Ive never seen a place turn down money before. I inquired about installing a system in my 2024 Elantra, granted I had all my own equipment but all name brand JL Audio Rockford Fosgate from my old Challenger, and they refused to install unless I bought all the equipment from them. Beware if your job doesn't go well! I had a satellite radio installed in my car at the East Providence location. Soon after it came lose and tangled in the steering mechanism. Cost me over $400 to repair and properly re-install. When I called the manager, he instantly deflected responsibility. They are polite, knowledgeable, professionally trained by the manufacturers on the products that they sell (certificates are framed and on display) and have a large product offering. Pretty good recipe of you ask me. We have had countless things done to our vehicles over the years. Most recently, we had them install an alarm and remote car starter into our new Jeep Wrangler Willies Unlimited as well as our Volkswagen Jetta. Wow! I dropped my car off at 9am and it was complete by noon. I can't begin to tell you how great it looks - some places will use two pieces of tint on the back window as those can be hard to place, but they only used one piece and it looks like I bought the car like this. They did a quality job with the tinting and I'm so glad I got it done. I was a little hesitant to have someone mucking around with my car only a month after buying it, but man oh man does my baby look good. They said they provide a lifetime guarantee on the tinting as well, you can't beat that. read more

Worst experience ever. Ordered a simple Bluetooth adapter for my car, prepaid over 400 dollars including the ridiculous $150 labor fee. Was told it would be at the store within a week, made an appointment for OVER 2 WEEKS from the day I paid. Took the day off from work, showed up to drop my car off and ordered an Uber , the fucking genius behind the cash register informs me that they don't have the part, and it hasn't even shipped yet. When I asked him why the hell he didn't call me the night before to let me know he started stuttering and didn't have an answer. So yeah. This place is completely unprofessional. I dropped my truck off to have an auxiliary cord kit install. I got there at 9am and was told it would only take a few hours. By 2pm I called since I hadn't heard anything and they hadn't even started the install. I finally picked the truck up at 4pm and when I got in the truck, my steering wheel and seat had been moved, my truck was in four-wheel drive when I left it in two-wheel drive and my clock was off so they must have disconnected my battery. So, I go to check my battery cables and THEY ARE LOOSE! I work at a car dealership and if I ever left a customers vehicle like that, I would have been fired. When a customer resumes control of their vehicle, it should be in the exact condition they left it in. Any professional would have known that I am never going back there again. I am not one to give out low rating but I think visiting this business it all could have went better. It wouldn't even take much effort to change experiences. I wasn't too happy with the fact that I had to leave my car literally all day. I also was bummed out that $200.00 was how much a remote starter costs but that if your car is a newer year that you would need extra stuff. I had to come out of pocket more than I would have liked but didn't fight it. I was grateful I didn't have to pay for the whole thing. But after waiting all day for my car and paying a good chunk of money on top of the gift card, I was testing it out in the parking lot to make sure that all my time and money wasn't for nothing. I trusted them but still had to put it to the test. The dude inside explained briefly, like I have heard it a million times, how to use the remote starter. After the run down I did the one click, two click thing and realized I couldn't use the car key to unlock doors or pop the trunk, which was all on my actual key. So this extra device that I paid extra for is actually deactivating or overriding my car key, ugh. I was told that I could get another button for more money....no. It's bad enough when I asked for a little assistance after testing out my remote starter in the parking lot, I had to wait until the guy stopped messing with his cell phone (with his back to me, the door has a damn buzzer for goodness sakes) and turn around and follow me outside to help me get the doors unlocked. Is it too much to ask .... really .... I guess all I am saying is that if they didn't have all the extra fees and costs, and the staff was slightly more interested and nice I think this would be a better place to shop. read more

Nick (store manager) replied to my many emails promptly. He answered all my questions about removing it and having it reinstalled in my husband's new car. I had my car tinted here and it came out great. I took my car to another place first and the installer was totally incompetent and could not do the job. It took Sound FX about 3-4 hours to do the job and it looks perfect. They might be a little more expensive than other spots but they use quality film and have an expert installer. read more

Thought I might have a problem with my car's sensitivity setting, but Brian suggested a new remote battery instead. My remote, which had been a replacement, came from a competitor's store in Raynham. But when I installed the new battery all hell broke loose. I came back to Brian a week later, and he did me a huge favor. I went to Sound FX to upgrade the audio system in my van. They replaced the factory radio/CD deck with a new unit and installed new speakers. The new radio had poor reception even for local stations. To my complaints about the reception of the new radio, their response was, "Sometimes aftermarket radios do not have as good reception as the factory radios." That was never mentioned as a possible outcome of their installation before I purchased the new deck or speakers. They promised an upgrade of my sound system, but in fact they downgraded it. They tried to install an "antenna booster," but that did not fix the problem. They would not re-install the factory radio or give me credit for the "upgraded" radio deck. Be sure to ask if the tuner you buy from them will work after it is installed. And get them to put in writing. read more

