I highly recommend Sosa Remodeling & Construction. Carmelo and his crew are very responsive, trustworthy, and do great work. Among other things, they remodeled an entire bathroom, redid various electrical items (adding in a four-way switch and upgraded lighting on the first floor), installed a new sink (including a regular faucet and beverage faucet), and added a new washer and dryer unit) including extending the water and gas lines).
Carmelo put in my recessed lighting throughout my house and did an amazing job. I want to thank him and his crew for being so diligent and professional. I look forward to using him again on my next house project.

Absolutely incredible bathroom remodeling experience with Carmelo (Sosa Remodeling and Construction) and his team. Jose (tile master) and Efriam (painting pro) and the rest of the crew were knowledgeable and they kept everything clean and sealed off to eliminate dirt and dust. During the remodel, Carmelo was very helpful with ideas and recommendations to make everything work together seamlessly. Sosa and his team just finished two bathrooms for us this year! They did amazing job with the tiling especially as we were asking them to tile zellige Moroccan tile which can be tricky with the grouting. Even when we made a boo boo and picked the wrong grout color, Carmelo went out of his way to provide cost effective solutions. Carmelo really appreciates quality construction and doesn't take short cuts on his work. His team was always professional in our home and he was responsive via email or phone call.

We recently remodeled our home. It was a big project and it took a year! We feel very fortunate that we met Carmelo (referred from a neighbor that also did a remodel with his company) - while no one that ever does a large project, where they need to relocate and demolish their home, will ever say the experience was easy or without small setbacks or miscommunications. The most important thing you can find in a business partner is someone that you can trust. Someone that will come up with solutions that seem fair, someone that is honest and someone that stands behind their work. Sosa remodeling is that company. Carmelo is an honest broker and the guys that work for him are good people and hard workers. I will always be thankful to Carmelo and his crew; Will, Isaak, Jefferey, Jose and Efrain (apologies if I've forgotten anyone!)
My Contractor search started the last week the year 2020. I went on Yelp and put together a spreadsheet of 23 local Contractors that would potentially take on our Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) project. I would say I spent a good two weeks interviewing and meeting with various contractors. I met approximately 8 contractors in person of the 23. My list was sorted by how many times a contractor was reviewed, how many stars they have and cost. After two weeks of interviews, I chose Carmelo Sosa for the project. He was 1 of 2 contractors that met me personally, all the other contractors sent me their project manager which pretty much wasted my time. First Impression: The first time Carmelo met us, he was not only on time but he was waiting in the car before our scheduled appointment. Compared to the other contractors who sent out their project manager in suits, Carmelo came as himself, the contractor. No suits, tie, no gimmicks, he wants the job and not just my money. He reminded me of my team at work, he is the one who does the job. During the Project: Let's just say it was difficult to get permits during the pandemic, I don't blame Carmelo for this as my friends who has friends that are contractors did warn me ahead of time of the time constraint with LADBS and just the process itself. The pandemic definitely held up our timeline but was expected. I would say in the beginning, I was curious why Carmelo didn't have a pen and paper to write down our concerns and requests. Sometimes there were little things missed where I had to remind his team, but he surely is quick to answer my calls, "day and night", and I never had to tell myself "this guy isn't picking up my calls", he was ALWAYS available and would not rush the conversation about the project. His customer service is much better than the other contractors I have dealt with during my interview process. Overall, I can't complain, this is simply an honest review. Carmelo's team always came early and worked the days that the weather allowed them too. I believe it took his team 10 months to complete our 2-Story ADU project of 3 Bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms. Choice of Materials, fixtures, etc. Carmelo doesn't like cheap stuff, I was afraid he was going to have me choose cheap finishes, brands etc. for our bathroom, flooring and tiles. Nope, that was not the case, he wanted to make sure we were happy and allowed us to tell him what would work for us. Obviously if an item was just too expensive, we would simply pay the difference. I have no issues with what was offered to us. Although this review is late and I can probably go on forever, I want to Thank Carmelo and his team for building our new ADU home, I want to say we were one of his first larger ADU projects and it was a success. If you are in the Northridge or Reseda or San Fernando Valley and even beyond, Carmelo is your guy! I will surely hire him for future projects when the money comes!
We had Sosa and his crew come down to take a look and remodel our super old bathroom. I wish I had taken before pictures, this bathroom looks like a whole new world! It came out pristine and my wife absolutely loved everything. Please if you need someone who listens and is willing to work out every little detail with you don't hesitate to call Sosa he does an immaculate, high quality job. Price was good the quality was outstanding. I will definitely be recommending Sosa and his crew to anyone looking to remodel or build from scratch.
If you live in the San Fernando Valley and have a major construction project, listen up. We want to share our very positive experience with Sosa Remodeling and Construction. We have found Carmelo and his crew to be one of the best contractors we have ever used. Each workier is a professional - highly skilled and knowledgeable in all areas of construction. Sosa's crew arrives on time, ready to work, and is clean, pleasant and hardworking. We had two major jobs performed by Sosa. The first project was to build a new roof over our patio extending outward from the garage. The second project involved our kitchen floor. Because of a slow leak from our refrigerator the floor and subfloor were badly damaged. A large section of our floor and subfloor had to be torn out and replaced. Each square of quarry tile had to be carefully removed and reset. We are very happy with the results and highly recommend Sosa Remodeling and Construction.

