and looked at the dwindling breakfast table we were informed curtly by a very rude staff member that breakfast had ended 20 minutes ago. She made no effort to help us or direct us elsewhere. So, breakfast ends at 9:30. Don't forget it! (This staff member was the only one we had a bad experience with; everyone else from check-in to housekeeping was very welcoming.) --bathroom doors are rolling/latch and VERY hard to latch securely. Depending on who you're staying with, this could lead to some awkward situations. --Despite the lovely decor, the bedding seems like cheap hospital bedding. Very standard sheets and thin blankets (and only 1, to boot--you'll likely need to call for more). --Minor stains on bedding/furniture and bleach stains on carpet....but this is the price you pay for the light, airy, beachy colors that give the space its feel. Not a huge deal to me at all. --soundproofing could be better...our upstairs neighbors were partying until almost 1 AM and we could constantly hear, very loudly, what sounded like furniture being moved. This wasn't awful because by the time we were actually ready to sleep, it stopped, but for those with an earlier bedtime could be a problem... *Tip: only 2 bedroom condos have full, direct, on-the-beach views. Though most rooms have at least a partial ocean view, the rest of your view will be parking lots, restaurants, and highway. Shell out the extra if you can; it's still incredibly affordable and the view is well worth it. read more

As advertised, the hotel is located on the beach and has floor to ceiling windows which were nice. Checking in took about 30 minutes, we were in a line of about 10 others attempting to check in...not a good start. I have never had that happen before. Upon arrival to the room there was one set of wash towels so I called the front desk, they said they would have the towels in about 1 1/2 hrs. Went to breakfast around 0830, signs state that it ends at 0930, biscuits and gravy were cold and uncovered, even after I observed the staff member responsible for breakfast "check" on the area. A beverage was spilled on the floor and this same staff member wiped the floor and with the same towel, cleaned the table off, yuck! As previously posted, the furniture and carpet had stains...not really what I expected. I can tell that it was beautiful at one time, however they have not maintained the facility. I will not be staying here again. read more

READ THE ENTIRE REVIEW... This place is a condo that didn't make it and is being turned out as a hotel. We stayed over the 2011 Halloween weekend. The facility itself and the westward and southward views are beautiful. The rates were a bargain. The rooms are clean spacious appartments with full kitchens. But, be sure to bring extra light bulbs. There's no communication between the maintenance staff and housekeeping. We had three light bulbs out... two lamps and an overhead in the bath. The beach is pretty. But on close inspection, the sand is full of trash and LOTS of broken glass. If you go to the beach in Biloxi, be sure to wear shoes! The staff is TERRIBLE! The owner needs to remove all of the staff and start over with deep BACKGROUND CHECKS and DRUG SCREENS on all hires. Here's the rant... The restaurant proudly displays a "B" rating from the health department! In any book, that's a failure. We couldn't believe the management didn't make corrections and get a new inspection immediately. DUH! The hotel manager needs to go. One evening my wife and I were two of the four people in all of the spacious bar and adjoining restaurant. There were two chefs and a bartender on duty. Our food order got lost! When we reminded the bartender a half hour later, it took another 25 minutes for our order to appear. Food in the bar is served in styrofoam take-out boxes with no utensils! We had to ask for utensils and napkins. The bartender we had never shut up! It's like she's on speed and had to comment on everything. Her only redeeming quality was that she cautioned us that the staff was dishonest. She told us she'd had items stolen from her purse while she was on duty. She needs to go. We soon found out that the help has a workaround for the fact that the facility is non-smoking. We saw a chef retreat to the balcony at the corner of the bar and puff away. On another evening we went to the bar and were the only patrons. Both the bartender and her trainee LEFT US ALONE in the bar to go on break at the same time!! My guess is they were smoking more than cigarettes. and...So much for southern hospitality... The bar help doesn't know to serve ladies first. Go figure! All of the restaurant and bar help need to go. There's a sign on the restaurant side of the door that separates the restaurant from the bar. The sign says the door is to be kept closed at all times. There's a pass-through window for food orders. The pass-through is blocked by a cooler on the bar side and the staff is constantly using the door. Maybe this is the cause of the "B" rating? Staff congregates around the coffee and breakfast buffet in the morning; chatting loudly, shouting in the kitchen, and boldly getting in the way of guests. It looked like shift change and everyone was hanging out waiting on fresh coffee. (They need their own break room!) This is HIGHLY INAPPROPRIATE. The front desk manager asked inappropriate questions about our travel plans... where were we going?... when were we going home? We were afraid we would come home to find our house ransacked. One morning the front desk was completely unattended between 7:30am and 8am... UNBELIEVABLE! ... On the day we went to check out, the desk person was asleep in the adjacent office. The front desk help all needs to go. None of the staff is appropriately uniformed. The maintenance staff should all be wearing long pants and uniform shirts that are clearly marked with their names and staff positions. Likewise, they need uniform jackets for cold weather. Again, clearly marked. This same concept needs to apply to the restaurant, bar, food, and housekeeping services. All help should have uniforms and identification badges clearly visible!! We like the place, but the staff is a HORROR show! We hope to see their web page have a banner announcing all new staff before we travel to Biloxi again. UNTIL THEN... STAY AWAY!!! read more

Upon first glance, the room looked so nice. Very pretty and nice finishings. We checked in late with 2 sleepy kids. The pillows were dirty and obviously pillowcases were not changed. There was food left in the icebox from the previous guests that was not cleaned out. Great view and hotel for the price. I had the partial ocean-side view of the beach and it was super romantic from the balcony. The room was super clean and nice and was almost like a condo. Huge area. I had the deleux suite with the king sized bed. Shower/kitchen area was terrific. Free breakfast was very nice too. Hotel staff was super friendly and great help. Beach was just behind the hotel, go to the first parking level, and there are doors that lead right to the beach. A few lucky people can park their cars in the 2 level parking deck. But you only can park maybe 20 cars in there. The rest, you will have to park your cars on the side of the hotel room. They even have a water hose-off area to get the sand off when your coming back from the beach. Location is great because there are tons of casino seafood buffets around. There is a nice gift shop next door that you can walk to. Like I said, location can't be much better. No getting sand into your car or anything since the beach is in the backyard.. I can't wait to come back again! read more
