I highly recommend Sosa Remodeling & Construction. Carmelo and his crew are very responsive, trustworthy, and do great work. Among other things, they remodeled an entire bathroom, redid various electrical items (adding in a four-way switch and upgraded lighting on the first floor), installed a new sink (including a regular faucet and beverage faucet), and added a new washer and dryer unit) including extending the water and gas lines).

This is the 2nd time I've used Carmelo and his team and I will be using them going forward. He communicates very well and his team's work is of great quality. I just bought a house that will need a number of renovations, and I'm excited to have Carmelo and his team help me reimagine my home.

Carmelo put in my recessed lighting throughout my house and did an amazing job. I want to thank him and his crew for being so diligent and professional. I look forward to using him again on my next house project.

Absolutely incredible bathroom remodeling experience with Carmelo (Sosa Remodeling and Construction) and his team. Jose (tile master) and Efriam (painting pro) and the rest of the crew were knowledgeable and they kept everything clean and sealed off to eliminate dirt and dust. During the remodel, Carmelo was very helpful with ideas and recommendations to make everything work together seamlessly. I am very happy with my new bathroom, thank you Carmelo and everyone Sosa Remodeling and Construction.

We knew we had to hire Sosa Remodeling & Construction for our kitchen and laundry remodel since he had done such a great job on our previous room + bathroom additions. We couldn't be more pleased with the results! From start to finish, his professionalism, attention to detail, and dedication to quality were evident. He was always available to answer our questions day & night! He made our dream kitchen a reality. Would definitely hire him again for any future projects

Sosa and his team just finished two bathrooms for us this year! They did amazing job with the tiling especially as we were asking them to tile zellige Moroccan tile which can be tricky with the grouting. Even when we made a boo boo and picked the wrong grout color, Carmelo went out of his way to provide cost effective solutions. Carmelo really appreciates quality construction and doesn't take short cuts on his work. His team was always professional in our home and he was responsive via email or phone call.

We recently remodeled our home. It was a big project and it took a year! We feel very fortunate that we met Carmelo (referred from a neighbor that also did a remodel with his company) - while no one that ever does a large project, where they need to relocate and demolish their home, will ever say the experience was easy or without small setbacks or miscommunications. The most important thing you can find in a business partner is someone that you can trust. Someone that will come up with solutions that seem fair, someone that is honest and someone that stands behind their work. Sosa remodeling is that company. Carmelo is an honest broker and the guys that work for him are good people and hard workers. I will always be thankful to Carmelo and his crew; Will, Isaak, Jefferey, Jose and Efrain (apologies if I've forgotten anyone!)

Exceptional Contractor! Highly Recommend We recently hired Sosa Remodeling & Construction for a kitchen and laundry remodel and we couldn't be more pleased with the results. From start to finish, his professionalism, attention to detail, and dedication to quality were evident. I would not hesitate to hire him again for future projects.

Carmelo and his team did an incredible job on our kitchen remodel. 10/10 would absolutely recommend Sosa Remodeling, and I personally will only be calling Carmelo for any future projects. He and his team are communicative, timely and extremely hard working. Not to mention they all go out of their way to ensure you're happy at every point of the process. Their craftsmanship is also exceptional. Our home was built in 1916, and we wanted to bring back some of the original detail you might find in an old craftsman house, and their detailed work on the interior and exterior was immaculate. Any remodel can be costly, but Sosa Remodeling is truly a fair price...especially when you realize the quality of work you are receiving. Not to mention Carmelo is a man of his word. If he tells you he is going to do something he means it. He doesn't forget and he doesn't sneak in additional costs. He is upfront, honest and dedicated to a beautiful end result. If you're looking for a contractor who is honest, friendly, skilled and dedicated to your project then Sosa Remodeling is your team no questions asked!

