Triangle Vinyl is a great place to seek out a couple of records and there is something definitely cool about wandering and just flipping through the records. Maybe it is a sign of getting older when you find yourself yearning for the times that you knew in your yesterdays and you find yourself believing those times were the best. Regardless of it being that I am getting older or whatever the case, I found my time here at Triangle Vinyl made me recall those bygone days. Triangle Vinyl is a fantastic business to head towards and spend a bit of time in there. I will give it five stars overall.

They have a huge selection of used records, but you definitely have to come with patience to look through every single bin to see if you might find a gem or some thing that you want to add to your collection. I don't have a lot of vinyls but I would definitely buy some from Steve's if I needed them since the pricing seems fair. They also have great wall banners for sale and plenty of CD's. If you're looking for something specific just ask Steve for help because this store is jam packed full of music. Steve was super friendly and informed me if there was something I specifically wanted he could get it for me. I didn't find anything I wanted on this visit; however, the last two times I was here I purchased a few CDs from his clearance shelf for $1 each without a scratch on them, not bad at all. If you are looking for a new, used, or unique vinyl or just want to burn some time checking out a great record store while shopping in DeLand, then I highly recommend stopping in if you're in the area.

There are a few spots in front of the shop and in the small strip mall plaza - if you go during a non-peak time, it's easy to find a spot. Prices vary on items in the shop and I saw a mix of eras and item types. There's something in almost every section of the small location, but the space didn't feel crammed, junky, or too claustrophobic to explore. Nothing caught my eye when I went in there, but the guy working there was friendly and left us to browse on our own. I feel the majority of the items were a little more retro than vintage when I went in there. (I tend to associate vintage with 30 years and older - I felt I saw more late 80s to early 2000s items in the shop than true vintage in a way.)

They have tons and tons of cards available- everything from Magic the Gathering, YuGiOh, Pokemon and even Disney. We picked up a Pokemon Celebrations ETB and a few sleeved singles and one graded card. Thankfully while Pokemon cards are pretty much sold out everywhere this shop carries a great selection of ETBs, singles (even vintage!), Figure Sets, Battle Sets everything! Pricing is reasonable (only slightly higher than MSRP) but good luck trying to get anything in stock at a nationwide retailer. The nostalgia this store invokes is real- would definitely recommend a visit!

I've been coming to Maya Books and Music for years and always find something good when I stop in…read more The store is clean, orderly, and the book sections are clearly displayed; however, it doesn't hurt to ask for help from the owner, she knows where everything is. On my most previous visit I was looking specifically for piano sheet music, and the owner informed me they were upstairs in a basket under the W-X & Y-Z section of Rock CD's, and sure enough, they were exactly where she said they were. Luckily for me I found two books in great condition - Bach Short Preludes and Fugues for the Piano for $3.95 and Bella Bartok Mikrokosmos Piano Solo Vol III for $3.50, great deal! There is also a variety of other instrument sheet music for clarinet, trumpet, guitar, mandolin, and more in this section. They have a great variety of used music CD's and Vinyl's upstairs for sale at a reasonable price. I've purchased CD's from here for $4 and less, but some could be higher if they are rare or brand new in the cellophane wrap. I haven't purchased any Vinyl's but they do have a decent selection. There are also a variety of posters and old collectable magazines here for sale, which is cool. I actually have some of the Guitar Magazine ones they are selling for $25 and more. The owner informed me that she acquired a much larger store in another state and will have a lot more books and other items coming after the New Year, so be sure to stop in and see what they have to offer. Something to note is the owner is not flexible with pricing so I don't recommend trying to get a better price by buying multiple items and talking her down, it just wont work. Another thing is there is really nowhere to sit down to read for a few minutes to see if you want to buy a book your interested in, even if you try, you quickly become crowded in by other shoppers trying to get around you. All-in-all, Maya Books and Music provide a fun shopping experience if you're a book lover and just happen to be in Downtown Sanford Shopping. I highly recommend stopping in to check them out.

I have found some wonderful books here and if you go upstairs you'll find all sorts of records. To me the books are well priced, and the owner is always so so welcoming! Before writing my review I did read some other reviews about people trying to ask for price matching, which honestly I find weird to do with a small book shop (do it to the corporate businesses, not the small shops - but that's just my opinion). I also don't think the owner does price matching or accept any haggling as I did overhear her telling a couple she did not. Anyways a great book shop to visit and if you love to support local shops, this is one to visit and support!
