Bathroom alert The bathrooms weren't tended to as well. They needed more ada compliant bathrooms. If you can't take the stairs there were elevators to get to the rooftop. The roof is the best part. The stage on the first floor is pretty cool too! I'd love to come here for a music event. It was a little too crowded for a booze convention.

I wish that the venue would have been more accurate with specifying the time that the performers would start. On email correspondences, it was stated that the concert would begin at 6 PM and end at 10 PM. The venue did not start letting people in until 7 PM, and the concert did not begin until 8 PM. This information would have saved me a big rush getting there and given me peace of mind, considering I was traveling from afar. The concert room was a little humid/muggy for a good portion of the performance, and it was not until halfway through the show that the air-conditioning was turned on. Drinks were quite pricey, approximately $60 before tip for two vodka Red Bulls and one gin and tonic. However, this is to be expected of a New York venue. The drinks were tasty! Aside from the VIP section upstairs, there are absolutely no seats here, not even by the bar. Although this is a nightclub style venue, I believe there should be at least a handful of seats in the event someone is not feeling well or can't stand that long. I brought my parents to the charity concert and had to find makeshift seats for them on stools that I found in the basement. There is street parking all around and we found a spot on the street right around the corner from the ballroom. The performance itself was spectacular and high energy! I loved the decor via digital designs on the screen behind the performer, as well on the screens above the bars on each side of the room.

Almost every single guest told us it was the most perfect wedding they've ever gone to. First, the planning process. Eman is the most organized, efficient and professional coordinator you will find. She was there with us every step of the way, guiding us to make all the best choices. On the day of the wedding, it is scary how she is able to get things done. It's clear she has done it a million times and knows exactly what to do to make sure everything goes smoothly. The food - guests still have not stopped raving about the entire cocktail hour, from the sushi station to the sliders. For dinner, the entrees are ACTUALLY delicious - not your typical wedding food at all. And the dessert parade (also super yummy) is such a fun surprise to end the night with. The service - there were so many staff everywhere to help answer questions and give directions, and every single one was patient, kind and helpful. During the dinner, guests said that their water cup was never empty and the server for each table was responsive and accommodating. We never felt like we were just one in a hundred weddings they've done that season. It made all the difference for it to feel like a high-class event. The venue - you won't get views like this anywhere else. The rooftop for a ceremony is so so unique and special. The foyer was the perfect place for cocktail hour, such great vibes. And the penthouse was jaw-dropping gorgeous. The candles and string lights against the nighttime skyline makes for the best backdrop. I must commend the Ravel team for being on top of their game, and for being candid while also trying to make our dreams come true.  As someone who has never planned a wedding before, the Ravel team were patient and helpful every step of the way. They were able to stay within budget, while also making recommendations on how to optimize within budget. (In full transparency, we got married during peak wedding season in terms of costs, but the Ravel team helped us stay within budget.) The end result was our truly magical East-meets-West wedding, one that earned top reviews from all my guests - many guests said it was the best wedding they have ever attended! The food also deserves endless praise - it is rare to find a venue that does truly delicious in-house catering. Guests also said it was the best wedding food, and I have to agree - especially the appetizer stations, including the sushi bar! Oh, and the after-dinner dessert parade? Bottle service with dessert? I have never seen that in all the weddings I've been to, and it knocked my socks off! April was always just a phone call or email away to answer our questions and reassure us when we became stressed. April and the rest of the team at the Pratt House truly went above and beyond to make our wedding day a special, memorable, and unique day for ourselves and our guests. On the day of our wedding, the Pratt House looked stunning and our guests couldn't stop raving about our choice of venue. I was particularly blown away, as were our guests, of the Pratt House library as a cocktail hour space (which I highly recommend). Working with the Pratt House staff and our vendors (many of whom were recommended by the Pratt House), we were able to personalize the space to fit our travel themed wedding by adding unique floral arrangements and centerpieces and add sentimental touches to the space. Midway through, our main contact switched to Arthur, who was amazing, so sweet, accommodating, and customer-focused. Frank was wonderful as well, even granting us three extra hours of venue access and allowing us to ship a large mirror ahead of time, which was such a huge help and greatly appreciated. On the day-of, Arthur and Kat were the main on-site coordinators and they were incredible. I did hire a third-party, day-of coordinator and I don't regret this, as it helped give me peace of mind to ensure everything stayed on track! Honestly, the entire staff went above and beyond. My guests raved about the bartenders, especially the bald gentleman everyone loved (I am sorry I didn't catch his name) and the wait staff were so attentive and kind. Guests with dietary restrictions felt especially taken care of thanks to their thoughtfulness. I didn't catch everyone's name, but I do remember one person named Rafael was soooo sweet and was very attentive. Overall, I have noticed they have excellent staff retention (many of their staff have worked there for many years). That alone makes me happy and made me feel comfortable booking them. And the food... wow. From hors d'oeuvres to the grazing board to late-night pizza, everything was delicious. I received so many compliments, which is VERY rare for wedding food! I didn't eat much that night, but The Sanctuary kindly packed us (a LOT) of steak to-go, and my wife and I devoured it at 3 a.m. It was incredible. I ate that steak for lunch the two days following our wedding! At the end of the night, one of the staff members even helped us load our personal belongings into the Lyft, which they absolutely had no obligation to do. I truly cannot recommend this venue enough. Also, there is a parking lot the venue utilizes with spots for about 30 cars which was a big help! Everyone always thinks their own wedding is the best, but you would not believe how many people came up to us throughout the night and said it was THE BEST wedding they'd ever been to! The compliments about how unbelievable the cocktail hour was, not only because of the variety (it is a LOT of food) but how delicious it was, have been endless. Lori gave us the opportunity for a tasting prior to our wedding, and we got to meet the amazing chefs, who like everyone else were so friendly and more than accommodating. Although most people said they were so stuffed from cocktail hour, many still raved about the main course and the insane Viennese hour that they put together for us. We had a bridal attendant at our side the whole night and loved the Maitre D. Several guests commented on how awesome it was that the bar was huge so there was never a long line, and also said the bartenders and all service staff were very friendly. To top everything off, the beach was pristine and we had a lovely October day to take some amazing beach pictures! We were thrilled with everything! If you buy "the package" from The Sands (which ended up being a great choice for us,) you will be given choices of 3 photography companies, 2 DJs and 2 florists. I am sure all of the vendors are great, but we have to say we were over the moon with White Light Photography, Feriani Floral Decorators and EJ the DJ. We cannot say enough good things about any of these companies, and how they did everything they could to tailor the night to be specifically exactly what we dreamed of.

Yes, the views are amazing, however the weather has to be just perfect. Especially if you plan to use the outdoor patio. Which, why wouldn't you? The space itself is not for large groups, wedding party size approximately 50. Plus the wait, bar & other service staff. The location is prime, if you plan to take a car, remember this is NYC & traffic is bad. You can probably walk faster than a cab or car service. Especially during the month of December. NYC gets more visitors in December than all year long. The venue has 2 bathrooms for women which is not good, however worked for this crowd. Think of this location as a once in a lifetime, only if you have the funds for this location. As guests we were thrilled to be invited to such a lavish wedding!
