Amazing windows! Great customer service, we put the windows in ourselves, we are very pleased with our windows.

I was going bonkers with the highway noise wafting up the hill and a few low airplanes. I needed soundproof windows and these seemed like solid choices. They were to mirror the outline of my current windows and not look distracting or cheap. I spent $15,000 on 8 windows, plus another couple thousand on installation. That's a lot and I expect a lot. Do they work? Highway noise decreased noticeably. Airplanes still heard overhead. Perhaps the noise comes through the ceiling. I am glad I have them. Aesthetics? 1. HORRIBLE and FALSE ADVERTISING on the part of Soundproof Windows. Every single video and photo on their website shows a clean white frame window. My windows have ugly BLACK rubber sealing the window to the frame. It's fat black rubber outlining every single window. My installer - who has done Soundproof installations for 14 years - says no one is happy with this and it happened in the last few years. Tell me, is white rubber sealing "sash" so much more expensive than black? Is this a cheap decision or just a stupid design decision? Am I expected to painstakingly paint all the rubber? 2. The caulking to fit the windows to the opening is more noticeable than I wish 3. On a semi circle window, two sets of screws are on either side of the window. It looks like riveting. The installer put putty on the screws on the outside track, and I'll paint over it, but I'm stuck with a riveted window on the inside track. Ugly Ease of use: for two sliding windows, I paid extra for glide. All the other windows take my husband to force it open - they are tough to open. Quality: A single sash window was cheaply designed with 1 spring not 2 on each side so the spring pops out all the time and it can't stay up. My installer is going to ask them to send a replacement piece with 2 springs. Installation: My installer spent 3 days putting 7 windows in, and caulking. He has one large window #8 above the front door left to install, and he is getting 3 helpers. Good luck to those who think they can do it themselves. I won't comment here on his installation but let's say, it's not a clean, perfect job. read more

I purchased a set of windows to my master bedroom and received last year (June 2023). in June 2024 the window started to crack spontaneously as pictures attached. I contacted customer service and the answer I received is that this type of problem is highly unusual and " Our windows have never just spontaneously cracked in over the 20 years we have been in business." The warranty describes the glass is lifetime warranty and apparently Soundproof windows said they have no idea what happened to the window once it left our facility over a year ago; for example, if anything hit the window while it was installed. The window was installed almost one year ago. I would expect a more professional root cause analysis with possible failure causes and also Soundproof windows would like to understand if there was any impact in other deliveries from other customers. There is absolutely no denying the quality of these soundproof windows. They work as advertised. The reason for 4, not 5, stars is due to the installation process. If you live out of state (Business is located in Reno, NV) shipping can be quite expensive (not company's fault I know) and finding an installer local to your home is a major challenge. Amazing product and great service! I moved recently to a condo in DTLA and my bedroom faces the 110 freeway. Even though it's a high floor and a new building that already had double glass windows, the noise of the highway very much affected my sleep. I found Soundproof windows after much search online. I got in touch with Jim that explained the system to me in detail and was always available to help with the process. Ryan, the installer they recommended, did a perfect job. I don't usually leave a review, but I was left with no other option. I am unsure who these reviewers are that claim the product is amazing, but it doesn't live up to its promise. This is a SCAM I am extremely disappointed with the product that I received and the lack of customer service that I have experienced. The sales pitch promised a 75-95% reduction in outside noise, but the reality is that this product does not live up to its claims. They sent me a YouTube video of Houses by the Train track that the noise was canceled, but I sincerely doubt this. I purchased these windows in November '23, and as you can imagine, the whole sales process went very smoothly and quickly; Jim Rego was the salesman. The windows were delivered in January, and sadly, they did not deliver on their promise of Noise reduction. Prior to ordering these windows, I measured the noise level and compared it to after the decibel stayed the same. I had several consultations with the salesperson, Jim, and the assurance that the windows would effectively reduce the noise coming into my room unfortunately made no difference. I lodged my first complaint on the 4th of February, and up till today, there hasn't been a resolution, and suddenly, everything has gone Radio silent( even 3 months later). In the initial conversation, they claimed that the installer did not have the optimal air gap of at least 2" between the soundproof and primary windows; upon measuring with their production team on a Facetime call, we saw that this is never the issue, and we had up to 3" gap. I was asked to send various photos and videos of the window and my room, but there has been no feedback; they still claim they are still investigating till today. Despite raising my concerns, sharing photos and videos as per their request , and several follow-up emails with the team, I have not received a satisfactory resolution. Except for TOTAL SILENCE: I am not a big client like the hotels. It is unacceptable that I have paid $4200 for a product that has not delivered on its promise, and it is even more frustrating that the customer service has been extremely poor, doesn't seem to care, asking questions after the fact to cover their AS*** at least sales are already done and paid for. He highly recommended someone in the Seattle area to do the measurements for us, and that person has also been extremely helpful, easily accessible, and prompt to respond to our messages. I can now teach, read, pray, write, etc. in my home office without the weekday invasive sounds of idling semis nearby, 24/7 distant interstate traffic, and constant jet noise. I live in downtown LA, and with the way 2020 is going, things here are noisier than ever. My tenants had the windows removed while I was living in nyc, and when I first moved back in, the noise was unbearable. Fireworks, daily protests, street fights, sirens all night long. I hardly slept for the first month or so, and I was wondering if I would have to move again. After calling up soundproof to reinstall my windows, I'm finally catching up on sleep and feeling more comfortable in my own home. Jeff Zola @ Soundproof Windows put us in touch with their subcontractor in our area (RI), NE Contractors, to come out and measure before we ordered the windows, which they did. We decided not to proceed with the windows project. And now that subcontractor has absconded with our $600 installation deposit and claims to know nothing of it. Soundproof Windows has done ZERO to help us try to get our money back. A little lip service and then a refusal to return our calls. Turns out Soundproof Windows' recommended contractor is unlicensed in RI. We are dealing with 2 state agencies in an attempt to recover our money. What a dishonest company. read more