Here's what's so great about these guys: 1. They do quality work. Now that the room is finished and we're using it, we're really happy with how clean all the details look (grout, tiles, etc.) 2. The original contract was less expensive than others we talked to, and when we needed to add some work in the middle of the job, the prices they quoted were also reasonable. 4. Honest. We never felt taken advantage of, which unfortunately can happen when working with some contractors. Carmelo's a good guy who really cares about doing things the right way.

Sosa's team is professional, courteous, and highly qualified to perform any remodeling needs that you have. They remodeled our kitchen and even helped with design ideas, including a beautiful range hood that makes the kitchen pop. While many contractors are qualified, Sosa and team are highly professional, neat and tidy, and respectful of our privacy when they were working when we were around. They are a licensed contractor and worked with city inspectors to ensure that everything is to code and passed inspection. I highly recommended them. read more

We recently had our garage converted into an ADU by Sosa Construction, and we couldn't be happier with the results. From start to finish, Carmelo Sosa and his team were incredible to work with--hardworking, reliable, and truly dedicated to doing great work. Carmelo is extremely responsive--he never missed a single phone call during the entire project, which made communication smooth and stress-free. I recently had the pleasure of working with Sosa Remodeling on a home addition project, and I cannot recommend them enough. After interviewing 5 other contractors, I finally met with Carmelo, the owner of Sosa, and immediately clicked with him. From the beginning, it was clear that Carmelo's top priority was to build our home the way we wanted it, not just make a sale. They were priced very fairly, and he was always looking for ways to save us money without sacrificing quality. Throughout the entire project, Carmelo was collaborative, friendly, and professional. You can tell that he takes a lot of pride in his customer service and craftsmanship and cares deeply about his clients and their project. I felt like we were a team working towards the same goal, which was so important to me. Sosa's crew was always friendly and welcoming towards my children who were excited to watch the construction happening on their home. They took the time to say hello, answer their questions, and even let them watch certain aspects of the project being done. The end result was fantastic. Sosa Remodeling built a beautiful primary suite addition onto our house, and we have received so many compliments from our neighbors. The craftsmanship is of the highest quality, and we couldn't be happier with the outcome. We were so impressed that we had Carmelo build a new wall along our property line, which receives just as many compliments. While our project was initially slated to take 6-8 months, it ended up taking 9 months to complete. However, given the current times, this was completely reasonable, and Carmelo and his team kept us informed every step of the way. They were always transparent with us about the progress of the project, and we felt comfortable with the timeline. One question we often get asked about Carmelo is how many change orders were added to the project. I am happy to report that we only had one change order, and that was due to an error in the original architect's drawings (who was not associated with Sosa). The city inspectors required us to make a change, and Carmelo quickly hired an engineer to make the necessary adjustments. Because of his quick action, our project was saved from what could have been a big delay. Other than that, we didn't have any change orders. Even after the project was finished, I still keep in touch with Carmelo and his team. Our neighbors have hired them so I get to see them often. :) I am already looking forward to the next project with them. Where do I begin? Carmelo is hands down the most honest, ethical, efficient and overall amazing contractor I've ever worked with. His quote was honest and reflected very closely with the final cost I paid. He converted a garage to an ADU and I could not be happier with his work and his vision. His patience and understanding of the trade is amazing. His team is equally amazing! He completed the project sooner than expected. Carmelo loves what he does! No corners were cut. For instance, I did not care for a backsplash or other plus items due to it being a rental. Carmelo did them at no cost due to the pride in his work and the standard he has. That's what is great about him. He does not care where your property is, what you look like, or how much money you have. He respects you! Most of all, he respects his workers and that means a lot in this buisness. I've had excellent communication with Carmelo even though I'm based on the East Coast. When I'm in town or by phone he's always available. He kept me updated with progress and pictures constantly. There were mistakes made by the drafter and engineer that Carmelo corrected as well. He also made sure the inspections went smoothly. There were little things that needed to be addressed, that I may not have noticed, but he did. I just can't say enough about him. He's like family now! It's really hard to find a good contractor but Carmelo is a great one! His price wasn't the lowest but his work is more than worth it! BEST HOUSE on the BLOCK! My goal was to have the best house on the block, and these guys delivered! It all starts with a quote, and it was fair and clear. My wife bumped up some details, but they worked with us to indie we hit a homer run. Today we are waiting looking to wrap up concrete, and plants but are easily best in our neighborhood!!!! We had been thinking about adding two bedrooms in a bathroom to our home for about a year or so. Some contractors never return our calls and the one we did talk to could not meet our needs. As I was walking along the neighborhood I saw the Sosa remodeling sign and decided to write down their phone number and give them a call. This was the best decision we made.Carmelo and all his staff are very caring and dedicated to their work. We absolutely love the results and couldn't be any happier that we found them. read more