Over the X-mas holiday, we went to Sound FX to have the driver's side and passenger side windows tinted. Sound FX asked if we wanted the tinting to match the shade of the factory tinted windows. We replied yes. My inspection sticker was due to be renewed in April. I received a rejection sticker because they said the driver's side and passenger side windows were too dark; we would have to reduce the tint by 30%. When we called Sound FX to ask them what we could do they said take it off it's illegal. Why would they sell and install something on my vehicle that was illegal? We spent almost two hundred dollars and now we have to remove it! We should have been advised before installation. I will never go back or advise any one to go there! read more

DO YOURSELF A BIG FAVOR AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! Because I went here to have a Kenwood stereo/navigation system with cameras installed which I had already purchased on line. They told me I needed an install kit etc. which I purchased from them no problem. BUT when they brought me out to show me my car after the install they showed me how a couple of the stereo features worked, said I needed to come back because they were missing a cable and then I asked why the stereo was cocked at an angle and not square in the dash and the USB input was also crammed against one side they said it could be fixed but it would take a while or they could fix it when I came back to finish the side camera install which I hesitantly agreed to. Then I put the car in reverse to leave and saw that the backup camera that they had just installed was a complete blurrrr and they never said a word. So I went back inside to show them that too which they said must be a faulty camera but they would look at that too when I came back. On my way home I noticed my side mirror where they put one of the cameras , was loose and shaking. In the week I waited to come back I contacted the backup camera manufacturer who assured me the problem was the install and was probably because of the silicone they coated it with or cleaned the lens with after. To make a long story short I went back, after they finished installing the side cameras, retightening the mirror, recalibrating the backup camera that was still too blurry to see, they had to take it back in again to straighten the unit that was cocked to the side and center the USB input again like they were supposed to. Follow up to my Two star review... Been two weeks since Car Starter install. Wife asked me why the car doesn't beep the horn when she locks the doors with her new remote like it used to.... Answer from Sound FX.... we should have asked them before installation. I then ask if there is a users guide or owners manual for our new alarm...Answer from SoundFX... Go the Manufacturers website on-line... Ok I will do that..... GUESS WHAT the Alarm we had installed and purchased at Sound FX is DISCONTINUED big surprise there.. Poor customer service, lack of technical skill and knowledge. Bought a remote car starter as a gift. At the time of sale needed a lot of "extras" due to the vehicle model, which is a 2014, (not brand new), paid for "extras". At time of sale, assured by sales associated would be no problem to install and they had "done a ton" of the same vehicle make/model. Day of installation, 3 hours after dropping off the vehicle. "Sorry, we can't put it in this car" with absolutely no explanation or apology. In essence, a complete and total waste of time. Have you ever paid $300 to have a radio installed, only to find out that you will not be able to see the radio screen and therefore control the radio? Me neither. Until now. This place is highly unprofessional and does not know customer service. Charismatic is the opposite of what these guys are. They offer a hint of friendliness only if you are offering them your money. They installed my radio and then later told me that because of the way my car dashboard is, I won't be able to see the screen due to glare. Fantastic, good to know $300 later. This is like buying a TV and then later finding out you can't change the channels with the remote, only the TV itself. When I came back a month later (today) to have it somehow fixed or compensated, I waited a half hour to be told there was nothing they could do. When *I* thanked *them* and walked out, I wasn't even offered a "goodbye" or "have a nice day". I would not recommend this establishment to anyone. I had a pair of aftermarket speakers and stereo installed. I found the service to be below par- substantally so. I waited for three weeks for an install appointment. The guy said that it would take about two hours to install. Unfortunately, he failed to mention that they would need my car all day. This was a major inconvenience as I had plenty else to do that day. I have spoken to about three employees and every one of them had a "whatever" attitude, as if they would not cross the street to help you out. Also, one of my speakers was vibrating after a few months, so I made an appointment for them to check it out. Of course, I had to wait two weeks. After keeping my car for four hours, they called and said they didn't hear anything. Argh. I was so aggravated that I brought my car somewhere else to have the speaker fixed. Let me first start off my review by saying "Thank you to Nick"!!! Nick was extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and most of all, a good listener. Nick guided and explained to me every single detail that was going to be done to my vehicle prior and after the installation. I told him as to what I wanted my vehicle to do and he walked me through my options. To make a long story short, I had a Pioneer AVH-4200NEX installed on a 2005 Toyota Camry. Mind you, this Camry did have the JBL Premium factory sound system, but it DID NOT have Bluetooth, nor did it even have a AUX jack. I could not take this anymore, A quick ride to Sound FX and a few days later, my vehicle is now boasting a powerful sound system. Nick also explained that I would need a steering wheel adapter so I do not lose the controls on the steering wheel (GENIUS). After speaking to him about other options, I decided to put a backup camera in as well, another item I am pleased with. Bottom line, you get what you pay for! They ordered the wrong one; they charged for installation and synchronizing and told me it's not returnable(it's a specialty product apparently) and it doesn't even work, it's the wrong one!
