Stopped in for lunch while playing our promo slot play. The staff is always great and we were seated quickly. The restaurant was slightly crowded. Lighting was decent. We ordered the hamburger and loaded skillet. The hamburger was tasty and a healthy portion and the server understood the order as my fiancé is allergic to fresh tomatoes. The loaded skillet had eggs, potatoes, biscuits and gravy plus cheese and bacon and it was garnished with green onions. The Original Sourdough Cafe was better, new version is a empty diner restaurant, fake pasta experiment, wife and I sat down at 10pm Saturday, before Easter, four tables occupied, so not busy. We were handed half of of our menus, wife had the other half, ignored by the waitress, we tried to even get the name of our waitress, we did not even get that far, my wife asked for the Orignal Steak and Egg special we always get. Wife asked the Waitress if she had the Special, Waitress told her no, my Wife then asked do you have the menu for the Specials, the unknown Waitresss told her, no. And walked away from the table, frustrating me, then bypassed our table, not taking our order. After time had passed I approached another Waitress, asking the same question, Waitress told me the specials are at the podium, and walked away from me mid conversation, that is when I told my wife let's go, due to m we not wanting to spend our money at an establishment like this, that has shifted their customer service away from locals. When we drove into the property we both agreed we were happy it was during the daytime. The area is a little sketch. Walking into the property I felt comfortable. The Cafe had its own little cool vibe. Kinda old school with a western feel and very clean. The service was good and we were satisfied with the attention we got without it being over the top annoying. The food was all very good. I took pictures of most of the food ordered. I did deconstruct my salad. But I enjoyed it that way. I have not been feeling that well lately but I was glad my wife talked me into going out for a late lunch or early dinner if you will. THE FOOD WAS A LITTLE COLD... once it got to our table! I'm not quite sure if the kitchen forgot one of our orders and set the other meals in our party to sit for 45 mins but it certainly felt that way. I ordered my usual local favorite, the ham steak and eggs and it honestly was barely even warm. I'm just thankful the flavor was fantastic and the portion was great, however I would appreciate my food to come out hot. I thought the sourdough bread was tasty, they serve it with an amazing butter spread that gives a country-style flavor. I've come here before and the bread is just as good as before! The place wasn't overly packed and there was plenty of staff, I'm not quite sure why it took so long to get our food. The waitress was friendly enough, she wasn't the most attentive but she got help from other coworkers to check on us. I can tell that regulars are of top priority here which is slightly problematic and messes with the ambiance. I had a $15 Comp , so I decided to give it another try. The couple times I got a Comp that I used , I did takeout at the PT Express for chicken wings and I did a sandwich once too. It wasn't too busy when I went later in the night on Saturday to my surprise. I sat at the bar since the host / cashier was busy checking people out and couldn't sit me at a table. I ordered a draft beer and the Ultimate Western Bacon Cheeseburger which is a 1/2lb beef patty, pulled pork, bacon, onion rings, cheddar cheese, smoky BBQ sauce, toasted bun with fries for $13.99. I have to say the burger really surprised me , it was old school charbroiled tasty burger like you used to get not the bland tasting flat grill burger or the ones with fake grill marks on it. The pulled pork on it was actually pretty good too considering most places in Nevada don't have really good pulled pork. But the one bad thing I can say and I just realized it was that mine didn't have onion rings on it. I was just looking at the menu now online and realized that now. The fries were decent , but not great , did the job. All sandwiches served with choice of fries, coleslaw or potato salad. Substitute tater tots or sweet potato fries add $.0.99. Substitute onion rings or side salad add $1.99. My draft beer was not very good. I think my mug still had remnants of cleaning soap on it causing it to taste a little funny. I would have asked for a different drink , but my waitress went on break and I was like a little soapy taste won't kill me. It was a large mug , I believe 22 ounces. They have a lot of specials and daily specials to choose from. They are posted just outside the door. My mom and I went for lunch, although she had breakfast. The food, so far, is great. She had the chicken-fried steak and eggs, and I had a taco salad. While not adventurous items, they were