The guy that greeted me(John I think) started trying to tune my speaker right away to see if he could determine the problem. My friend recommended me to come here for audio installation. I brought my own speakers and amp with no materials. John told me it'll be done half a day so I brought my car in, he advised that I needed a sound processor and he had none in stock but says it'll be delivered from his warehouse on the same day. Apparently it did not arrive as they had none left so John gave me a good discount. He also advised that my rear speakers I purchased won't fit and that I needed to buy a different model which saved me more since it's cheaper, he showed me on the internet which model I should get without haggling me to purchase from him. I decided to come here for pricing after I had visited their other location inside the Santa Fe Springs Swapmeet. What I had in mind was a box with one woofer and an amp for my 14 tC, also keeping in mind I didn't want to take up all my cargo area. So that's what I looked for when I walked in there while the owner( I forgot his name unfortunately, cool honest guy)finished helping out another guy. He then asked if I had any questions, I told him what I wanted and what I drove and he recommended a Rockford speaker with a built in amp(btw this thing BANGS!) I was also interested in replacing the four speakers inside the cabin but decided just to get woofer, he gave me pricing and I went ahead and got it done left the car there and decided to come back when it was finished. An hour after I left, I called back asking if they could go ahead and do the four speakers inside and they told me sure, they would have it done before 6 and asked what he recommended (he offered me speakers from 150-250 and told me what would be better for my situation) and went ahead and proceeded. Car was done earlier than anticipated even though they had other cars with appointments to work on. When I was going to pay he told me they had only done the two rear speakers in the back seat plus the sub and explained the reason, so he didn't charge me for the two in the front. Bottom line these guys are awesome, didn't try up selling something I didn't need and were honest about everything! I've been coming here for a year now, bringing my car in for different things and each time they did not disappoint. As soon as I got my car I had them install an alarm and put window tint. I've never had a problem with my alarm (the sensitivity is just right). And from day one there were no problems with the tint (no bubbles), but I might go back and get the limo tint (I'm indecisive that way). I went back a few months ago and had them replace my stock stereo with something more "me". They didn't try to oversell me, but knew I wanted that extra something in my car. It took a few hours (but there's a mall down the street so I was a happy camper), but everything has been in great working order I've never had a problem with my radio connecting, or the touch screen not working, or the microphone not picking up what I say (over the music blasting). And they added a switch to trick the system into thinking I was in park with the brake on, so my kids movies will play while I drive. I have more plans for my car and you can bet I'll be bringing it back here for as much as they can do to it! Great work done by honest people! read more

I had purchased a car used and the previous owner had these guys install a head unit and alarm into the car a year and some months prior. (I was provided the receipt, but none of the manuals.) My alarm was way too sensitive for my needs but I had no idea how to adjust the sensitivity. I came in about a month before writing this review and asked if they could have it tweaked. They didn't give me any hassle, not even asking to see paperwork, and had me pull the car into their garage. The technician there spent about 20 minutes adjusting it to my liking. I offered to pay for their services but they told me it wasn't a problem. That's what I call excellent service. Everything is still working great. This is why Yelp works. I use it as my "go see" before I even go see. In this case I wanted a place to install just some sounds on my little Chadster, yes that's my cars name, Chadster. Chadster has been mute for a while now after I burned some wires, trying to disconnect a cigarette lighter.. Guilty as charged. I didn't mind driving around with no sounds or radio, but It was time to rock some Grace Jones. So off I went into Yelp Land to find my light at the end of the tunnel.... So I seen SoundScape had some nice reviews and I had to check it out. You know upon arriving at the location i parked at the back and made my way to the front. Upon entering, for someone who is not familiar with car sounds, stereos, speakers, and all the BOOM BOOM that most people want on their cars, I felt a bit intimidated by all the "Gear" on display, hey after all I pulled up in a 1987 Toyota MR2, I mean what can they do for my little bucket, in what seems like a high end business? Out comes John, very friendly guy, very attentive, I explained I just wanted to have something to listen too in my little bucket, not sure why I had to explain that it was not a new car and that it had easy access to install, almost like saying please don't laugh at me. Yet, no laughter ensued. He proceeded to show me a basic system for my little car, that had all the components I was looking for, CD player, and aux jack for my ipod, the price was right at around $89 bucks, and a small installation charge, so I bought the unit, left it paid as john explained that it was almost closing time and he had other clients ahead of me, no problem I said, I will come back tomorrow after work. Next day I arrive around 4:45 pm, and was greeted by Johns father, very nice man, he asked me if I could wait a few minutes while he finished an installation, I agreed and proceeded to check Facebook status and timeline (what else would anyone do?). Not long after John himself came over, apologized for the wait and asked me for my keys, my little Chadster was whisked into the bay to have his sounds installed, John worked quick and was able to check electrical connections and fuses to make sure he got power to the area of my earlier mishap. He