Decided to remodel both bathrooms in my house during COVID... so already starting "stressed out". Not to mention having been screwed over SO many times by contractors, that I came in exceptionally weary. But with time on my side, I interviewed A LOT and really got clear on what I wanted to do. I decided to test the waters first and just do a minor remodel on the guest bath; replace the tub, retile the shower and add some niches with the update to the pony wall. It came out SO well and Carmelo's entire crew was respectful, clean and courteous. Seriously, they made sure to set-up properly as to not damage the house and always picked up the space at the end of each day. Having such a great experience with the guest bath I decided SOSA Remodeling & Construction had earned the trust needed to do a full master bath remodel. So, again - even before starting, the crew came in and set-up the space so as to not damage the floors or walls... then we completely gutted the bathroom, rearranged the layout and when a long standing leak was discovered - Carmelo got me the right guys to handle it!!! I honestly have never felt trust with any contractor I've ever worked with before, but Carmelo is upfront, honest and knowledgeable. And his work shows it!!! I am seriously, only ever calling Carmelo moving forward! I know if he can't do it - he will at least be honest about it - then give me a great recommendation to someone who can! It was a pleasure to work with Carmelo and his team on remodeling a bathroom for a rental home. The bathroom came out beautiful and exceeded our expectations, especially the tile work. He and his team care about the quality of the work and were accommodating of our requests. He pointed out things that needed to be taken care of so as not to cause problems later on. His price was very reasonable and he took care of some unexpected items without raising the cost. I don't reside at the home and so it was nice to have someone I could trust to take care of the job without continual oversight. He is very pleasant and his approach greatly reduces the stress of construction projects. Re: ADU conversion. I can't say enough good things about Carmelo and his crew! Over the course of several months they converted my garage into a beautiful studio apartment. Carmelo's knowledge of building requirements, practical applications, and aesthetics were an integral part of the success of this project. We hired Carmelo and his crew for a second time for updates and repairs on our home and he did not disappoint! Carmelo may not be the cheapest, but he is bar far not the most expensive and provides the most value for the investment by far. Part of this is his commitment to do a job right. He's a pro at fixing the mistakes and cover-ups by previous owners/builders/contractors. We hired Carmelo to remove the old, non working fireplace and chimney in our home and replace it with a kitchen peninsula that matched all the existing material (cabinets, etc) He went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect and we were happy with the results. I have recommended Carmelo to friends and they have thanked me but all the thanks goes to him for being a true professional. read more

Carmelo strikes again! This is my 2nd review for Carmelo and 2nd time using him for major home improvements. This time he completely remodeled our main guest bathroom, added Spanish steps to our front porch, custom built our kitchen nook bench with wainscoting, and custom built our pre-specified doors for our pantry. My wife and I couldn't be happier with the finished products. Two words: quality and versatile. He does it all and does it right. Even if it's something he's never done before, he will scope out the plans with you (but make sure your wants are specific) and execute like it's something he regularly performs. For example, he and his team created a kitchen nook bench from scratch while incorporating an air passage for our floor vent. He also made perfect doors for our pantry to hide away our mess. As for our bathroom, he executed our design flawlessly and gave suggestions to make it look better. This is the 2nd bathroom he's redone for us and the quality hasn't faded a bit. There are some instances when the initial outcome doesn't come out the way we like it and he is so good about working with you to re-do it or rework it to make you happy. That was the case with our pantry doors. Him and his guy spent a day on the first go around which didn't fit the dimensions that we wanted. He came back the next day to re-do it and made it PERFECT! Last thing I'll say is that he's super communicative via text and phone. He's very responsive and always picked up our calls. I shared before and after pictures of our projects. read more

