We asked many questions and of course received very suspect answers, "why would you need a air bubbler? Just wait and if the fish start gasping for air at the surface then you should get one." Hmmm... we should wait for the poor fish to start suffocating eh? After the 'expert' advise we decided to start looking elsewhere for our aquarium keeping knowledge and we happily stumbled across Franco's Aquariums! A wonderful paradise for swimming friends of all types. The selection of gilled acquaintances was absolutely overwhelming, where to start? Who swims well with who? How much do they eat? In comes Linda, an upbeat kind and straightforward woman (not at all impressed by the aforementioned pet store). Her vast knowledge of this untapped world was astounding, she easily figured what we wanted in our tank and who would accompany them. It was a wonderful lesson, every one of her recommendations was a home run so we left with 9 wet companions, and 4 days later we returned for another 5. All as healthy as can be with personalities all in their own. It doesn't just end after you leave the store either, she makes sure you're tank is habitable and safe by checking the condition of your water frequently, which brings some peace of mind! Fish die; even just using a different brand of salt can stress your fish. Please go meet these guys! It is small in there but it keeps overhead low so your not paying the ridiculous prices of franchise!

Global has clearly caught onto a market that is demanding raw food nutrition for their pets, but has fallen sorely behind in backing these products up. There are many other highly knowledgeable sources available in the city if you are looking to buy raw food for your dogs, and I would highly recommend giving your business to people whose passion is extending genuine knowledge and sound advice regarding canine nutrition. I had such a fun time shopping for winter clothes with my dog last night. We are from TX so he is…read morenot used to this snow at all. In fact, when Milo goes outside to potty, his feet get so cold, he hobbles around as though his legs are broken until we get inside to the warmth. I knew I had to get him boots at minimum. And, I wasn't looking forward to it. I know how dogs HATE boots. Thank goodness for Global Pet Foods. One of the staff members energetically ran over to help us try on boots. She found the perfect ones for them, and helped me get them on. She made the process so easy and even brought treats over for Milo so that we could make sure he could walk in his new boots -- he wasn't wanting to move otherwise! Then, we moved onto coats. They had so many options and sizes. I found him a perfectly fitting Canada Pooch one with a cute scarf to match. I just HAD to... (haha)! When I was checking out, I was laughing with the ladies running the store about all the hilarious winter gear for dogs out there. I brought up this knit hat with braids that I saw on the Canada Pooch website, and we just died laughing. They said they would like to try ordering some and would call me if they end up getting them in stock. Such a fun place to shop with great customer service. In my experience they do not prioritize customer service and were completely unwilling to work with me to resolve the issue. Oh, and don't even think about contacting head office as they support their franchise owners and NOT the customer. They will make the situation worse and throw you under the bus!! I recommend driving a bit further to another Pet Planet or visit the nearby Pet Valu.

I'm not sure why Yelp felt the need to hide all the positive reviews and leave the negative ones. I'd never been into a global pet foods before moving into the neighbourhood. I have now and I can say that I love it. The staff here are highly knowledgable and really care about your pets. They're willing to go above and beyond to make sure you and your pet is happy. They helped me out with a tricky food situation for my cat and saved me money doing it. They have a great food and litter loyalty program and carry all the brands you could want OR can order them in if by some off chance they don't have the ones you're looking for.
