Upon moving into my new condo, I began to slowly stockpile on clutter - bins piled on top of bins…read moreof mostly useful stuff. The only storage I had in the condo was the bedroom closet and another coat closet that had some extra space for storage. I was referred to Hannah by a condo neighbor who used her services before and decided to try it out - the bedroom closet previously only had one rack with a shelf above it, so there was a lot of unutilized space, especially since most of my clothes are not ones I normally hang. Planning: This part was tough for me because I wasn't sure what I exactly wanted. I just knew what I currently had was not the best setup. We talked about what I would like hanged, what sort of clothes I had and where I would like it kept, and she later came back with some designs/ideas. You can still adjust after all of this if needed, but coming in knowing what you want would be helpful. Closet installation: Installation came courtesy of one of her trusted contractors. The parts get shipped to you beforehand so make sure you are there so the packages don't left outside too long. No issues here, it took most of the day to get it installed, but I was able to WFH and leave for a few errands without issue - they kept my dog company while I was away. Organization: Hannah does a great job organizing things where they may be most efficiently used. After she completed everything, I adjusted a few things, but realized I like it better the way it was before. For the most part, I've kept the organization she started with the same, and tried folding similarly to her - it just looks neater/cleaner the way she did things originally. Customer Service: Hannah is great! She's super-friendly and really helpful, always willing to adjust to what you are looking for and make recommendations if you are unsure. She also got along well with my dog, which is a good sign of character. Overall, really great closet upgrade for me! I will say the overall cost can be a little bit pricey, especially if you feel like you are pretty organized yourself. The closet installation was appropriately priced, however so I wouldn't worry about being overcharged or anything.

The company never disclosed during the sales process that it routinely discards clients' existing storage containers, "decants" and replaces them with its own plastic Container Store bins. Our home already contained functional, clearly labeled storage systems, yet many of these were thrown away and replaced with plastic containers throughout nearly every drawer, cabinet, and storage area. It very much seemed that the workers were being paid by the number of plastic bins they could hide throughout the home. The team also "decanted" numerous pantry and household items into plastic Container Store containers without discussing the process with us beforehand. We had concerns about the sanitary handling of items during this process and would not have approved many of these changes had we been consulted. What was presented as professional organizing quickly became an expensive Plastic bin product-installation project. We were ultimately presented with more than $6,000 in charges for containers and products that were neither requested nor necessary. Had these practices been disclosed before we signed the agreement, we would have selected a different provider. Professional organizers should be transparent about their methods, obtain approval before discarding client property, and communicate product costs before incurring them. Unfortunately, this was not our experience.