My husband and I purchased our first house last year... and quickly found out the meaning of "shoddy construction". We've had a number of challenges and have dealt with our fair share of contractors who are unresponsive, unreliable, and "don't forsee" additional costs, driving the price of the job up (sometimes by 100%), regardless of the agreed upon price and scope of work. Enter Carmelo (who was a referral). Carmelo was on time, communicative, and very transparent about the scope of the work required - he let me know that while his bid may not be the lowest on first glance, there would be no change orders. Based on the referral, I went with Carmelo and the higher bid, desperate for an ethical contractor who would do a great job - and do the job right. Off the bat, the scope of work changed - upon demo, we realized that the quality of the flip on our house was so much worse than we thought. I was panicking, convinced that we were going to end up with thousands in extra costs, but Carmelo advised that he was true to his word - and never charged me an extra dime. We're not just talking about adding an extra electrical outlet, I am talking about major repairs. Carmelo's fee remained the same, and I would bet that many contractors would have added a line item for everything. On top of all of that, Carmelo is a perfectionist. For example, he noticed that the drain was not quite 6" from the wall (the subfloor was already laid), and he had his guys come in and redo it, to ensure it was up to code. A light fixture was about 3 inches off center (after the drywall AND tile had been laid), they redid it and centered it perfectly. I was also nervous about making decisions and not having budget for a designer - Carmelo always gave me great advice and opinions about "standard" vs what would be appropriate for my use, alternative options for cost savings that would maintain the quality and aesthetic, etc. The quality of his work, and his commitment to ensuring a beautiful end product (that is safe, to code and practical) is beyond any other contractor I've worked with and I can't wait to work with Carmelo again! read more

Sosa remodeling built a new deck for us outside in the patio area. It looks awesome! Made our backyard feel like it's out of a magazine. Carmelo told us exactly what he is planing, explained the framing stage and the extra reinforcement he is planing to do, the work took them less then 1 week!!! read more

Hired Sosa Construction last year to do our bathroom remodel. It turned out absolutely beautiful Carmelo was so knowledgeable he knew exactly how to create a beautiful space. Now we got him back to turn our patio into a family room. We couldn't be happier his work cannot be beat. He is honest and really knows his stuff. We highly recommend Sosa Construction. The bathroom was done on time and the patio room was finished a month early. Can't be happier, so excited to start enjoying our new room. I am attaching before and after pictures. read more

This review is long overdue! We really enjoyed working with Carmelo and his team on our bathroom remodel earlier this year. He was very professional and communicative throughout the whole process. At the beginning of the process, he met with us a few times to really lock down all of the important details. He helped us measure the space and told us how much of each type of tile we needed to buy. His team picked up the tile and vanities as soon as they were ready for pick up. They prepped our space the day before they started any work so that they could be sure the surrounding areas were as protected as they could be. Any time something unexpected popped up (as they tend to do in any construction project), he discussed all the options with us so we could pick the best way forward. The tilework is especially exceptional. Carmelo wanted to make sure even the smallest details were taken care of. One of our shelving units was backordered and didn't arrive until weeks after the rest of the bathroom was finished but Carmelo made sure to come back and help us hang it up. He does not want to leave things unfinished and that was greatly appreciated! One of my main concerns was matching two vanity tops. Carmelo helped us through that, he found two different options for us with different price points and we chose what worked for us. We were so happy he helped us find something that worked! We never felt like we were on our own when choosing materials. At the end of the project, in the space where they had been storing their gear, the walls had been nicked up a bit but Carmelo and his team made sure to fix that with a fresh coat of paint before they were done. If you're looking for the right contractor for your next home improvement project, look no further - Carmelo Sosa is hands down the best contractor we have worked with and you should too. We worked with Carmelo and his team on a couple projects - first, laying down wood-look porcelain tile on our front porch and second, a small remodel of one of our bathrooms. Both turned out beautiful!! He's super friendly, professional and has a great eye for detail. He doesn't cut any corners and strives to deliver the highest quality product. And, he's very fair on pricing! We will definitely work with him again in the future!! read more

We hired Sosa construction two fix all the wood trim and stucco around our house and paint. Carmelo and his team which includes Willie and Fernando were amazing. They were able to make our home look new again. Not one time did they try to do a change order or an upsell. Very respectful of our time and budget, which is very uncommon in this field. True integrity and excellent craftsmanship. I look forward to working with them again in the future. read more
