One of the largest collections of new and old vinyl i've ever seen in one shop. Mike was so nice and showed us the layout of the store right when we entered and is clearly very passionate about music and preserving physical forms of media! The vinyls were all priced at a fairly regular rate compared to other store, the sheer volume of vinyl offered was what truly sold me though. I will absolutely be back!

I surprised my mom with a record player for Christmas mainly because of this wonderful record shop! She had been wanting a record player for quite some time but just never made the buy. I remembered we had this gem located in Daytona off International and made the leap. We recently relocated back to the area and where we were living didn't have a record shop. I decided to give it to her early but also take her shopping to get her own records. The gentleman here are extremely helpful and know where everything is. They know bands, artists, live concerts and so on. The wealth of musical knowledge is outstanding! We will shop here for all of our record needs. They even have cds and tape cassettes if you can remember those lol. They also sell posters, old record players and an assortment of other musical needs.

During the 1980's and 90's the music industry began treating vinyl records as a dying format to be replaced by CDs and later MP3s. During that time many artists followed the trend, the result being that now there are years that an artists recorded work isn't even available in a vinyl format. During this time descerning music fans stuck with LP's despite the record industry moguls treating them like dinosaurs. These fans were persistent. That's why all across America there are record stores that remained throughout nurturing a community of record album collectors. Atlantic Sounds is among these beacons to vinyl junkies. Owner Mike and his staff, have withstood trends and dire predictions for nearly 40 years to create a solid community of record hounds in and around the Daytona Beach area, They know their stuff too, Genres, old, new, rock, jazz, country, and even Christmas records; they have it all And in good condition too. Priced fair, and they're in the business of selling records. In recent years, the artists and record labels have embraced the vinyl format allowing stores such as Atlantic Sounds to continue to exist. This year has been devastating to not only Atlantic Sounds but to each and every record store in America. For years they have relied on Record Store Days which are industry and artist driven days when they release limited edition runs of both new and classic music, These would make up to 50% of a store's income for a year sustaining a niche industry, allowing them to continue to service the music fan. They also have an audio gear section that features some old vintage receivers, turntables and speakers. All primo stuff My record store travels have brought me to many places, Amoeba Records on Haight Street in San Francisco, Waterloo in Austin, TX, Twist and Shout in Denver, and MediumRare in Sacramento to name a couple of my favorite vinyl haunts, There are even a couple of great record stores within an hours drive of Atlantic Sounds. Atlantic Sounds isn't the kind of store like I mentioned above, however, they offer a little bit of heaven for vinyl fanatics in the neighborhood. And that ain't a bad thing....

Atlantic Sounds is downright awesome, and pure heaven for those looking for older or rare vinyls, DVD's, CD's or promotional posters. The collection is beyond belief but what it better is the proprietor, Michael. Michael is literally a walking encyclopedia of legendary or historical music and knows where everything within the store is located. I've been to a lot of so-called "vinyl stores" but have never seen a gem like Atlantic Sounds. So if you are looking for something rare, historic or legendary in recorded music, this is the place. Five Stars.

The best record store around hands down. Great staff, selection and prices! We were greeted by the owner before we even walked into the store and he and his staff are very friendly and welcoming. The selection of vinyl is great and so are the prices. Just go there, you will be happy!

This place is amazing. I was pressed for time when I stopped in so I will definitely be back whenever I'm anywhere near Daytona, I should move to Daytona just to be near this place, I can't wait to go back. The sights, the smells, the atmosphere, everything you could ever want in a used record store.

I've been going to this place since I was in high school. Somethings are better when they don't change and this place has never changed.

Great place to find good records, they always have either a sale going on, or pretty awesome finds…read morein the dollar bin. The only drawback is how far away the store is from my house lol. We typically spend about an hour or two in the store and leave spending about $30 on records. The location is very small, but they make good use of the space. Will definitely be back!

Groovy Records is a great little record store located in the downtown Deland area. Not only do they…read morehave a ton of Vinyl for sale but they also have a decent variety of CD's, Tape cassettes, and even some 8 tracks. Groovy Records also sells new and used turntables, guitars, basses, ukuleles, amp's, music accessories such as guitar strings, banners, other memorabilia, and a variety of instructional music books for piano, guitar, and other instruments. I found a few used CDs in decent condition (with original inserts) for $1 each, which is a great deal. I'm not a Vinyl collector, mainly because I just don't have the room to store them. One thing I noticed while I was here is that two of my all-time favorite bands, Mercyful Fate and Iron Maiden Vinyls were a bit pricy. I'm not sure if it's because they are from the original production during that era or if they are just hard to come by. Mercyful Fate's Don't Break the Oath is selling for $175 and Melissa is selling for $150. Iron Maiden's Number of the Beast is selling for $100. Damn, I'm a big fan, but I couldn't justify spending that much money on a Vinyl. Alternatively, not everything here is that expensive. They are selling many other great Vinyl's in the $10-$20 price range. If you are shopping in the area, I definitely recommend stopping in to see if you can find a deal.