installed my stereo and did not push any other unnecessary items or things I did not needed. I actually asked him if he would give me a good price on some speakers, (why not, I am already here) and surprisingly he gave a me good deal on some Pioneers with free installation, Go for it I said. Speakers went up, then I remember how my car has an alarm that is active but no sounds come from the alarm horn, again I asked john, if he knew what could cause the problem, with no hesitation he checked connections and advised me my alarm was ok, but the siren you know that thingy that makes all the noise, was not good, I asked if he sold any of those and PRESTO!! only 15 bucks, hey why not I am already here right??? So he installed my new horn for my alarm, for just that 15 bucks installed, pressed my alarm key and well it worked like a charm, WATCH OUT THIEF'S, this MR2 is going to scream if you touch. So to close my review, I was very Happy with the price, the service and how I was treated at this fine Establishment to the point that I am bringing in my second car a Jeep Grand Cherokee to have some alarm, sounds work done as well. Waited a couple of weeks after they installed a 5 channel amp, component speakers, sound processor, & Subwoofer in my daughters car. Wanted to make sure no problems cropped up. So far the the system is awesome. My daughter loves her stereo. I was a little worried in the beginning cuz it seemed like a pretty complicated setup since he had splice into the factory unit, along with disconnecting factory noise control. But he seemed to have breezed though it. My only complaint is that I wish he explained things a little more extensively. There were issues I guess he took care of, but he didn't fully explain how. But since the system sounds so good, I really can't complain. Since the system that John installed in my daughters car ended up so good, I had him install a system in my car. I am so very glad that I'm a Yelper. Yelp has really helped me out with numerous businesses. I was looking for a professional no hassle upselling place that would be trustworthy, so that I could repair or change out my truck alarm. I knew something was wrong with my alarm when suddenly my alarm would go off while driving and my door locks with would lock and unlock on their own. It was kind of dangerous but at the same time funny... LOL! I found Soundscape, and the reviews were awesome! Then I noticed they were like 3 blocks from my house, so it only got better. I emailed John from work and explained my situation with the truck alarm and he asked to come by after and work and he gave me a time when he would be free. John consulted with me and explained that normally an alarm should not activate while driving and that most likely the issue would be the brain of the alarm, the alarm would have to be changed out. John then showed me all the alarms he offered. I brought my truck the next day and left it there for the day, no biggy for me I took my bike with me and road home. Plus he was able to squeeze in at such short notice. John called me after a while and informed me that he had to change out the motor for my door and the other door motor might be going out soon. John offered a discount for the 2nd motor which he didn't have to do, but he did. That was so cool and nice of him. NOTE: Since I have a manual Toyota Tacoma truck 4 x 4 I need the motors so the alarm can activate the door locks. All I can say is that John was very nice and very professional. I read the great reviews this place had on Yelp, and was actually a little bit skeptical, but it turned out that the good reviews were spot on. I came in here only intending to get a consultation/estimate on getting my crappy old broken stock 6-cd changer radio (from Ford) switched out with a new radio / cd player capable of Bluetooth call receiving and music streaming, and the price estimate I got was so good I decided to just have it done. I dropped my car off around 3:30 on a Saturday, and it was ready before 5:30. Thanks to the 10% Yelp check-in savings that John (the employee helping me) recommended, I got a really good deal as well. John recommended the brand new Kenwood KDC-BT362U (which is a 2015 model that released early just recently in 2014) which he said was their most popular seller and I can see why. The sound quality on my stock speakers has skyrocketed thanks to extra power and clarity the new receiver provides, and the bluetooth syncing with my phone is lightning fast. What was also nice is that the price for the radio was around $120, exactly the same price you'll find for it online at Amazon and other stores. The BT362U is much better than the stock bluetooth capable radio that came with our Family's 2013 Kia Soul, which easily takes twice as long to sync with phones (7+ seconds instead of 3) and also starts skipping and distorting if you move your phone even a few feet away from the radio while streaming music over bluetooth. The microphone for bluetooth calls that came with the radio was installed on the upper-left part of my windshield near the sun-visor, and the call quality according to my family members was good. What was also nice is that since I had a double-din radio previously, and the new BT362U was a single-din radio, the extra space that used to be taken up by my old radio got replaced by a nice shelf that I can put stuff (like CD's) in. That was great because I really needed more storage space at the front of my car. I also asked about aftermarket car speakers, and was surprised when I got an honest opinion about the best speakers for every price range rather than being told to get the most expensive items. John was very honest about what he thought sounded good for the price, and always asked me what I needed without trying to get me to buy something expensive that I didn't want or need. He was the same way when I first asked about getting a new radio too. Honest, without trying to unnecessarily upsell me. I know that Soundscape seems like a place that car audio fanatics might go to get exotic custom audio setups with amps and subwoofers and DJ equipment and stuff (which they also do too), but if you just wanted to get a new radio so you can make bluetooth calls from your car an/or or so you can play music over