Easily is one of my favorite coffee shops in Manhattan! The espresso here is just perfect!! I normally get an iced cortado here and it never misses. If you're looking for something fun, the maple cinnamon iced latte is so delicious!! The service is always very quick and the baristas are very efficient. There's minimal seating inside but you can get lucky to get a spot to sit, which I personally enjoy doing when I am not in a rush. I come often and will definitely continue to come back. read more

We were in the neighborhood for lunch and needed a quick pick me up. Found this place online so came in to have coffee on a weekend afternoon. We ordered a few drinks and I specifically got the iced americano. It was good and while it was definitely busy, we were able to grab a seat to enjoy our drinks. It's a nice small cute cafe which can be crowded but I appreciated that there were enough seating inside so it wasn't too long before we got a table. Nice spot to grab coffee in UWS. read more

There's a single stall bathroom in the back. I got an iced vanilla latte and it was fine. Nothing special. I wish it was a little bit sweeter but I needed a little pick me up so it gave me that. Very cute cafe in bustling UWS on Amsterdam. I got the iced lavender latte, and they did decaf which was fantastic, and it was super delicious. But I didn't taste the lavender at all! I didn't mind too much because I enjoyed it but it did taste like just an iced mocha, not sure if they gave me the wrong thing. There's a good amount of seating, pretty quiet for working, wi-fi, tables were a tad small for working and putting a drink down. Solid work spot or place to catch up. read more

4.5 stars, I think the only thing I would take off a little is that there isn't a huge food menu - I admit I've probably gotten spoiled by some coffee shops offering a full menu! But, Sote does have some pastries, so you won't go totally hungry there. The storefront is cute and I wouldn't say it's tons of seating but it was enough on the day and time that I went (on a weekday). They also have a restroom and an area for customers to get water. I find the drip coffee too strong or too bitter at a lot of coffee shops, probably because I'm used to making it at home and using sweet creamers. At Sote I had coffee with half-and-half and it tasted great - strong enough but not bitter at all. I even went back to buy a second cup. read more

Great ambiance! It's a cozy shop with small tables for seating. I was lucky enough to grab a table and spend some time here. There's free WiFi which is a plus, but not too many outlets. I ordered their gingerbread latte which was a special. I thought it was perfectly sweet and delicious. It was the perfect drink for a cold January afternoon. 4.5 stars. I think I must have walked by this coffee shop several times in the past couple of months before I finally realized it was there. The front is quite unassuming, and it doesn't help that it's almost hidden by all the scaffolding on the street. It was a nice surprise going inside, and seeing how lovely and inviting the interior was. The plants, small wooden café tables, leather sofa and various framed pictures gave the shop a cozy, laid back vibe. It's no wonder that there were many patrons there during my visit. They have a small menu of specialty coffee and a small selection of pastries. I ordered Banana Bread ($5.50), Carrot Cake ($5), Blueberry Scone ($5) and an Americano ($4) to go. The coffee was full bodied and smooth. Exactly what a needed on that cold day while waiting for the bus. Both the Banana Bread and Carrot Cake were good, but I really enjoyed the Blueberry Scone. It was dense but light and had a nice crispy crust. Prices are also quite reasonable IMO. It's really nice to see small, independently owned coffee shops like this one instead of more Starbucks. Really cute coffee shop with great potential, but they need to work on consistency. I ordered a honey latte, and they added the honey first, then ice and milk, and poured the espresso shot on top. As any coffee enthusiast knows, that method doesn't allow the honey to dissolve properly--it hardens and doesn't mix well. The milk-to-coffee ratio also felt off, and on our last visit, the coffee tasted burnt. With drinks nearing $8, quality and consistency really matter. If they focus on delivering a consistently great experience, I think they'll do really well. read more
