So as a couple very new to the aquatic world of pets, My fiancé and I had no idea how to start. Of…read morecourse, like any new comer we decided to visit the local big box pet store. We asked many questions and of course received very suspect answers, "why would you need a air bubbler? Just wait and if the fish start gasping for air at the surface then you should get one." Hmmm... we should wait for the poor fish to start suffocating eh? After the 'expert' advise we decided to start looking elsewhere for our aquarium keeping knowledge and we happily stumbled across Franco's Aquariums! A wonderful paradise for swimming friends of all types. The selection of gilled acquaintances was absolutely overwhelming, where to start? Who swims well with who? How much do they eat? In comes Linda, an upbeat kind and straightforward woman (not at all impressed by the aforementioned pet store). Her vast knowledge of this untapped world was astounding, she easily figured what we wanted in our tank and who would accompany them. It was a wonderful lesson, every one of her recommendations was a home run so we left with 9 wet companions, and 4 days later we returned for another 5. All as healthy as can be with personalities all in their own. It doesn't just end after you leave the store either, she makes sure you're tank is habitable and safe by checking the condition of your water frequently, which brings some peace of mind! We are excited to continue visiting Franco's for more wet pets and to expand our knowledge of the water world! Thank you for being a fantastic family owned business!!

The lady there was quite helpful however I find that she can be quite overbearing on getting you to buy things. She would open up the food packages before I could even get a chance to say I'd buy it or not. Once opened I felt obliged to buy them. Also, I was told to buy a water test kit even though my water seemed fine (after she tested it).

The store is quite big with great selection of exotic creatures, if that's your thing. We came for dog food and a new toy for my dog that will always be my puppy. Had a great selection and we found the dog food we wanted, and a toy my puppy just loves. If you can't find what you looking for your pet this place may have it!! So many unique pet needs for any reptile, fish, rodent, birds, cat, dog needs. I was so lost at looking, watching mesmerized by the creatures. I totally forgot to take pictures!!! -park is okay -clean and very well taken care of -staff friendly and very knowledgeable Had a wonderful time just looking.

The store and the floor staff and the products are great …read more..... The prices .... meh! Not great but OK. The only REAL problem with the entire store is the checkout and the till staff when you want to GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY !! You can go there at peak times with the entire line full or be the only one in the store and have to wait, every , single, time. I've been there and waited while the person on desk #1 will eventually wander back over to it after having a lovely chat with the girl on #3. I was there on Dec 11 and dropped a couple of hundred on dog food and that's how it happened! You will actually feel your life ebbing away and slipping closer to death waiting in that line, its THAT bad. (grin) I don't know if its their system, or the staff training, or the steps in the checkout process, or what, but the waiting in that bloody line is beyond ridiculous. Maybe its deliberate because of all the impulse purchase stuff they have CRAMMED in to the check out aisle. ...... it sure feels that way.

We came with a school group and they did an amazing job with their educational presentations, it was fun and informative, and even my little guys were entertained with the performance. We also really enjoyed the fish feeding experience and seeing the sheer volume of fish that are hatched and raised here is eye opening. They take care of their facility and are careful with cleanliness here too and it really shines. Doing a scavenger hunt and learning to identify different kinds of fish in the lower fish tank areas. And these older fish really did seem like they were listening to us if we stopped and talked to them- that was probably the fishiest part of our visit! Fish talking lol And upstairs the displays are so well done! Lots to see and the video that was playing was really great too. Learned a ton here!

A quick note on pond fishing:…read more As of this writing... it's $5 to rent a rod including basic tackle (no personal bait allowed). Additionally you will need a WIN card ($8) and fishing license (1 day = $27). So total of roughly $35 that you buy online at https://www.albertarelm.com/licensing.page . The pond is a modest catch and release pond for kids. More of an educational experience just to cast and reel. So you won't exactly haul in bucketloads of trout. $20 weekend classes every Saturday for 2 hours. Requires reservation. Seasonality applies - you can check their website beforehand.