My Contractor search started the last week the year 2020. I went on Yelp and put together a spreadsheet of 23 local Contractors that would potentially take on our Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) project. I would say I spent a good two weeks interviewing and meeting with various contractors. I met approximately 8 contractors in person of the 23. My list was sorted by how many times a contractor was reviewed, how many stars they have and cost. After two weeks of interviews, I chose Carmelo Sosa for the project. He was 1 of 2 contractors that met me personally, all the other contractors sent me their project manager which pretty much wasted my time. First Impression: The first time Carmelo met us, he was not only on time but he was waiting in the car before our scheduled appointment. Compared to the other contractors who sent out their project manager in suits, Carmelo came as himself, the contractor. No suits, tie, no gimmicks, he wants the job and not just my money. He reminded me of my team at work, he is the one who does the job. During the Project: Let's just say it was difficult to get permits during the pandemic, I don't blame Carmelo for this as my friends who has friends that are contractors did warn me ahead of time of the time constraint with LADBS and just the process itself. The pandemic definitely held up our timeline but was expected. I would say in the beginning, I was curious why Carmelo didn't have a pen and paper to write down our concerns and requests. Sometimes there were little things missed where I had to remind his team, but he surely is quick to answer my calls, "day and night", and I never had to tell myself "this guy isn't picking up my calls", he was ALWAYS available and would not rush the conversation about the project. His customer service is much better than the other contractors I have dealt with during my interview process. Overall, I can't complain, this is simply an honest review. Carmelo's team always came early and worked the days that the weather allowed them too. I believe it took his team 10 months to complete our 2-Story ADU project of 3 Bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms. Choice of Materials, fixtures, etc. Carmelo doesn't like cheap stuff, I was afraid he was going to have me choose cheap finishes, brands etc. for our bathroom, flooring and tiles. Nope, that was not the case, he wanted to make sure we were happy and allowed us to tell him what would work for us. Obviously if an item was just too expensive, we would simply pay the difference. I have no issues with what was offered to us. Although this review is late and I can probably go on forever, I want to Thank Carmelo and his team for building our new ADU home, I want to say we were one of his first larger ADU projects and it was a success. If you are in the Northridge or Reseda or San Fernando Valley and even beyond, Carmelo is your guy! I will surely hire him for future projects when the money comes!

Beautiful repair job using the original irreplacable tile

If you live in the San Fernando Valley and have a major construction project, listen up. We want to share our very positive experience with Sosa Remodeling and Construction. We have found Carmelo and his crew to be one of the best contractors we have ever used. Each workier is a professional - highly skilled and knowledgeable in all areas of construction. Sosa's crew arrives on time, ready to work, and is clean, pleasant and hardworking. We had two major jobs performed by Sosa. The first project was to build a new roof over our patio extending outward from the garage. The second project involved our kitchen floor. Because of a slow leak from our refrigerator the floor and subfloor were badly damaged. A large section of our floor and subfloor had to be torn out and replaced. Each square of quarry tile had to be carefully removed and reset. We are very happy with the results and highly recommend Sosa Remodeling and Construction.

We had Sosa and his crew come down to take a look and remodel our super old bathroom. I wish I had taken before pictures, this bathroom looks like a whole new world! It came out pristine and my wife absolutely loved everything. Please if you need someone who listens and is willing to work out every little detail with you don't hesitate to call Sosa he does an immaculate, high quality job. Price was good the quality was outstanding. I will definitely be recommending Sosa and his crew to anyone looking to remodel or build from scratch.

Carmelo and his team did an incredible job on our bathroom remodel! We are so grateful our friends recommended this group to us, and we 100% plan to work with them again for future projects. Here's what's so great about these guys: 1. They do quality work. Now that the room is finished and we're using it, we're really happy with how clean all the details look (grout, tiles, etc.) 2. Always quick to respond over email and phone. 3. Reasonable prices. The original contract was less expensive than others we talked to, and when we needed to add some work in the middle of the job, the prices they quoted were also reasonable. 4. Honest. We never felt taken advantage of, which unfortunately can happen when working with some contractors. Carmelo's a good guy who really cares about doing things the right way.

