She went above and beyond to make sure I was set up with everything, even thought it was last minute for her. The space was cool and I received so many compliments. There is a little garden in the back, a larger room where we had the tables to eat, a smaller room where we put the food, a long, decorated hallway, and a bar area in the front. Most importantly, it was affordable! I would definitely go back for another event. Thank you again!

The food was absolutely delicious, and the staff was incredibly attentive. The owners, Rebecca and Yvan, and their team were so helpful and accommodating from start to finish. It can be hard to choose the perfect wedding venue and at first, we weren't sure what to expect. But after our tour, we knew this was the place for us. The outdoor patio area was intimate, warm, and beautiful! We rented space heaters in case, but we didn't end up needing a tent - though My Kitchen can rent a tent if needed. We had the reception outside, with string lights hanging above. It created such a magical atmosphere as the sun set, and the lights added the perfect touch. We had about 40 guests and there was definitely enough space for all of us. Even though parking was limited, guests were able to easily find street parking in the surrounding residential area even on a Saturday night. On email correspondences, it was stated that the concert would begin at 6 PM and end at 10 PM. The venue did not start letting people in until 7 PM, and the concert did not begin until 8 PM. This information would have saved me a big rush getting there and given me peace of mind, considering I was traveling from afar. The concert room was a little humid/muggy for a good portion of the performance, and it was not until halfway through the show that the air-conditioning was turned on. Drinks were quite pricey, approximately $60 before tip for two vodka Red Bulls and one gin and tonic. However, this is to be expected of a New York venue. The drinks were tasty! Aside from the VIP section upstairs, there are absolutely no seats here, not even by the bar. Although this is a nightclub style venue, I believe there should be at least a handful of seats in the event someone is not feeling well or can't stand that long. I brought my parents to the charity concert and had to find makeshift seats for them on stools that I found in the basement. There is street parking all around and we found a spot on the street right around the corner from the ballroom. The performance itself was spectacular and high energy! I loved the decor via digital designs on the screen behind the performer, as well on the screens above the bars on each side of the room.

I will say compared to the other places we checked out, Skylight was very well maintained and modern looking with nicely painted walls and contemporary mirrors. The bathrooms were super clean and this location had a small kitchen with a window, which was perfect for our bartender to serve drinks. The price was also affordable and they provide clean up for you. The reason why I didnt give 5 stars is bc of the owners mother in law (the decorator). She was seen at my event on multiple occasions lingering around and I was informed she asked for food. Really?!... Honestly, I would have preferred to not have her in the background of my pictures and clearly in my videos as well. It was tasteless and I would have respected a check in here and there not hawking around like we were throwing a children's party. Oh and the icing on the cake... she threw out our custom engraved champagne glasses bc she was in a rush to clean up. Overall my party was a success and my MOH and mother decorated the hall beautifully within the 2 hour (prior to party time) slot they were given. There was enough room for a photobooth, DJ, cake table, main table, tables for 60 guests and there was still space left for a few people to buss the Electric Slide.
