Went to Soundwaves last July to get a quote for a small (8 inch) sub, amp and box for my SUV. I had been to several other places in town, and was treated like I had no clue as to what I wanted. When I went in to Soundwaves, they listened to what I was looking for, treated me very courteously and shown what options were available in the sizes I wanted. They hooked my phone up to several subs, giving me all the time I needed to decide on my sound. Wrote it up and I just had it installed in January. (It was a Christmas present.) Brought them a difficult vehicle (Chevy Traverse) to do speaker/amp/etc install work on. Was an overnight job (which kinda sucked because I lived far away - had to rent a car from car rental place next door.) Head unit could not be replaced so we had to work around that with various components. Their recommended components weren't cheap but the quality was good. I don't know stereos from a hole in the ground but knew I wanted it to sound better than my mediocre factory unit. Tried to get a system to match the Bose ten-speaker system in the higher-trim version of the car I had, but it would have been prohibitively expensive to do the extensive body modifications. When they finished up they told me they didn't install two particular components because they found the system worked fine without them. Appreciated the honesty (and $ savings). When I first tried out the new system in their parking lot I was a bit underwhelmed and got grumpy. The installer could hear the difference but I couldn't. But later discovered it was mainly because the source music recording had rather limited dynamic range to begin with. Soon after on the way home I played some music of higher sonic quality and I could REALLY tell the difference then! Big time! So I felt a little sheepish about how unenthusiastic I was when I first got the car back from them, especially considering how much extra effort it took them to deal with that make/model car. It's been 13 months since then and I'm still happy. (I don't write Yelp reviews until I've lived with the product/service for a while.) Sound system doesn't get ear-shatteringly loud like I expected it should, but at my age perhaps that's for the best. I'd definitely return to them for other work and recommend others to do the same. read more

The guys here are great. I bought a new Nissan and the dealer recommended them for tinting. Cory was awesome, took his time and explained everything to me and couldn't have been nicer. Buyer beware. I bought a pair of Hertz Hi-Energy 5.25 coaxial speakers at Sound waves and paid $382.00 including tax. I checked on line today and the same exact speakers are $249. I understand that brick and mortar shops need to charge more than online merchandise, and I don't mind paying more, and I seek out locally owned stores rather than online or the big box stores....but a $133 difference is a bit unreasonable....don't you think? read more

Beware! Do not bring your own equipment for install. Had them install a Sony BT radio from Crutchfield I got bc their inventory was unspectacular. On day of install, was told my car would be ready at noon- it was not. Finally was ready hours later only moments before they closed. Had to take car back to them because I was unsatisfied with the install quality- faceplate awkwardly pushed in and plastic brackets were visibly bending. They claimed that was the best they could do with my equipment from Crutchfield which was specifically ordered for my vehicle... Whatever... Whole thing looked like a mistake. Then about 30+ days later, radio stopped working- you can tell it's not getting any power. Called them to fix and since I provided my own equipment combined with their subpar labor, Labor is supposedly only covered under warranty for 30 days. Bottom line: this place just wants cars in and out and your money. They sacrifice quality for quantity. Very unimpressed with their customer service, warranty, install service, and lack of attention to detail. Now I'm taking my car to another shop to fix their mistake and you probably should to!