Even though the remodel has just begun, we are already beyond impressed. Their communication is out of this world. They use WhatsApp and video walkthroughs to keep us updated every step of the way, which makes such a huge difference. Alon, the general manager, is incredibly knowledgeable and communicates with us daily. Whenever an issue comes up, he presents reasonable solutions and explains everything clearly so we actually understand what's happening. The demo crew was amazing--fast, efficient, and they left the house spotless. They bring in large work crews, so the job moves quickly and efficiently without cutting corners. There is always plenty of supervision on site, and unexpected issues are addressed immediately. Sapir in the office has also been fantastic. She keeps us informed about permits and sends us copies of everything, which makes the whole process feel organized and stress-free. When we interviewed contractors for this project, Better Together Builders (Alon and Ido) stood out immediately. They got back to us quickly with a detailed bid and even invited us to visit a current job site they were working on. It was clear they have their act together and strong relationships with their subcontractors and crews. You will not find another contractor who combines excellent workmanship with this level of communication and professionalism. We can't wait to share photos of the finished remodel and their amazing work. Highly, highly recommend.

(Updated March 2026) I hired Better Together Builders for a…read moremajor home renovation and paid over $175,000 toward the project. While some work was completed, the overall experience has been disappointing due to prolonged delays, unfinished and substandard work, poor communication, and lack of accountability. Key examples from my project: * Electrical work left incomplete and hazardous (exposed wiring), requiring me to hire a licensed electrician at my own expense. * Poor preparation and installation led to chipped slabs, misaligned cuts, unpatched drywall holes. * The wrong type of water heater (indoor instead of outdoor) was installed, requiring full replacement. * Partial demolition -- I paid $20k milestone but had to complete much of the ceiling/wall demo myself. * Large portions of kitchen and bedroom work abandoned/incomplete. Communication was inconsistent -- I often had to chase updates, and there were barriers to effective discussion due to my deafness (I rely on ASL as my primary language, but no qualified ASL interpreter was provided for contract explanations or change orders). This contributed to misunderstandings about scope and costs. Extended delays caused months of lost rental income and extra temporary housing costs. I ultimately stopped working with BTB and hired another contractor who completed the remaining work faster and to a higher standard. Update (October 2025): Discovered additional serious issues, including the improper water heater install. Update (December 30, 2025): Matter entered formal mediation (unresolved). Update (February 2026): Submitted BBB complaint (ID 24475296, ongoing). BTB responded disputing claims, but I found their response unsatisfactory due to incomplete timeline and unaddressed issues. Update (March 2026): BTB filed a lawsuit against me in Los Angeles Superior Court (Case No. 25STCV36434) seeking to foreclose on a mechanic's lien for approximately $113,000. On January 30, 2026, my attorney demanded binding arbitration at the BBB per the contract's arbitration clause, requiring a court-certified ASL interpreter for accessibility. The dispute remains unresolved, and my out-of-pocket repair and completion costs continue to rise. My lawyer and I have filed a Verified Cross-Complaint in the same court against Better Together Builders, Inc., owner/CEO Yaniv Brikman, project manager Alon David, and representative Lena Agbaria. My original review reflects my direct experience. Homeowners should carefully verify scopes, permits, installations, subcontractor quality, payment milestones, and communication accommodations before proceeding.

