*** 3.5 STARS *** This is a restaurant you must try for yourself to decide. Two walls of extensive seafood, meats, veggies, noodles and many soup bases to choose from. Also self serve sauce stations and very attentive staff. I had dropped my Presto card and a staff noticed and promptly returned it. This place is a good size mainly for large parties. It's kinda awkward if you are a solo diner sitting at a large booth. The food is decent in terms of taste and presentation however it is not very economical. My bowl of hot pot with tip came close to $30 and my hunger wasn't completely satisfied. The Korean AYCE next door will remain my go to at $20 for lunch & $30 for dinner and has always sated my appetite fully. Souper Hot Pot alas will be just a one off for me. BTW you can ask for a smaller spoon since your meal comes with a ladle as a soup spoon. They need to rethink that perhaps. read more

The restaurant is fairly big amongst the other restaurants in the area, and when you enter there is a self check-in machine near the front. When I visited, it wasn't busy, so there was no wait. Seating is mostly made up of tables for two and four people at the ends but they can definitely move them for larger groups, and each table receives complimentary lime water. You start by grabbing one of their signature gold pots and a pair of tongs before heading down the ingredient station. There was a huge selection, especially seafood and various fish balls. Since seafood tends to be the heaviest items by weight, I skipped most of it. My favourite items were the salted egg lava balls and the longanisa sausages. I also picked up beef brisket, vermicelli, napa cabbage, quail egg, crab roe ball, beef slice, shrimp wonton and fish slices. After filling your pot, you bring it to the counter to be weighed. I expected my bowl to cost a lot more, but it came out to around $19, which I thought was pretty reasonable. Once paid, they give you a table marker so staff know where to deliver your order. Before sitting down, I stopped by the sauce station. My usual combination is soy sauce, sesame sauce, chili garlic, and fresh garlic. They didn't have barbecue sauce, which I normally like to add, but I also made a separate sauce dish with garlic and cilantro to add directly into the soup later. I chose the limited-time creamy lobster broth, which comes with a slice of garlic bread. The garlic bread unfortunately wasn't very crispy, but the broth itself was enjoyable. I didn't get a strong lobster flavour, but it was still rich and comforting. My only complaint was that the soup could have been hotter. The meal was very filling, and it ended with a complimentary vanilla soft serve ice cream cone. Service was good throughout the visit. Staff refilled our water without being asked and brought out the ice cream automatically at the end of the meal. Parking is the biggest downside since there isn't dedicated free parking nearby unless you're willing to pay. Depending on the time of day, residential street parking may be an option. Overall, I would recommend this place! It's great if you like being able to customize exactly what goes into your meal, and it worked especially well for my vegetarian friend who could easily choose ingredients based on her preferences. Compared to similar restaurants, I also felt they offered a larger selection of ingredients. read more

For all the malatang places i have been to, this place has the most options and VERY DELICIOUS OPTIONS. I think pricing is reasonable and love trying different toppings and this place gives me that opportunity! I had the tom yum soup, very tangyish and sour ish, but slight too salty, so ill give it 4/5. Overall great time, just wish the music is a little bit lower, but great vibes and comfy seating to hang out and eat with friends! Also free ice cream!! Love that for summer time! read more

This is a fairly newish individual hot pot station on Yonge just north of Sheppard. There are 2 other locations in addition to this one. The space is a decent size with lots of booths and tables. What is great is that your choices of hot pot fillings can be found on 2 walls so there is less worry of congestion as you are filling your pot. Items are exactly the same on both walls. There are 2 sauce stations as well. We were greeted at the door and then taken to a table. You can then grab a bowl and tongs by the entrance and start filling your bowl. Good selection of everything from a variety of protein (seafood, chicken, meats) to vegetables and noodles. 8 choices of soup base. Soup choices for this visit were beef sukiyaki and bone broth. Flavour was good but there was the addition of MSG to the base. At the end of the meal you receive a complementary vanilla cone. Toppings can be added with an extra charge. Decent experience. The restaurant is spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The staff were friendly, and everything from the service to the atmosphere was excellent. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is that, while the malatang was good, it wasn't quite as flavorful or memorable as I had hoped. Other than that, I had a great experience and would still recommend it. read more

I've been wanting to try the Super Hot Pot location at downtown for awhile. Finally this location is much closer to me near Yonge and Sheppard! Basically upon sitting down, the waitress explained to us in great details and enthusiasm! Ambiance is spacious and comfortable. Before you begin, you get a bowl and tongs and go grab whichever toppings you like, it's by weight so $3.99/100g, they range from abalone slices, fish slices, shrimp to cray fish and so many different types of stuffed fish balls and dumplings and many different types of noodles from udon, instant noodles, vermicelli. I got the spicy Malatang soup, no extra charge for the soup. They open last Monday and grand opening special, when you spend $20, you get one lucky draw whereby ranges from discount of 100g to 1000g until March 15th 2026. I will be back! read more

The college location is a lot better, this location is over staffed. I will give them credit for being attentive, although it gets to an obnoxious point. There are about 15 people on the floor while there are little customers. It overstimulating, and makes eating at this location feel uncomfortable with all the unnecessary attention you get. read more