Randy Brown I absolutely will not be reaching out to customer service for anything. Your team did nothing to find a resolution with me. The last contact I had with them was May 1, 2023, and that is when I called them to let them know that the driver was not prepared to get the delivery off of the truck. I never told anyone that I did not want the windows. The driver told me he could not get them off of the truck and he left. I have not heard from your company since that day. That was over three months ago. Not one person has reached out to offer a resolution. The only thing that I will be spending my time on going forward is utilizing the resources available to me to get restitution for these windows. There are companies, policies and procedures in place to protect consumers, like me from predatory businesses like yours. we are in month eight of this debacle with these windows and I will absolutely not try to get a re delivery of these. Your company had 2 chances to send these to me in an effective,timely manner. Both times you failed. The respectable and moral thing to do would be to give me my money back. furthermore, your company stated in the information sent over to my credit card company, that they are no way responsible for the way the delivery company operates. Installed these secondary windows for the rear upper bedrooms this week and what an improvement. There is a busy street about half a block down. The sound reduction is amazing. Definitely worth the investment and easy to install. If you are suffering from idiots with extremely loud exhausts this is the solution. Great product!. Con artists. They lied about the effectiveness to scam us out of nearly 30k. Said it would block out 95% of sound and could block out an airport noise. Can't even block a moderately busy street. Also the measurements of the windows were wildly off what we provided, despite being told we should be within an sixteenth of an inch. They should be prosecuted for this degree of fraud. read more

