Review of Aunt Vonda's / Plated Soul by Vonda - 1.5/10…read more I ordered from Aunt Vonda's (Plated Soul by Vonda) on DoorDash last night. This was my first time trying it because the prices always seemed a bit high, and unfortunately, the experience confirmed that hesitation. First, the location is confusing for a first-time customer. When you drive to the front, the sign says to go around to the side, but there's no clear direction on where exactly to enter. It shouldn't feel like a scavenger hunt just to pick up food. When I did walk in, the strong smell of weed was immediately noticeable. I understand that some people smoke, but a restaurant should never force customers to smell that--especially when they're coming to pick up or eat food. It's just common courtesy. There were three other patrons waiting when I entered, and no employees in sight. We all commented on how long we were waiting. It took about 10 minutes before anyone even came out of the back. One woman actually walked out before being helped. Even once staff appeared, there was no sense of urgency. Two ladies at the bar were sitting with empty glasses, and the employees were moving extremely slowly. When the take-out server finally came out, she helped the woman next to me and completely ignored me--no "I'll be right with you," no acknowledgment at all. When she eventually gave me my bag, she just put it on the bar. Not even a simple "Thank you" or "Have a good night." As for the food: I had to wait 25-30 minutes after the "ready" notification, plus the 10-minute drive home. By the time I got it, the fish (whiting) was soggy. I ended up air-frying it just to make it somewhat edible. The seasoning was basically nonexistent, and the pieces near the skin were inedible. I also ordered mac and cheese and cinnamon sweet potatoes. I didn't eat the sweet potatoes, but someone else did and said they were good--the only positive of the whole meal. The mac and cheese looked like it had been sitting out since morning. It had no flavor, and the sauce had separated, which made the cheese curdled and grainy. Between the atmosphere, the lack of professionalism, the poor service, and the quality of the food, I would never return. This is food I could easily make at home for cheaper and far better. Final rating: 1.5 out of 10--and that's only for the sweet potatoes. I do not recommend this place.

Best Breakfast Place in Lancaster County for a reason!…read more Coffee flights-AMAZING! Their bacon platter (I just got the Irish Bacon) is also AMAZING! Their simple eggs, toast, potatos and bacon are perfectly made with local ingredients. Their French toast was both sweet and savory! You can't go wrong here. The service is always great, friendly servers everywhere doing whatever it takes to make your dining experience incredible. The location is massive. Seating everywhere. They deal with the popularity very well. Love the catch phrases and good intuitions written all over the chalkboard walls! 10/10 place and Highly recommend!

The menu is massive too. Many bacon options, including that yummy bacon jam. Prices are not diner friendly and depending on the item, the portions are not worth the price. I had a special (Shakshuka) and the biggest item in the dish was a loaf of bread. Tasty bread but the eggs were not baked and simply over super easy. Small skillet too. If not for the bread, I'd be leaving starving. The Gracie's Breakfast was more reasonable and served with a side, banana bread too. Large OJ (yes, fresh squeezed) $7.32! $125 with 22% tip for a party of four for breakfast is simply too much. Not sure I'll return. They won't struggle without me.

I love coming to this restaurant. But this time traveling to Lancaster, I was sad to find out that…read morethey relocated to another spot not too far away from the old location. LOCATION: This new location sits on the second floor of a building. Steps are pretty narrow, so I can't imagine the elderly being able to climb a flight and a half of steps to enjoy such delicacies. So the new location is absolutely beautiful and more fancy than their old location. I love the ambiance. I went there on a Saturday at approximately 4:00 p.m. and there was Zero clientele. It seems like this place may have lost a lot of customers due to the location being on the second floor, but I could be wrong. I'll be honest, very clean, well lit with many slits of skyline above. I love the decor it still reminds me of Old San Juan, along with the Spanish music playing in the background. FOOD: amazing as always, even though I was struggling because they removed one of my favorite dishes from the menu, which was ropa Vieja. You get a lot of food on your plate, and all of the dishes are very flavorful and cook to order. CUSTOMER SERVICE: I love how attentive the staff were even though we were the only ones in the place. The waitress is very knowledgeable about the dishes and extremely accommodating. I wanted something simple to drink like a lemonade, and they made me some from scratch, so I was so thankful. I would definitely recommend coming to this place if you're looking for authentic San Juan dishes