Truthfully, no one came close to the knowledge, honesty, and thoroughness of Solomon and the Sunshine team. What stood out most was that they never tried to oversell me. They were straightforward about what needed to be done and what didn't. The dirt removal ended up taking about twice as long as originally estimated (not their fault - there was was just way more dirt than was viable), but they still did not hit me with a change order. Finding a contractor that is honest, communicative, and actually sticks to their word feels almost impossible, but Sunshine did exactly that. I also asked them to move the start date up by two weeks because of our move-in timeline, which was a huge ask. Ram, the owner, personally made sure it happened and clearly moved things around to make it work. Ram and Solomon were available throughout the entire process, from start to finish, and they even had their crew working overtime to help us hit our target completion date. They truly went above and beyond. Sunshine did an amazing job removing a massive amount of dirt and reinforcing our raised foundation. My husband and I knew we should get earthquake insurance but the cost blew our minds but when we heard that you can get a 25% discount if you complete the retrofit, we explored what it would entail. Well the EBB subsidy which came out to $3,000 was a huge motivator. Selection: To select a company to work with I went overboard reading reviews, not just looking at ratings- Yelp, Google, Angi, Houzz. Plus, I always look at Next Door because our city is finicky so I wanted to see which companies had delivered excellent experiences for homeowners in our city and lastly I look at Reddit. I invited 3 highly rated companies with excellent track records to provide quotes based on the work required. Out if the 3, two came, went into our crawl space and provided a detailed breakdown of the necessary work and cost with photos. The third company provided a quote over Yelp without coming in person to do a visual inspection. So they were eliminated from consideration. The remaining two which included Sunshine were excellent and after putting together a side by side comparison of the work and costs along with their answers to some initial and follow up questions from my husband ( who was a 35 yr construction industry executive), we selected Sunshine and specifically Adam who was the lead that came to our house and who provided detailed and technical responses that instilled so much confidence. EBB approval: Well from there, it was like we had a retrofit concierge with Diana guiding me through every step which is necessary because there are things that need to be done on the EBB website to ensure compliance to receive approval and given Sunshine's vast experience, they have it down to a science which eliminates a ton of confusion I am sure I would have had to face without them. The retrofit work: The team was on time, had detailed instructions, and worked diligently the entire time they were here and they provided photos of their work. And a bonus was I didn't have any clean up to do afterwards. I need to note that out of an abundance of caution Adam ( who is also a licensed electrician) came back out to take care of a wire that looked suspicious but was probably not an issue. If he had not mentioned it, we would not have known City inspection and approval: A breeze! The gentleman that dealt with the city came by after to give us the good news and it was apparent he was trusted by the city inspector. Retrofit completion certificate Diana expeditiously provided the certificate i needed to provide my insurance broker to get quotes after instructing me on how to complete the final EBB steps Success! We now have earthquake insurance and saved 25% off the premium. Side note: get your quote from GeoVera and not the Earthquake Authority. our quote for better coverage by a more highly rated company saved $1,500 in annual premiums So, for a project that seemingly would have been a bear, it was probably the easiest construction like project and process I could have imagined that gives us added confidence in protecting our home. Do it and include Sunshine in your short list. you will be happy you did.

When we consulted Sharon with our project, he had a "can do" mindset and really listened to what I wanted while also giving solid advice. I've had bad luck with contractors before and been gaslit at times, but Sharon's approach of having an actual conversation and putting the customer first made us go with his team. While most remodels require you to acquire materials on your own, Sharon connected us with Tile and Shower door folks (and they also had nothing but good things to say about him). I appreciate how he'd always check in to make sure we have all the items ready (i.e. vanity, toilet, etc.), and he'd always drop in to check on the progress. Eddie and his team were absolute professionals and do everything with care and precision. Really liked how he'd always double-check things with us down to the smallest detail (e.g. paint colors, door hinges, etc.). Pricing, I'd say they're within average of the estimates we received. Totally worth it and highly recommend them. Next time I have another big project, I'm definitely reaching out to them.

We interviewed three different contractors, and Joe was the only one who took the time to truly understand our vision. He met with us not once, but twice, to go over our goals in detail, including our budget. And never once pressured us to go beyond it! As first-timer tackling a major renovation, his honest advice (including what he would do if he were in our shoes) was incredibly valuable and reassuring. This was a massive project: remodeling three bathrooms, replacing sewer pipes under both the front and back of the house, mold remediation, asbestos removal, modernizing the exterior, painting inside and out, updating trim, swapping chandeliers and canned lighting, replacing interior doors, and installing a new front door and garage door. Joe truly has teams for everything, that is skilled professionals he's worked with for 10+ years and it shows in the quality and coordination of the work. His crew was consistently kind, respectful, and punctual. Every morning they showed up on time and treated our home with care. With a small child in the house, safety was a huge concern for us, and they went above and beyond to make sure everything was secure and safe for her at all times. Joe also made sure no corners were cut. He handled permits thoroughly and professionally, and when we ran into a particularly difficult inspector, Joe personally came to the house to ensure everything was up to code so we wouldn't face further delays. That level of ownership and commitment is rare. We constantly get compliments from friends and neighbors about how our 1960s home looks completely transformed, in the best way. We liked our house when we bought it, but now we absolutely LOVE it, and that's all because of Joe and his team. Joe is just a genuinely warm, lovely person who truly goes above and beyond.