We bought a new construction house that backs to a fairly busy road. When we bought our home we really underestimated the road noise; all day and night you could hear the cars zooming past just outside of our home. It was keeping us up at night and as two who work 100% from home, it was driving us crazy during the day too. Selling our home wasn't an option and we were slowly losing our sanity to the noise! My wife came across Soundproof Windows online doing research on noise abatement. We reached out and began working with Jim at Soundproof Windows. The claims were almost too good to be true, but Jim swayed us to trust him and his product. We started with just two bedroom windows to see how it went. The results were night and day! We were able to install them ourselves with the help of some relatives (these things are heavy!). All you need are household tools and a little bit of patience and some muscle. We were concerned that they would be obvious, however the Soundproof Windows matched up with our windows so well that you cannot tell they are there...that is until you open them. After the great results in our bedrooms, we added them to every street facing window in the house. It was quite an investment, but worth every penny as they are the only things that have allowed us to stay in our home and keep our sanity. I cannot recommend Soundproof Windows or Jim enough. SCAM ARTISTS. Our 4 pane sliders were delivered, and then installed by a team of handymen. On their first time out, they noticed during measurements of the pieces in the shipment that the right frame post was mis-cut and too short. A replacement piece was sent after calling. On the handymen's second visIt, they installed the sliders and I had noticed after they left that there was a gap above the right two slider panes near the top... Totally defeating the point of soundproofing. The handymen were called out one more time to remedy this and they worked hard to try and get everything square and snug. Today, on yet another visit from the handymen (this time the owners of the company) they remeasured everything and found the two panels on the right were more than 1/2" out of square. Of course, I called Soundproof Windows. What proceeded was a woman telling me I'm being transferred to customer service, except only an answering machine got my call. I left a message to tell them these 2 panels were manufactured incorrectly and that replacements would be needed. Also that I'd like their local tech to come out as they offered before, with my call-back number. They've since refused to call me back, and anytime I reach out to them on their listed phone number my call is deflected to their answering machine. Ignoring me due to your shoddy manufacturing and QA is not gonna work out. I don't tolerate people who take $5,000+ and run with it. EDIT: I have since been emailed and called, and the individual handling this from customer service requested to know how the panels were out of square. After relaying the handymen's measurements of exactly how each panel is out of square I received a message asking me to again take pictures, video, and measurements of the same exact thing. Also saying that I should try paying their local installer to "look into the issue for me." No word on my replacements though after I immediately provided pics/video read more

10 out of 10. For the value provided I can't even say they're expensive, they're just worth it. They will really make your windows quieter than your walls. I live in LA facing a 5 lane expressway with a water flow dip in the street--imagine facing a freeway, in front of a speed bump, hit at 60mph every second, always, every hour, every day, for a year. But with a low power fan on, I will go days without hearing a single car. The windows are heavy, and they will take a while to install, but thanks to the provided instructions, bits, and videos, I was able to do it all without help. They were designed to do a job and they DO IT. My bed is pressed against the walls where the windows hang, and the street noise comes from the other side of the room, through the bathroom window, on the other side of the bathroom door. The city noise is still there but it's not coming from the soundproof window side, which is exactly what I bought these for. They made my room livable, instead of (at best) tolerable. I waited ten months to post this, to see if screwing in over 100 pounds would do damage to my walls, but as long as you drill into studs, you're gold. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. A few years ago I had 5 windows installed. Don Handlin was my salesman and Ryan Sanquist was the installer. I was pleased with the result and the service. I decided recently to have 3 more installed so I called Don and told him I wanted the same thing. They were recently installed and MANY changes were made to the windows that I was NEVER told about. I complained and was basically told I have to live with it. $5000 and it looks awful. You should also manage your expectations about how much soundproofing you are going to get. I don't know who these reviewers are that say the result is "amazing". Certain noises are reduced and that's as good as it gets. read more

$6,000 for 5 windows, $2,500 for installation cost. Charged me $200 extra for shipping when I already paid in full citing gas prices went up with no notice or permission to recharge the card. Almost no noise reduction. The windows are poorly made, you will never be able to open them. The pane that opens and closes is literally held together my a tension cable. The contractor supposedly measured everything correctly and installed correctly yet one of the window panes just fell out a month after installation and crashed to the ground. I started checking all the windows and there are gaps along the edges where it meets the frame of existing window. Contractor came back out to replace the window that fell out and was supposed to fix gaps. Still there. Emailed pictures and back and forth for weeks only to get a response that the gaps are supposed to be there, but now moisture is trapped between the soundproof window and existing window every time it rains. I don't even know how you can say gaps are supposed to be there when soundproofing requires you to eliminate areas where sound can travel through. I got a second opinion and was told this could eventually lead to mold and mildew problems. Their management team was supposed to get involved, but not a word from them , so eventually had to file a complaint with my credit card company. read more