more modern audio connections (like bluetooth, usb, or a 3.5mm aux jack), Soundscape is a great place to go. The selection and the prices are wonderful, and the customer service is friendly and honest. TL;DR - If you're not an audiophile and you just want a new radio installed so you can make bluetooth calls or listen to music with modern connection types, this is a great place to go. I ordered a component speaker install through Amazon. At first, I didn't get contact back within 1 business day (which is what was written on the Amazon page), so on the 2nd day I decided to stop by in person. When I arrived, I spoke with John, who told me that he called me just a little while ago. Sure enough, John called me while I was driving (though I was unable to pick up the call at the wheel) - I just didn't know whose number it was at the time. I drove to Downey from Irvine, and John was very accommodating. He said that as soon he was done working on an install for the car he was working on, which he estimated would be roughly 45 minutes, he'd install the speakers into my car and call me once it was done. Never having set foot in Downey, he also directed me to the local mall to have a fun time in the meantime. From the time that I left the building, to the time that I came back after his call, a little over 2 hours went by - including the 45 minutes that weren't related to the install I purchased, leaving roughly 1:15 to 1:30 involving the work on my car. I was pleasantly surprised! When I got back, John was very helpful in explaining all the aspects behind my new speakers vs. my old ones, and demonstrated that he was very knowledgeable with the expert advice he related to me when I asked him about a stereo and an amplifier and what effect it would have on my sound quality. At no point during any of our interactions did I feel like I was being pressured to purchase any product or additional service. John was straightforward, prompt, and extremely helpful (along with having a wonderfully friendly and cheery character). Best Buy's installation bay had quoted me $100 for EACH pair of speakers, on top of a material fee and the costs of harnesses, for a total of roughly $235-240. Geez! SoundScape charged a flat $100 component installation for BOTH the front and rear pairs of speakers! The new speakers sound absolutely fantastic and I can't see anything at all indicating that work had been done on my car. I recommend this shop to anyone who wants quality service from knowledgeable staff at great prices. If I could give 10 STARS, I would! I wanted to install a complete stereo system, backup camera, parking sensors, interior lighting - the works - in my new Jeep. Turned to Yelp and saw that SoundScape had lots of excellent reviews. I called and spoke to John, who was very knowledgeable and friendly. We scheduled an appointment and I dropped the Jeep off for a week while I went up to Canada (eh?). When I returned, the Jeep was ready... and I was blown away at how amazing the stereo sounded. The Viper alarm is amazing. There is a phone app that you can use which integrates with the onboard GPS so I can know where my car is at any time - as long as I have my cell phone and a signal (yay Verizon!). Auto start feature too - which is nice to have to cool the car off five minutes before getting in to head home at the end of the day. When I returned from vacation, I dropped it off again. John was going to have one of his guys drive me to work (Santa Fe Springs) but instead he just flipped me the keys to a loaner car. How nice is this? Today they installed a really great review mirror that has three video monitors in it. The two monitors (left and right side of mirror) are hooked to two rear side-mounted cameras which face sideways. I didn't need the center monitor (for reverse) as my Pioneer head unit has a backup camera feature. Now when I back up out onto (for example) a highway - with cars going really fast - I can see hard left and right as soon as the rear of my car clears whatever car or truck parked next to me, blocking my view visually. No longer a problem, and much safer now that I can see if cars are zooming at me on the mirror - before I back far out into the highway. Prices are reasonable, especially for the high level of quality of the install. I tried to pay John for his work today, and he said I had already paid for the job. I did a lot of research before deciding to go with Soundscape for upgrading my Tacoma with a new sound system, alarm, and back up camera. John, is genuine and is working hard to grow his business. It's no easy task to be patient and explain things to newbies when you're a small business with limited staff trying to tackle a multiple projects while also providing top notch customer service. You might have to wait just a bit to get to speak with him but it's worth it if you can bare just a small amount of patience in trade for honest opinions, and integrity behind the work. First of all, I called to see what they had in stock for my car. John was knowledgeable and friendly and directed me to a great purchase. Unfortunately, they didn't have a module that my car required in stock but I was ok with waiting till next day to install. The next day I went in and they had everything ready to install. Install time took around 2 hours. They have a nice looking waiting area with AC and TV with remote (I watched the Friday movie while I waited), water and reading material. After the install was finished, I was directed to my car to test out stereo functions and check out its sound. The installer was friendly and showed me how to hook up iPhone and Bluetooth and other basic settings. However, I noticed some interference in the sound system and the stereo was picking up some gain in the grounding. They took their time again to inspect it and after troubleshooting found out the module was faulty. They installed a second one and the interference was gone! The stereo system sounds terrific and my JBL stock speakers sound like they should be sounding. I purchased the Pioneer DMH-1500NEX at a more cost effective price than Amazon sells. My son has the same vehicle as I do and will be purchasing another one for him too and having these folks install it. Strong work team at Soundscape. read more