superb. I love the fact that the eggs were jumbo sized, and I could smell the fresh gravy. Yum! We shared the toasted sourdough bread. Not the last word in sour, but really good! My salad was superb. The dressing was perfect, and the chicken breast was tender. You know a meal is good when you leave feeling satisfied, not stuffed. I can't waiit to try their dinners, especially the prime rib. The only reason for the one star is because the staff is actually really nice. The cashier, the hostess, and server were kind. The food is negative star if possible. The food, however, is the lowest of the low. Even for simple things that one would think are easy to make - guess again. For this - whoever looks over F&B needs to really be honest about what's coming out of the kitchen. Originally I was going to get the steak and eggs until the server said it was "edible" but not advised. So I opted for the Ham and Eggs instead thinking ham is just a "heat up" easy to cook item and potatoes they fry them up. Only thing left is make some over easy eggs. When the plate arrived the only thing that was good was the rye toast. Sadly, the ham was so overcooked/grilled that it was super dry. The potatoes were cold. I'm not even joking - not even slightly warm, but COLD. The eggs, barely warm. I had to go to my next appointment so I just took a few bites and carried on. If this somehow passed to come out I wasn't at all confident that anything better could be done on a second try. Sadly, when leaving the cashier asked how it was and I told her it wasn't good at all except the server was nice. I know one thing for sure - it's sad how downhill the cafe has gone. I have been eating at the Sourdough Cafe for the last several years. It is convenient and close and you can get in and get out. I noticed that even when it is busy or they have a line for dining that it goes fast and never a long wait. The staff is very nice and I love when I get my usual servers that know me. They have good food and a nice menu with options and variety. I normally get the 5.99 steak and eggs breakfast, comes with hash browns and choice of toast or biscuits and gravy. Mmmmm they have a tasty biscuits and gravy!!!! The food is reasonable, I always get full and they make a yummy ranch dressing! My husband and I ate in the Sourdough Cafe. It's inside Arizona Charlie's. My husband and I ordered breakfast as it was approached 11:00 pm. My husband ordered steak, eggs, biscuits and gravy. It was their daily special. I ordered the two eggs, bacon and toast. We both had coffee and water. The food was delicious but the service was lacking. Our waiter took our order and brought the coffee, cream, water and good out but largely disappeared after that. He ghosted us. I ordered the Fish and Chips meal, which came with coleslaw and your choice of soup or salad. The fish and fries were pretty tasty. I didn't care for the coleslaw because my preference is sweet and creamy. The side salad before was okay, but nothing special. However, what was special was our service experience with Gaye. She is kind, fun, and wonderful. We thoroughly enjoyed talking with her and her great quality of service. While the food this time was probably 3.5-4 stars, Gaye made this a 5 star experience. Not because of The food but the one server that always seems to be there when I go. It's an older Asian woman that works at night like late late night. She is soooooooooo rude! It has been years since I've been to the Sourdough Cafe at Arizona Charlie's on Decatur. I was going to a play in the strip mall across the parking lot so I decided to stop here first for dinner. I used points I've accumulated in my trips to Golden Entertainment properties in Laughlin. Nothing has changed that I could notice and that's perfectly OK. The cafe is a solid place offering a varied menu with good prices. Once seated, my server, Heydin, brought me my iced tea and asked if I needed more time with the menu. I ordered the sourdough turkey club with French fries. There is free wifi which is quite good. In a normal amount of time, the sandwich arrived. There was a good amount of turkey, bacon, lettuce, and tomato between the pieces of sourdough bread. The French fries came in a small paper bag and were good. Before I finished the sandwich, Heydin came by with another glass of iced tea. She was reading my mind. When it came time for dessert, she told me what they had rather than bringing a menu. I opted for the Banana split. She was a little off in showing me the size of it. It turned out to be larger than she indicated. It was very good. Something I haven't had in a long time. The only negative was getting through the smoky casino to the cafe. It seemed to be better as I was leaving. I'm glad I made this reytrun visit to Charlie's and since I'll see a number of plays nearby, it will be a place at which I'll be in the future. read more
