He spent at least 25 min. examining the ring done right in front of us. There was no charge. He also purchased a mens ring that I no longer wear at a very reasonable amount. I was very impressed with the father/son who own the business. So while I was waiting on an estimate for a bracelet: a man came in to sell silver items. The owner asked him how much he thought it was all worth. The man guessed at $300. The owner said no much more, and gave him $700 for the items. These people are absolutely amazing. I went in after going to a separate jewelry store right down the street. The first jewelry store offered me $300 for a yellow and white gold bracelet that I had. Obviously I was in need of some money for some bills after coming to the store, they explained to me that the jewelry was worth over $800 and that they would give me 600 for it I also have them appraise some other items that the first jewelry store looked at compared to the first jewelry store. The appraisals were way higher. The items were worth a lot more than Mary's jewelry right down. The street gave me appraisals for I recommend the store to anyone looking to take their golden and get the best value for it. read more

I am new to the area and was looking for a reputable jeweler to help me identify pieces I inherited and to give me an estimate for insurance. Frank Jr. helped me and was awesome he identified what would need insurance appraisals on and what did not. ( I had a lot of pieces) but they took the time with me. Very professional, personal and honest. His father Frank was also there and was of this same character. I still need to go back for an appointment for insurance appraisals which I am working into my schedule. I would recommend them to anyone who ask for a jewelry store. Very please!!! I recently sent my crystal glasses and collectables to this business for repair. Since I was shipping a took extra care to assure that all items were wrapped in bubble wrap and separate in order that they did not arrive broken. Once the repair was completed the repaired items were sent back and not wrapped properly. Instead that were placed in my same box but not protected. What has resulted is 6 out of the 11 cocktail glasses damaged and the large collectable damaged too. The service here was poor and unless I called them I never heard from them. I stumbled upon them at Renniger's and immediately found them personable and professional. I ended up not only purchasing (which was not in the cards when I left home) but purchasing more than I care to admit. The quality, variety, and pricing is unbelievable. A week later I went to their shop to pick up my sized purchases and ended up buying more! If this was just any estate jewelry store I wouldn't have purchased a thing...at their booth or store. The proprietors make the difference. When I went to the store, I brought jewelry from home to be appraised. The overall experience was professional and the independent appraiser was very knowledgeable. He took his time with me and helped me understand how values are derived. If you're looking for a certified gemologist to appraise your jewelry (as I was), you can't go wrong here. Frank Jr is highly trained and also young and personable. The price of about $10 per piece for an informal appraisal - not written - was very reasonable to me. He was thorough with his investigation of every piece and took time to check and double check everything. I learned a lot about diamonds, gold, and pearls. The store itself specializes in estate pieces, both jewelry and other items. If I was looking for a special piece and want to deal with some nice people this is the first place I'd go. read more

I had the best experience when needing my wedding ring fixed. Went in and the owner's son waited on me, he was very professional and kind. He took pictures of my ring to show me what needed done, with a through explanation, got my ring back when he said it would be ready. They did a beautiful job. They had a person there that did fantastic pictures on the spot in an 8x10 format in 30 seconds!! The posters he did were incredibly detailed, background music he played was jazz and very, very nice, the people running the show were rude to him and told him he could NOT PLAY MUSIC, NOR COULD HE USE A MICROPHONE TO ADVERTISE HIMSELF OR THE OTHER VENDORS AROUND HIM THAT ENJOYED WHAT HE WAS DOING,otherwise the atmosphere was DEAD, I MEAN IT WAS SO UNIQUE WHAT HE WAS DOING, but I guess it was a black and white thing seeing he was a person of color doing a great job, they felt it necessary to hold him back? I entered into a discussion of trading a diamond ring for a diamond ring with the owner of this establishment. I then asked if we could agree upon a third-party to appraise both pieces and he refused. He said they were experienced and could be trusted to appraise both pieces. He then went on to say that if I took it outside to be appraised after I paid him that he would refund me in cash any difference.
