Happily, OK CLEANERS had mostly high ratings. So off I went with mounds of clothes. My immediate impression - this place is CLEAN so it MUST be well managed. Phew! I LOVE A CLEAN dry cleaner...I can't really trust one that looks like a pigsty - believe me, they exist. (And why are they still in business? Maybe it's just me). Once I arrived I was welcomed with smiles and engaging personalities - making me feel right at home. That tends to goes along with people who respect where they work and the person that manages them. David, the owner - along with all the staff I met was courteous, professional. David went above and beyond for me and I will be a return customer. It's OK from now on.

I took it home and did it myself. Ok, ok, in all honesty, I took my newly clean pants home and hung them in the closet where they are waiting patiently for me to get around to sewing that button back on. "Eddie: Do you hold a grudge against Montgomery Burns? Moe: No. [buzz] Moe: All right, maybe I did. But I didn't shoot him. [ding] Eddie: Checks out. Okay, sir. You're free to go. Moe: Good, 'cause I got a hot date tonight. [buzz] Moe: A date. [buzz] Moe: Dinner with friends. [buzz] Moe: Dinner alone. [buzz] Moe: Watching TV alone. [buzz] Moe: All right! I'm going to sit at home and ogle the ladies in the Victoria's Secret catalog. [buzz] Moe: Sears catalog. [ding]" Anyway, this dry cleaning/tailoring place has nice employees. I am always a little uneasy when people are SOOO friendly, after all this is New York, and I wondered a little if maybe when I left they'd badmouth me. Well it doesn't really matter as long as the dry cleaning is clean, and it was, so hey. Weird thing that not too many other dry cleaning places do in this neighborhood-- these guys ask for a name, address and phone number. I'm like what?! The other place down the block knows me only as "Pink Number 9024" and I like it that way. So I told a little white lie and gave a 30 Rock character's name as my name. But I gave my real phone number cause you know, I gotta stay in touch with the place that has joint custody of my $50 pants. The address I declined to give. After all, we do live in a post-apocalyptic John Tyneresque world and I have to guard my remaining liberties carefully. Don't tread on my dry cleaning!!!

I was told…read moreto pick it up two days later and when I got there it wasn't ready and I was told to come back at closing. When I picked up the dress I was shocked by the horrible sloppy work. They destroyed the dress sleeves. Uneven hems, sloppy sewing lines, strings everywhere, jagged pieces sticking out and glue had been ironed on the wool crepe. They knew this and still had the nerve to have me pay and not say a word! I am not going to speculate why they thought it was okay to do this. Why they thought I deserved and would accept this level of workmanship. I would be ashamed to send this off with a customer. Let alone a customer who paid a lot of money. I showed them pics of what I wanted when I dropped it off. If they couldn't do it or thought it might be too hard let me know I would have taken it somewhere else. This is a brand new dress ruined! The moment they messed up on the first sleeve they should have stopped, apologized, suggest I take it to a more skillful tailor and not charged me. These pics are taken at the counter of the dry cleaner. I will never trust them with a single piece of clothing again and will make sure to warn everyone else I know.

Once the change in management happened, the customer service has gone down. Though it is a low cost option, it doesn't need to treat its customers in the way they do. When there is issues with the laundry or payment, the store refuses to call they have the driver call with half the information. If you are bold enough to take the customers' money, you should be equally as bold to call the customer if their an issue. This is not how you do business. Especially one who has stood by the business through their transition. The worse if it is the person they have answering the phones doesn't even know how to explain the situation either. They don't do payments and it is someone else who does it. Its very frustrating when the service you are paying your money to complete a task doesn't know how to communicate to their clients. That is bad business practice.

Upon pickup, I removed the plastic to discover not one, not two, but five large snags and pulls in the front of the gown, unraveling much of the knitting and floral print. The dress is destroyed. Not to mention the belt had a new stain as well with no explanation. My husband brought the garment back over to the shop and the owner shrugged his shoulders and was kinda like "oh, looks like they caught it. Oh well." They did not offer a refund, a reimbursement for the gown, not even an apology. Nothing. No remorse. As it turns out they send every garment to be dry cleaned at another factory in Queens with no oversight or quality control, and not much of a care for what happens to their customers' belongings. If you need something cleaned and pressed that you don't care about, by all means hand it over to Dynasty. But if you need someone to care for an investment piece, garment, or heirloom you care about -- stay far away. I will never bring another item of clothing to Dynasty Cleaners ever again.