I can't not believe how effective these windows are!! I'm so grateful to this company for finally affording me some peace and quiet. I live parallel to a busy interstate and my toddler sons room is at the front of the home. He was unable to sleep due to the 18 wheelers and constant noise from the traffic. I strongly believe that the noise gave him anxiety. I researched relentlessly for a solution. I started with thick heavy curtains, but that didn't help at all. It took me a while to finally make the decision because it was a significant cost for just one bedroom. And you can't simply return them if they don't work. I'm glad that I did, because his room is now called the "quiet room". I took a nap in there the day the windows were installed and I slept soundly. If noise is an issue, invest in these windows!!! I've used Soundproof Windows for two different houses, the first on a busy 40 mph 4-lane road and the second in a quiet neighborhood *if it wasn't an active construction zone*, which it is currently and will remain so for the next 6-12 months. Without the Soundproof Window in my bedroom (especially because I sleep in late), I would have been miserable. I can't think of a much better investment in your home than creating a quiet, peaceful environment and I can't think of any company to do a better job than Soundproof Windows -- it's their specialty. I've always had great service from them and fantastic windows. In fact, the only reason I bought the house on the busy road is *because* I was already aware of Soundproof Windows as a company, and I felt that it gave me a competitive advantage in the market to buy an otherwise great house with a "defect" and quickly fix the defect. It did. Our house was quiet as a library, never any noise issues whatsoever. I sometimes find myself shocked that other people aren't aware they can fix their noise issues, they just continue to tolerate poor quality of living, even people with plenty of money, so I pretty much tell everyone I know about Soundproof Windows because they need to be aware of what's out there! I appreciate all they've done for me and can't recommend them enough. Besides noise alone, windows are one of the primary culprits in a house of heat transfer and cold transfer, but if you have a thicker, additional window, you do cut down on that and save on energy costs. If you're especially sensitive or there's a lot going on in your neighborhood, I do recommend the thicker glass if you can go for it. I did that on the second house in this bedroom and it's remarkable, I can tell the difference having used both products. I'll walk into my office in the room next door, where I didn't feel the need for any Soundproof Windows (usually I work later, so noise is less of a concern), and it's LOUD, there's some nonsense construction, a garbage truck that's insanely noisy, barking dogs, or whatever else, and you can't hear any of that in my bedroom next door. I ordered two soundproof windows for my living room and bedroom. I paid a handy man to install them. After about 10 months the living room window developed a multitude of spider web cracks inside the pane. It's not on the outside of the window where I can feel it but inside. So I can't see how the damage is an installation issue or this happened from something I did. It doesn't seem to have affected the sound dampening but looks awful. Can't any American company make a quality product anymore? I am so glad I didn't replace my front window now. read more

I've been trying to contact them, and no one answers the phone. I try to make a payment to have them ship me my doors and no one answers. They charged my card without letting me know, good thing I keep my funds in another account. They don't give a straight forward time of delivery, very ambiguous. EX: " We're aiming for this week". It states on their contract that payments should be made "on or before delivery", I have yet to receive delivery confirmation. They stop taking your phone calls if you try to talk to management. They screen your phone calls. They do respond to emails. I would highly suggest not to use them. My clients and I are very disappointed in this company. read more

I recently bought a house near a busy street that I had previously lived near. I had no idea of the amount of early morning industrial traffic nor the amount of late night drag racing that takes place on this particular stretch of the avenue. It's about 20 yards away from my master bedroom's sliding-glass door where I sleep. I immediately started looking for a solution. I found Soundproof Windows and I talked with Jim Rego, their west-coast manufacturing representative, over the phone. He was so helpful and re-assuring, I was a little nervous about making such an investment on something that I didn't know much about. I wasn't sure how well an interior sliding door from Soundproof Windows would work in this close of a proximity to all the engine revving. I wanted to make sure I had the correct measurements and had taken the trim around the door frame into account etc.. Jim understood that I was unsure of my handy skills and put me in touch with a local carpenter who had worked with the company.. and he was great! Totally helpful! He sized everything up in-person at my house and assured me, "oh yeah.. this door is going to block all that sound." Flash forward to today.. the door was just installed and wow! ... just wow. The traffic sounds like it's many blocks away even though it's right outside my door. All the traffic sounds like an ocean far in the distance. Busy street noise, drunken parties, etc.. They DO NOT block loud motorcycle noise (which probably goes through the walls). I ended up having them shipped and installed on my own, six months later than planned. The company did replace some windows (measured by Ryan S.) that didn't end up fitting.
